Nice thread!:D

I just want to know well wether the ID field still have the same sort of job carer oppetunuties as it had in the past?
Since with all the private institutional degrees coming, what I feel is that the job field for IT has been filled up rapidly!

Anyone care to answer me?

you are correct to some extent bro, but there is another aspect of it, lots of IT people are migrating to various countries like (Aus, Can). And another fact is its bit difficult to find good IT people having very good analytical and programming skills. So if you are a good programmer there is nothing to worry so far.

When there are more people in the market, more job opportunities arise as well... Sri Lanka is becoming a good outsourcing destination. Many foreign countries will outsource IT projects to Sri lanka due to reduced costs. But the problem is war.

Sooner the war is over more people will invest in Sri Lanka :D

Salary is the problem. Because there are highly qualified IT professionals with qualifications in multiple disciplines, ordinary IT professionals won't get a better job with a better salary.

So just an IT qualification is not sufficient now. If you need to stand out among the rest you need to equip with a unique skill set. (not only IT.)

Well what u r saying is that "if u r creative enough, u r yet to be beaten" right?

But isn't it litttle too risky in modern day to involved in IT field? Wouldn't it be rather safe to involve in other fields?:D

Greater benefits always comes with greater risk. If you are confident you may be able to do it.

well it depends machan. True that its very competitive. If you cant stay upto date and keep up with the pace... there is a high chance that u will lose the job, no matter how senior u are(Thats in high paying companies).

Well in that case I think in any field you will need to keep up with the changes. The only difference in IT is that the technology is changing very fast.

Well, thats what I would like to be, but it needs about 30K USDs for ATPL. So whats your advice?

    sorry bout the delay...

infact.. u need $30k for the commercial license..!! n u can only get a "frozen" ATPL aftr dat unless u have atleast 3000 hours logd.

but.. u cld work here while u fly.. n easily cover ur expenses n get dat 30 dwn to lyk 15k..!! depends on ur effort.

as they say.. whr thr's a will.. thr's a way.. geting thr is neva easy. but whn u do.. u knw da rest...:)
