ayyo machan...
you sounded like an ngo nee..
its all with the nature..
survival of the strongest..
we put restrictions on them because of their own safety...
because most of the woman are easy to fool and mislead...
but there are few who can manage them selves...
and they do live with no problems in our society..
do you want your gf to wear a mini skirt on SL...
if do put an armed squad to protect her ok..
BTW there are many female Directors and Politicians in SL..
just read the papers..
anyways..
too much love can reduce the freedom..
;)

well, what i think is, we have our rights concerned more than it was before.
becoz now adays, although guys are more wilder, they are not tempted to rape so much isnt it? just becoz they can know abt sex in the net and everything, they arent so curious about it. that's about sex life.
but when talking about household stuff, we have to do almost every household wrk like we r de only ones living at home. but that's not fair. ou guys have to give at least a helping hand. we love to be free just like you. cmpard wit other countries, there u can see the husband and wife is working together sharing the work, although they both have jobs. but here????? ...... ok that's my idea. it mite be stupid :):)

Partly true.. bt not as many as u seems to think.. not everyone does that..only some sick fucks (mostly nakiyo) & in some occasions hav seen school boys jack gahanawa school gals lata... & hav seen them not complaining about it too... bt the latter thing is done for fun..neither party makes a big deal out of it..bt sexual harassment in buses should be Sevierly dealt with..sometimes people do beat the crap out of perverts when caught..

no where in the world women have equal rights, even in the west, it's only an ongoing struggle
US may have a woman president by next year, but, that doesnt mean anything to women's equal rights............
SL is one of the worst places to be a woman,
Female is mostly perceived as a sex object, or a baby making machine possesed by men..............
Sri Lanka has a long way to go..................................long way....
You are terribly mistaken. SL is one of the best places for a woman. We are ranking amongst top 50 countries for the education level of women. Our culture teaches us to look at women as our mother, sister or daughter. Women have so much autonomy over marriage when comaped to our Asian counterparts.

Women were given the rightful place in our society. Rightful changes according to the situation, Some times women are regarded higher than men in some activities (Especially avurudu rituals). 500 years of foreign occupation ruined it.

Your description more suits Arabic countries than SL.

Can a man walk in the road with his underware? Don't be silly. Limitations are there due to a good reason.

    How many women are doctors?
    How many are teachers?
How many are in the government service?
    How many get degrees?

Don't be selective. Just look at the big picture. SL is lacking basic human rights due to the terrorist activities. After solving it, we can address other problems, which are lower in the hierachy.

true! Sri Lanka has one of the biggest literacy rates in the world. and women make a big percentage of the workforce.

Well ya u guys may be right i'm wrong!
Actually i don't feel this i thought girls in EK will come and argue this point...
they don't even care! so why should i! If they don't care that means SL weman has every thing she needs.
I think you guys are right!
so no use continueing this thread! Sorry for wasting ur time but it helped me 2 understand this!
But keep this in mind this thread is not related to those human right things
that LTTE is doing to insult our country... some fools think lik that too...
