Mr. Harrison's daughter is missing. And now at the sorority house where she lives the other girls are getting obscene phone calls.···When he called before, did he used more than one voice.- Yes, he did. He used several different voices.- Lieutenant Fuller?- Yes, Sargent Nash. What is it?- The phone company is on the other line, sir. They say they got a trace on this one. they said the calls are coming from No. 6, Belmont Street.- For Christ sake, you got it wrong. That's where the calls are going into.- That's where they're coming from too, sir.- Shit! Nash! Look, I can't get through to Jennings. I want you to call that girl. Nash, be calm. Don't tell her that the guy is in the house. Just tell her to put down the phone and walk straight out the front door. Nash, if you blow this, I'll kill you.*Inspired by the crimes of serial killers Wayne Boden "The Vampire Rapist", Paul Michael Stephani "Weepy-Voiced Killer" and the urban legend "The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs".The film has noted similarities to a real life attack on the Chi Omega Sorority House in Tallahassee, Florida. On January 15, 1978, serial killer Ted Bundy entered the sorority house through a door with a faulty locking mechanism. He killed two sleeping college students, and injured two others. He then fled into the night. There were several efforts to ban the film, blaming it for supposedly inspiring the Florida murders.
