Dual Core help....

yesterday i brought a processor from a friend..its a dual core 3.00Ghz..but when i see the properties of My computer it says like this..
Intel(R)Pentium(R) D 3.00GHz 3.00GHz.....
is this a dual core one ?

AFAIK pentium Ds are not dual core.

ok, I was wrong. There is a Pentium D Core Dual Core processor as well.
