in my garden
this is regarding with my english lesson..i want to write a letter to the HR by requesting holidays..it means more holidays..so..i want to write a letter.

    ENGLISH PATTERNS

    HAD BETTER


    subject+had better+verb(infinitive)+object+rest

    ඔයා පිටරට යත එක වඩාත් හොදයි

    you had better go abroad

    ඔයා ඇත්ත කියන එක වඩාත් හොදයි
    you had better tell the truth

    ඔහුන් බසයේ යන එක වඩාත් හොදයි
    they had better go by bus

    ඔහුන් මෙහෙ නවතින එක වඩාත් හොදයි
    they had better stay here


    IT IS ADVISABLE FOR YOU TO


    It is advisable for you to+verb(infinitive)+object+rest

    ඔයා පිටරට යන එක නුවණට හුරුයි

    it is advisable for you to go abroad

    ඔයා මෙ සම්බන්ධය නවත්වන එක නුවණට හුරුයි

    it is advisable for you to stop this affair

    ඇය නැවත විභාගයට පෙනී සිටින එක නුවණට හුරුයි

    it is advisable for her to appear for the exam again

    මම ආපසු යන එක නුවණට හුරුයි

    it is advisable for me to go back

    IT IS HIGH TIME

    It is high time+subject+verb(past tense)+object+rest


    මට ගෙදර යන්න ඕන වෙලාව හොඳටම පහු වෙලා
    it is high time i went home

    බස් එක එන්න ඕන වෙලාව හොඳටම පහු වෙලා
    it is high time the bus came

    ඔයා බඳින්න ඕන කාලෙ හොඳටම පහු වෙලා
    it is high time you got marry

    මම නිදාගන්න ඕන වෙලාව හොඳටම පහු වෙලා
    it is high time i slept

    Btw small correction about the High time usage, the last one

    ඔයා බඳින්න ඕන කාලෙ හොඳටම පහු වෙලා
    it is high time you got marry

    which needs to be corrected as :

    ඔයා බඳින්න ඕන කාලෙ හොඳටම පහු වෙලා
    it is high time you got married

    It's the past participle. :)
