Dr. Senasinghe refutes Rajitha’s statement Print E-mail

Referring to Minister Rajitha Senaratne’s statement that the Aston Martin campaign was resurfacing in a different guise, in the Daily News of October 31, Dr. Namal Senasinghe said he had not sent his car to Sri Lanka as stated by the Minister.
In a letter sent to the Daily News, Dr. Senasinghe said the Minister has made several incorrect statements regarding the whole issue.
“This particular issue started when the President was asked about an Aston Martin at the Janapathi Hamuwa.
I have seen the clips through the Internet. Senaratne volunteered to speak about the issue without giving a chance to the President.
It was fine if he got his facts right but to my astonishment some of the facts were totally wrong.
At the time he was convinced that the car doing the rounds in Sri Lanka was mine and did not have a clue who the real owner was.
He said I sent the Aston to Sri Lanka -
I did not; I produced a film called Pooja - It is Yahaluwo.
Many of my relatives including my father @@@@@@@ @@@@@ Attorney at law and my father-in-law Justice ****** ****** stated that Senaratne had made a false statement on national television that one of my cars (Aston Martin) was sent to Sri Lanka.
Following that I wrote to Sirasa explaining my position where I said that the
car was never sent to Sri Lanka and was not used in my movie Yahaluwo.
