Court orders Edna off shelves
The Colombo Magistrate Court today ordered the prohibition of producing, distributing and selling Edna products. Court also ordered all remaining stocks of Edna products to be collected and destroyed under the supervision of the Consumer Affairs Authority(CAA). Further the order entailed that Edna published half page advertisements in Sinhala, Tamil and English newspapers saying that all Edna products contaminated Melamine and that people should refrain from consuming them.

HC issues stay order against Edna ruling
The Colombo High Court (HC) has issued a stay order against the rulling of the Colombo Magistrate Court regarding the Edna case until the next hearing on 28/10/2008. Court ordered the samples to be retested.

According to wat i think EDNA has sumthing fishy going on with their products. then y cant they agree with the test done by da CAA and have to do pricate tests??. when a simmilar situation came with munchee they willingly without a court order withdrew all da products from da shelves and then after da CAA report came saying it was pure they put it back. y cant EDNA do da same?? and EDNA knew dat they were going to be banned by da courts today. dats y they came ready to file an appeal. look at da time difference. within two hrs da appeal was filed and called and also an order was obtained. obviously there is sumthing fishy. i today got this msg on ma fone wen i was out and went to a shop to buy sum stuff. the i decided to buy a chocolate and without knowing its edna i asked da shop guy for da choc and he said dat he wont sell it coz its edna. i was lyk then y do u have it. he said altho edna has said there is no prblem he doesnt wants his customers to get into trouble by buying products in his shop. but he said he was told not to stop selling da chocs but he was not happy to sell it coz it was in doubt.!!
