The Colombo Chief Magistrate today issued notice on IGP Mahinda Balasuriya to arrest a police DIG for failing to arrest two suspects wanted in connection with sending people overseas illegally.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police only identified by the Court as DIG Herath, had failed to implement a Court warrant to arrest the two suspects.
