Father and son at first and last Space Shuttle launches, 30 years apart
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Thirty years ago when NASA launched the first space shuttle, a father and son were there to see it and someone took a picture of the pair. The two were back at the Kennedy Space Center last Friday to see Atlantis' final launch and again someone took a picture of them.
The photo taken on April 12, 1981 shows 13-year-old Chris Bray and his 39-year-old father Kenneth looking through binoculars at NASA's first shuttle launch. Then last Friday, a similar picture was taken when Atlantis launched. It show’s Chris as an adult and his father with gray hair this time, looking through binoculars in the same position as the previous picture.
On his Flickr page , next to the side by side images, Chris wrote the caption, "The picture we waited 30 years to complete."
