Women and child's bureau of the Sri Lanka police has received over 50 complaints against the social networking site Fcebook. They have received nearly 20 complaints within the last two months alone, the Daily Mirror newspaper reported.
The bureau has launched an investigation into these complaints. The perpetrators use Facebook account holder's name when they commit these acts. On inquiry from the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), he said, however, the TRC had not received complaints regarding the misuse of the Facebook, the report further said.
Women and child's bureau of Sri Lanka police has requested the TRC to look into the possibility to restrict access to the Facebook.
This social network site which has immense popularity universally was blocked in Pakistan in May when certain individuals had created blasphemous page relating to Prophet Mohammed. Two weeks later, however, Pakistan lifted the ban and said it would continue to block individual pages containing 'blasphemous' content.
Bangladesh also banned Facebook in May after the arrest of a youth for uploading satiric images of some politicians including the prime minister and the leader of the opposition

The most common reason is that spouses are conducting inappropriate sexual chats with Facebook friends.
