01. LTTE never achieved superiority over the army in anything you mentioned ( tactics, morals & strategy )
any strategy ( military, governing, diplomatic ) didn't exist in Prabakaran's DNA
02. LTTE never had true public support ( they had initially during 1980-1990, then deteriorated, simply because the public was tired due to years of abuse from both the LTTE & the Gov, after 1995/200 Tamils just tolerated LTTE to stop being expelled or punished, that all)

- Yes, I dont dispute that. But the ensuing battles were only won due to the superior man/fire power. LTTE were always tactically, strategically and morally ahead. If LTTE had half the man/fire power that government forces had, LTTE victory would have been inevitable and swift.

Nobody has answers. Vietnam war irrelevant, US was not defeated on the battlefield, it was lost because eventually they lost the public support and had to withdraw and the communist government was formed.

-- You can't compare guerrillas army with a conventional army. To suppress a guerrillas army, conventional army needs 10x human power as per estimations of military theorists. SL army was scattered all over the country including the South so they didn't have enough manpower for an "ongoing" offensive attack. But LTTE was able to apply full force on a single location, attack and then move away. (For an example about 2000 LTTE cadre was participated for the Battle of Mullaitivu - 1996 which was a significant portion of their total strength)
Because of this lack of manpower Gen. Fonseka's one of initial priorities was increasing manpower for an offensive attack.
So your argument is baseless.

--Bulletproof Wests (body armor) limits mobility and I don't think body armors were used by SL army (even special forces) during close contact encounters in the North and East. Let alone body armor, some Army personnel didn't even have basic facilities (during 1990's and even early 2000's).

--Again LTTE is not a conventional army so they didn't need comparable strength and firepower to match with a conventional army unless they are on a face to face battle on an open ground that offered limited strategic and tactical advantages. Also they knew how to counter their weaknesses (Ex. SAM missiles/night attacks to counter air attacks) and that's how they were successful in 1990's and early 2000's. Army had all those advantages yet still lost some battles/operations those early days.

-- You may win battles, but "You can't win a war without a good strategy"..PERIOD.
As per above example (Battle of Mullaitivu) LTTE had 2000 personnel to face about 1400 SL forces during the early stage of the battle. As per your theory, it was an equal battle and SL Army should have won but they didn't. LTTE won because of their good strategy, tactics, and equally well execution with strong leadership.
So honestly you don't know what you are talking about.
PS: Also this is not an one off victory by Sri Lankan army.
Portuguese, Dutch, and British were never able to conquer the whole country even though they tried for 3 centuries. (Brits did that not from battles but from their dirty tactics). Sinhalese army used superior military strategies and tactics in those early days also....
