Draconian Laws - Extremely harsh and severe rules

Draco is the first legislator of Athens, Ancient Greece. The Draconian laws were written codes that can be enforced only by a court of law.

Infamous for their harshness, the codes were said to be written in blood rather than ink. Death was prescribed for almost all criminal offenses.


Trivia - Draco is the Latin word for serpent or dragon.
