Hundreds of supporters mobbed presidential hopeful and former Army Commander General (Retd.) Sarath Fonseka as he toured his home town at Moragalla in Ambalangoda earlier today.
The former Army Commander was making his first visit to his native birth place ever since declaring his intention to run for the presidency as the opposition’s common candidate.
Mr. Fonseka mingled with fellow villagers, friends, relatives and students and past students of his Alma mater Dharamasoka College Ambalangoda.
He later offered flowers to the local Buddhist temple in the village.
