He gets a salary for his job.
If he does his job well people will respect him.
I respect anyone
who does his job well.

People respected Dhammasoka
but not Chandasoka who won war.
They were afraid of Chandasoka
and they loved Dhammasoka.
Chandasoka united India but if he remained so
he could have been just a royal thug.
He did a lot for the wellbeing of people
not only in India all over Asia.
So he is respected today as ever.

So you don't have to tell us to respect him... or anyone.
It is something they earn.
If one doesn't deserve our respect
why should we pretend.

He is the no 1 govt servent & he is the first person of sri lanka.So we should respect to his title. i mean we should not use bad language to a any legal leader in world.

Yes people like Dharmoshaka more than chandashoka But I never heard people use bad language at chandashoka

Because of people like you

and we are one of the poorest, most under developed country
of the world.
