When Microsoft introduced its Zune portable media player last November, the company made no secret of the fact that it had a Zune phone planned. Well, the folks at CrunchGear have received word that Microsoft has already fleshed out some of the Zune phone's features and even held a meeting about the device yesterday. Supposedly, the Zune phone will be a smart phone with support for the Zune Marketplace, but it won't run Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system. Instead, it will have an interface similar to the current Zune's. CrunchGear's sources also say the device will be able to sync up with and stream video from Xbox 360 consoles. The sources add that if things go as planned, the Zune phone will hit stores in time for the 2007 holiday season.

The current Zune uses a modified WM5 OS. Window Mobile phones are super popular right now. Every major Cell vendor sells mutiple WM5 phones today.

So this all makes sense.....and it was easily predicted when the Zune came out by a lot of people.

Once this device comes out then all of those Apple loving morons, and their current comments about how the Iphone will kill the Zune (current Zune) might have some validity. The comparison now is just plain stupid.
