Hey guys......
I need to replace my Pc's Motherboard n Processor......
I had a AMD 32 bit Athlon Pc.
Now im going to replace them to intel....
So what i need to knw is... Difference between Dual Core and HT Processors....
What is the best....?
Which is the combination of Motherboard and the processor i can buy around Rs. 25,000?

Please help me......

The difference between Pentium 4 HT and Pentium D is that Pentium 4 HT still is one core. It will help somewhat in general applications and usage, but not as much as a dual core.

Boru. I have a friend who has a 3GHz HT and we did the same job (encoded a video on same settings) on his PC and on my Core 2 Duo E6300. Mine was 2.5 times faster that this. Remember, this time also has somewhat common part: the audio extracted part etc. which is I/O bound, so both of us took pretty much the same time for that part. Therefore, the CPU is supposed to be much faster that 2.5 times.

In multithreaded applications like video encoding, Pentium D is 1.8-2 times faster than Pentium 4. E6300 is roughly as fast as a 3.4-4GHz Pentium D.
