Creative Live sound card VISTA Drivers

B0002ZH6QY.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

A trip over to Creative's website was worthless. No drivers were currently available for my card and I got the impression they weren't going to waste the effort.

:growl: :growl: :growl: Creative also has listed that there is no development planeed for the Live! series of sound cards,:growl: :growl: :growl:

Creative are pathetic:growl:  . I won't buy any more products from a company that can't support downword products - lesson learned. :( :growl:

:( Anyway this is a modded driver

Code:
http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=20

That way is working perfectly for me >>>>>>

And this is an alternate way of getting a working driver from the *official* installer:

* Get LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe from Creative's web site
* Run the installer, it will display the checking CRC window
* It will then tell you it can't find an SB card - oh yeah? Leave the dialog alone, we need it there for the moment
* Owing to the magic way the installer works it has already unpacked all the driver files onto your hard disk, as soon as the installer exits it will delete them - so don't let that installer exit yet
* Open an Explorer window, navigate to %USER%\AppData\Local\Temp and look for the most recently created directory (mine was called CRF000. There will be an Audio\Drivers directory under it, navigate to this directory. (BTW substitute %USER% with your user name)
* Copy the path from the path bar at the top of your Explorer window.
* Now open the Device Manager (Windows key+Break), select the 'unknown audio' device, right click and then select 'Update Driver Software' and then 'Browse my computer for software'.
* Now paste the path to the driver into the text box and press next. The driver should now install. That's it!

Now you can close the installer window. You now should have a working Live! soundcard.

 :D Hope this helps someone else enjoy Vista with full fidelity.:D

Creative's driver support for Vista sucks like hell! (that's what I heard from others). I mean, just imagine; they have the best audio cards for PCs. They have to do way better than this on their drivers department.

Does this mean that no business is supposed to have a PC with a creative card installed? Vista Business and Enterprise Editions are already released ne.

But, you can't expect them to release the first good drivers like that! They have to do a lot of beta testing, just like the video card manufacturers are doing. They have been releasing beta drivers for a while now. They are not complete yet...not even close!

    INTEL ONBOARD CRAPS:lol:
Well, it's like getting a normal car for free, which will have all the spare parts so that you can get it repaired if it encounters an accident, or buying a Ferrari for Rs.500 lakhs which wouldn't have any spare part around in case it faces with the same accident. Remember, you have to drive both on the same road (analogous to the speakers). Which one would you prefer, if the country in subject is Sri Lanka?

Maybe your motherboard's APU is too old. You can't compare a Creative Soundblaster Live card with an X-Fi. Newer motherboards have better APUs than the ones that came out two years ago. Quality wise, they are not as good as X-Fi's, but most of them are better than a Live!
