Chill Out music is a denomination used to define a
kind of sound that goes back into the roots of popular
music. Also known as Lo-Fi or Lounge it was called
Easy Listening when Burt Bacharach and Herp Albert
were producing stuff back in late 70's.
Then Brian Eno set the coordinates for a kind of
sound known as Ambient and in the late 90's names
like Moby, Thievery Corporation and Kruder &
Dorfmeister created the boundaries of what is now
know as Lo-Fi ... or Lounge ... or even Chill Out.
This compilation is a small example of what this
sound is all about, presenting some of the most
representative names of the actual scene, like
4 Hero, Moby, Fila Brazillia, Thievery Corporation
and the spanish Dj José Padilla, among others.

Their smooth combination of “pop, rock, metal and industrial music” is quite well noted. Composed of Mark Surresto (Marko) on vocal/guitars, Olli (Ollie) Tukinasen on guitar, and Markus (Captain) Karrlonen as the producer, keyboardist and programmer, they make a band that’s not afraid to show their ability to mix these genres seamlessly and with quite a bit of heart.

Even further, their latest album in 2006 “Carnival of Rust,” shot to #1 after a week’s release. In December of 2006, it was certified platinum, making it the biggest album success for the band yet.

Quote: Shinedown’s highly anticipated third album, The Sound Of Madness, is due out on Atlantic Records on

June 24, 2008. The record opens with lead single "Devour." Its heavy onslaught of ripping guitars

and relentless drums would not sound out of place on a Guitar Hero soundtrack. Of the album,

frontman Brent Smith says "In the seven years of this thing called Shinedown, I’ve seen a lot of

different things - what we’ve all gone through on the road, things in our personal lives or

audience. I think the biggest thing was I didn’t want to sugarcoat the way life can be sometimes."

Their face-melting rock comes as no surprise, considering that the band hails from sultry

Them, have been RIAA-certified platinum and gold respectively and they have had songs featured on

the WWE, ESPN and in various video games. Shinedown will be out on the road this spring and summer,
