Can fdisk /mbr (version from win 98) be used instead of fixmbr (version from win XP pro) to fix the mbr in a sata 80GB HD that has win XP ?

Asking bcos, winXP cd not available. but old win98 boot floppy available and surprisingly can boot comp even now. Recognised HD and partitions. But HD size reported wrong.

Will it mess the HD or better find XP cd ?

(don't wanna try and find out in this case :P)

    thanks!

Well I found an XP CD.

Not many people would be using floppies or win98 these days
But sometimes these things come in useful

So if anyone any idea about fdisk /mbr (version from win 98) vs fixmbr (version from win XP pro) ?

    thanks
