Popular artists Bathya and Santhush have written to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, calling on the latter to heed the calls of the public.
In a special statement, the Sri Lankan singers pointed out that the country deserves better and to listen to the voice of the country.
Stating that Sri Lanka needs a propper solution, the duo said the citizens need a truthful solution that will bring back the hopes and dreams of this nation.

The people of the country are in need of their basic necessities, they are fighting for their basic needs. It is sad to see the country has come to a standstill.
Dear President, listen to the voice of the country, we supported you for a better Sri Lanka, we are truly sad and devastated to see the plight of this nation. Sri Lanka deserves better.
Sri Lankans are voicing their hearts out for thier future, for their children.
Suppression of people will not be the answer, using Force will not be the answer, enforcement of Emmergency law and curfew will not be the answer, creating a social media ban will not be the answer.
Sri Lanka needs a propper solution, a truthful solution that will bring back the hopes and dreams of this nation. We have always been for the people of this country, and we stand with the people of this country.
