Reply: I made ElaKiri Talk! for off topic and leisure talking. So actually people have to select the correct section before posting them, without posting all the threads in ElaKiri Talk!
And why should i make a section which is not going to add to your post count?
You guys think it will work and ppl will post in that section?
And all of our senior top posters gained such large amount of posts by talking both to the topic and off topic. And almost all of the top posters gained those numbers by posting in chat threads which now called as spam threads by them selfs. So why not giving that chance to new members too?
Actually what i can see here is big problem of keeping the rank in top posting list while you are not much active on the forum. The simple fact is if you are not active then you go down in the top list. If you gained that top list rank by posting so called quality posts then you can make such statements but who made to the top post list with all quality posts? So why you trying to save that top list rank which you also gained from so called spamming in old days?
Anyway why caring so much about the post count? Is it a big deal? Anyway i will discuss more info about this in a new thread. I have some solutions for this problems Lets talk and solve this in that thread.

Reply: What i am thinking about is removing all of those non alphabetic characters from allowed list of letters. So you can only make names from normal English letters and numbers without using fancy designs and non alphabetic characters which will create problems when connection with other systems.
About number of characters in the username. I am still thinking about the limit.
I can make only part of the name appear in forum homepage and other appear only you open the thread. Or simple cut down the character limit from something like 12. But 8 is too small and many users with lot of posts have names with more than 10 letters too. So it will be big problem. And with 8 or 9 letters possibilities are very few because new members like good names coz they going to buildup some personality here. So its not about make them get the name we want like bank giving us the account number. We should think more about it and take a decision later. Thanks for the suggestion bro.

Anyway i have some plan about mods too. But there are big questions like who to give mod ranks? and will others get disappointed because they were not selected. And even the selected mods will do the work according to the rules or they will do favors for selected people. If someone given the mod rank they will stop posting in the forum and it will be like another srilanakn forum with lot of mods and admins but no posters.
But i have a solution for that and i will tell my new plan very soon. So don't worry there will be mods in Beta3.

Okay will leave Elakiri Talk like that and start new section called Elakiri Pro.
But actually if you read the categories of the forum correctly you will find places to post them without posting in Elakiri talk! The problems is everybody acting like ElaKiri Talk is the only section to post.

We have our own system to stop editing the thread after 24 hours. So its hard to add new details to a thread if no one replied to it. And in the other hand spammer can reg a fake ID and bump the post using that.
In the other hand most of our senior members telling now no one helping them even they ask some help. So if such thread go down there will be no way to take it up on busy times where lot of members are active. But they forget the fact now they only visit elakiri when they need some help or download a song.
So even if you are senior member if you are not active others will forget you.
Its same like real world. You pass out from the school and go on a visit after 6 months... No one cares about you and none of your friends are there.
I wanted to do some meeting and gather all our great old members and talk about their problems. But none of them having much interest and all telling they are busy and hard to come etc.. So what i am telling is if you are so much busy and don't even have time to discuss your problems and find solutions then don't expect others on the community to welcome you after you come in months time to find a song or some other help.
I respect all of you our great old members but if you don't cooperate with me then i can't help you that much.
1. There is some error in the email system. Some users can't edit the email settings. I'll fix that with new release.
Anyway after that you can set it to weekly notify or monthly notify, disable etc..

Well its hard to rank threads by a system so it should be done by humans. So if you see bad thread ranked as good then vote your self and make it bad.

And we are not supporting or hosting any of those illegal materials.

both more than 10 posts are just some posts which are unnecessary for the thread creator , the creator is having a pain bcz if she wants to knw hw she gets the comments for her poem she jjst sees this posts and its a pain for the ones who are trying to read others comments
if that system is introduced he cant make another post until someone replies to the thread.

personally i think if without a chat thread or athal thread elakiri will be boring. since everyone isnt interested in cars or music or computer.. its a place for every member to talk freely without getting bullied that he is talking out of the topic etc. the post count isnt a big pro mchn. since we are not earning any money bcz of the post count ne? elakrii is a place to spend our free time having fun i personally come to elakiri for talk with the people i knw. since its easier..i personally dont have any grudges or any pros wit u or wit other people just showing the section which i found on another forum which was using simple machines

Well.. Yeah many of us don't give a shit about the posts count. But I made that point after considering the people who make a big deal out of the number of posts.

Personally I believe there should be a proper ranking system to give members a proper recognition. So we have only 2 options.
1. By the date joined.
2. By the number of posts.
So what suits best? Yes the number of posts. Then it should be a valid count
Or else the ranking system will become pointless. Anyway I was pointing out these suggestions because I felt we're trying to reach the professional level machang. If I'm wrong then we don't need proper systems

I personally think that the ranking should be based on both, using a point system.
We can use the equation of number of posts * weeks spent in EK / 100. You can choose any number, but I took 100 as an arbitary value
Ex.
Mine would be 2331 * 101.4 / 100 , which is about 2332.
X - Pert would be 16,346 * 100.2 / 100, about 16,346
Kalindugayan would be 22,600 * 27 /100, about 6199.
Then we can rank them as MaD-Doc's rank system using the points. This will help older members to have some recognition.
