2014 සැප්තැම්බර් 6 වන දින රාත්‍රියේ අදහැලුනු ධාරානිපාත වර්ෂාවත් සමග ඇතිවූ ගංවතුර තත්වය නිසා අපගේ 52 , 53, 78 යන වැඩබිම් සම්පුර්ණයෙන්ම ජලයෙන් යටවිය. නොසිතූ මොහොතක පැමිණි මේ ගංවතුර හේතුවෙන් වැඩබිම් වල තිබූ යම් යම් උපකරන සහ බඩුභාහිරාදියද ජලයෙන් යටවි. දින ගනනාවකට පසු එම ගංවතුර තත්වය පහව ගිය අතර වැඩබිම් තුල ජල මට්ටමද ක්‍රමයෙන් පහල වැටින. පසුව කල සොයා බැලීම් වලදී ජලයට සමහරක් උපකරන සහ බඩුභාහිරාදිය ජලයේ ගසා ගෙන ගොස් ඇති බව තහවුරු විය.

ගංවතුර තත්වය ඇතිවූයේ අළුයම් කාලයේ බැවින් වැඩබිමේ එම අවස්ථාවේ රැදී සිටියේ ආරක්ෂක නිලධාරින් දෙදෙනා පමණි. ඔවුන් විසින් හැකි පමන යම යම උපකරන සහ භාන්ඩ අරක්ෂාකරී තැන් වලට ගෙන ගොස් තිබුනු අතර ජල මට්ටම ඉතා වේගයෙන් ඉහල යාම නිසා ඔවුනටද ඉන් ඉවත් වීමට සිදුවී ඇත.

මේ සිදුවීමෙන් අප ආයතනයට විශාල පාඩුවක් සිදුවූ අතර ජලයේ ගසාගෙන ගොස් තිබූ උපකරන සහ බඩුභාහිරාදිය නැවත මිලදී ගැනීම සහ ප්‍රවාහනය සඳහා අධික මුදලක් වැයකිරීමට සිදුවේ.

Due to the heavy rainfall on 2014 September 6th, our construction sites 52, 53 and 78 was completely flooded. After the water level had dropped, it was found out that many valuable items in the site had been washed away.


Since the flooding took place early morning, there had been only two security guards in the construction site. Despite the fact that they have been able to carry some items to safe places, the rapid rise in water level had forced them to leave the premises as a safety measure.


This natural disaster has caused our company a huge damage and the cost of organizing transportation to replace the lost items is high.

Last week 3 of our Construction slots/ sites named 52 53 & 78 destroyed due to a flood followed by the heavy rains on Saturday night 06th Sep .
During flooding everything washed away from the site including construction materials, some equipments and also some walls collapsed. ( and bla bla you can tell the damage to the construction )

According to 2 security guards, they were the only persons at duty that morning when the flood took place. They were able to move some equipments to the safe grounds, as the flood getting worse they have to give up.
Since the rainfall and flood that lasted () days, evacuation started after few days as we realised more than ()% of items destroyed due to overflowing water, making it a huge loss to our company

According to our estimations the loss is around 000000/=.

Sites 52,53,78 totally got flooded due to the heavy rain fell down on 6th September 2014. This unexpected flood caused some equipment in sites to get sunk. After few days flood level in sites gradually decreased. In the after math of the flood it was confirmed some equipment carried away with water.
There were only two security officers in sites when the flood started as it occurred at dawn. They had saved as many equipment as possible from the flood, but they had to give up their attempt as flood level rapidly increased.
The damage made by the flood for the company is enormous and large amounts of money will have to be spent to recover and transport equipment carried away with water.
