The Bourne Legacy is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the successful franchise which starred Matt Damon as amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne.I suppose, if I must, I could call it an equal, as the events unfold simultaneously to those in 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum. Unfortunately that is the only aspect of the movie which is equal to anything in the Bourne trilogy.By no means a terrible movie, The Bourne Legacy is however a rather flat contribution that does not do justice to its individual parts. As a result of Jason Bourne's acts in Ultimatum, the government agency that made Bourne into a killer decides to eliminate all evidence linking it to him. This means murdering any other operatives that underwent the same or similar training and the scientists who worked on them.Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross is the only operative to escape the extermination. The film has some great action, beautiful locations, awesome stunts and strong acting. Renner is great to watch and he shares a nice chemistry with co-star Rachel Weisz.
