Well, according to Buddhist history, Lord Buddha didnt discard the meditation practices of the hinduism as "useless". He found that true enlightenment cannot be found solely from those techniques so he sought out his own but it was still based on these existing techniques.

The "Ana pana sathi" meditation, the most basic of the meditations practiced in Buddhism is directly taken from Hinduism

Exactly!

Sabrina had practiced them before she started Buddhist Insight meditation.. She says they are very different because they regulate breath while Buddha teaches watching natural breath as it is. She sound so practical and fluent about her experience.. There is a vast difference between her and the parrots like us who repeat what we have read..... I am so ashamed of my lack of Buddha's teaching and feel like those idiots who think big and look so stupid in Sirasa Superstar Videos highlighted in Jokes section..

you are too dependent on others words and acts. just think free and broad. you just beleive in what you see, but what you seen always is not the realty, in most cases it lies under the cover. some day you will understand it of your own.
    I really hope...

I have heard that once Buddha was sitting in a forest, and he took a handful of leaves and said I have taught you only this much which is needed to the way out of suffering... as mach as leaves in this forest left unsaid. I think those techniques may fall into the category which does not help the way out of suffering..

"Ana pana sathi" does help as it paves the way to control your thoughts. The way out if suffering lies in your ability to completely control your thoughts to a point that you have only a conscious mind as opposed to conscious+sub conscious minds.

I think you may be partly right.. .. But I feel that control may not be needed at the end... I think it is needed... effort may be needed for the process of purification.....
I think Sabrina meant same when she said Total purification of the mind... Now I figure... If subconscious becomes consciuos when mind is purified from Klesha that subconscious part must be the result of Kleshas, So some loose conscious mind when mind is full of kleshas... sometimes when one goes mad, temporarily when one is very emotional or permenently mad....or when someone is very old...then subconscious works and he doesn't know what he is doing...

Whenever you kill a human being you are killing a source of thought too. A human being is a collection of ideas, and these ideas take moral precedence over a society. Ideas are patterns of value.

A death can be helpful to a society or harmful.

I see nothing wrong with this statement..yaa this is true if its used to describe the deaths of good people ( who really cares about the society )

I think you are so LTTE oriented that you can't think of anything without relating it to Prabhakaran or LTTE... All those is history... They are completely wiped out... Nothing to fear now... Come out and live a normal life..
