Copyright help - using images from a Book PDF

I'm making a Android Quiz app,
Taking lots of images from a PDF Book,

Copying the images, Deleting the text, Making a quiz where the user have to name the parts.

I'm sure this is not legal,
Will they sue me if they get to know about this after i release it on the app markets?
If so is there a way around this other than buying the images?
Something like giving the book credits?
or writing some copyright statements on the 1st screen of the app like "the images taken from bla bla i'm not taking any ownership"?
