Ok guys and girls here is another Pro-Section thread from me :D. I feel that I'm kind of becoming a Pro-Section lover   .

Anyway the main idea of this thread is somewhat simple. I saw many threads in EK where the members are trying to compare courses, Universities and other carrier opportunities. So I thought it would be a good idea to gather all that into one place.

I am not trying play my own trumpet here but I might be able to help some of you there, specially school leavers (Not that I am a pro or having a long carrier myself :nerd: :nerd: :nerd: ). Currently I am into Software Engineering, Finance and Marketing. So I will be able to guide u in some areas there. Plus I personally know that there are lot of members at EK like 'X-Pert' who has a vast knowledge on many areas attached to IT. So as a community I think we will be able to help each other.

So post your problems here and I will try to answer them, when I am around. If there is anyone out there who can help the members posting here, please come forward and share your knowledge. I take it as a social responsibility to help each other.

I am not at all an expert on areas like Music, Sports and Arts where you might be able to have amazing carriers. So I will surely need help from people who have decent understandings on those areas.

So lets start posting. Cheers.

machan what are the job opportunities those who are following BCS?
machan BCS is in the functional side. So most probably the job opportunities would be like for analysts and designers. From experience I know those two jobs are better paid than developers. :D

ok..now im following that BCS. its full time course in the Esoft and for the full time they offer some vendor certifications like VB. NET(MCSD), SCJP and CCNA. I select VB.NET and for additional CCNA.
I want to be a Web engineer but Im not good in programming. so im not interested in Software development but i like Networking also. Can you tell me what are the fields that currently available in the job market(IT). If I select my future carrier as a web developer can i go ahead and what are the additional qualifications which what i need?

first of all, thanks for opening this thread :):):)

im doing my ALs this year and after that i hope to go on in the IT field.

but i dont know what to choose from these various degrees.

    • Diploma in Information & Communications Technology
    • B.Sc (Hons) Computing
    • B.Sc (Hons) Computing with specialisation in Software Engineering
    • B.Sc (Hons) Computing with specialisation in Multimedia
    • B.Sc (Hons) Computing with specialisation in Web Development
    • B.Sc (Hons) E-Commerce
    (APIIT website)

Im in the mood of trying anything in this. but the thing is i dont know what is the best and what gives me a good salary.:D

what are the areas that have more job opportunities?? and what additional qualification do i need??

if i do a business degree(marketing or somthing:D ) along with that, will it help me more?
