First year.. I had a laptop.. but then the stuff you do in the 1st year actually not worth backing up So I had never really archived it..

In 2nd & 3rd year.. My Laptop was gone!! And had to buy a Desktop and because of the nature of the assignments it was damn important to back it up!! So I used that method of Multi-Session re-writing..

But make sure you buy a Quality DVD-RW Disks because, you are writing in and out all the time there's a good chance it will corrupt.... (it happened to me) and its best that you keep at least 2 backups separately!

As I remember.. If you get a DVD-RW (if that is enough to back up your data) Nero can do this.. burn a multi-session disk first then afterwards the second time onwards.. point to the same directory and it will only burn the modified files!!!

the purpose of this topic was to find a solution to a specific requirement.

i want to backup data, and the backup software should be able to remember which files were backed up already, and only backup the data that has been modified since the last backup and the new files. it doesn't have to be automated backing up, and i want them to remain as just files, not as one single archive. any ideas?

Only Bookmarks....with febe firefox addon..

Juz thought of adding....

Firefox doesn't need addons to backup bookmarks... it automatically backup bookmarks everyday.. unless ofcourse you worried about a HDD failure!!!

I use windows Backup(Vista) just the partition where windows is installed and some of my stuff. 250GB+80GB 80 is for the Backup.
