Real Madrid 3-2 Deportivo: Sergio Ramos steals win with late header

    sergio-ramos-real-madrid-deportivo-coruna-laliga-10122016_1cmmd9wi7x39k147d1ttxiuwa3.jpg

I only tuned into the matcch when we were 1-2 down. Were playing very disorganized and rushing everytime to get a goal :nerd:
Could've caught a couple of times in the counter but kept on pushing

Nice tactics by Zizou. He put in Mariano - a CF for Isco. And then Marcelo for danilo
Then played a very weird formation

3 center backs. But this time not Marcelo but Nacho, Casemiro & Pepe. Kroos in the middle. James a free role in front of kroos and in between marcelo and vazquez. Marcelo as a left wingback. And Vazquez as a right wing. Then Morata, Marino & Ramos as center forwards :lol:

Mariano's shoulder provided a goal. Then another injury timer by Ramos

Totally love our Drama :love: Our passion is one that is unmatched.

    Madrid

:(38 killed in terror attack at home of Besiktas, confirms Turkey's interior minister

    vodafone-arena-12102016_gwfjogm2cl3y1idvmccm9biqw.jpg

A car bomb that exploded outside Besiktas' stadium two hours after their match against Bursaspor on Saturday has killed 38 people were killed and another 155 wounded, Turkey's interior minister Suleyman Soylu has confirmed.

Images and TV footage showed what appeared to be the burnt-out shell of a car near the Vodafone Arena, with Soylu indicating that it had targeted a riot police bus. Most of the casualties are believed to be police.Deputy prime minister Numan Kurtulmus confirmed one of the attacks had been the explosion of a car bomb while the second was the act of a suicide bomber.

At a media conference on Sunday, Soylu announced that 30 police officers, seven civilians and one as of yet unidentified person had been killed in the explosions.
The Turkish Football Federation condemned the attacks, while Bursaspor confirmed their supporters had exited the stadium close to the scene of the attack before the explosion.

A Turkish Football Federation statement reads: "We learned with tremendous sorrow that a large number of policemen and our citizens were injured in the treacherous attack near the Vodafone Arena, Istanbul."We strongly condemn the barbarous terrorist attack and wish our citizens quick recovery."

The explosion took place around the area from which Bursaspor fans exited the stadium but the club has released a statement to confirm that none of their supporters remained in the vicinity.

"There was an explosion near the exit of the visitors' stands," the statement says. "We learned that about five minutes after the incident, our supporters had left that area."

The bomb was heard during a broadcast of a post-match show on Besiktas TV, with presenters subsequently fleeing off camera.

Bayern confident of Lewandowski and Robben renewals

    hd-robert-lewandowski_14xpgadx2pbd21p4fu842vjtjl.jpg

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness is confident both Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben will remain at the club as contract talks progress.

The Bundesliga champions returned to the top of the table on Saturday with a 5-0 win over Wolfsburg as Lewandowski and Robben starred and scored.

Lewandowski's deal with Bayern is due to expire in 2019, while Robben's runs out at the end of the season, but Hoeness believes both will extend their stays.

"As far as I know, the talks [with Lewandowski] are far progressed," he told Bild. "I don't think it will be a big problem."I am pretty sure [Robben] will stay with us."Lewandowski has struck 11 times in the league this term, with Robben contributing five goals.

Inter 2-0 Genoa: Brozovic double seals three points

    1s5rh4x5ffhas1t3tmzu23b5kl.jpg

Marcelo Brozovic scored twice as Inter beat Genoa 2-0 at San Siro to win their fourth consecutive Serie A home game. The Croatia international struck in each half as Inter prevailed, despite being made to work hard for victory.

Home goalkeeper Samir Handanovic made key saves and Genoa squandered a number of opportunities, but Brozovic - who had only scored once in the league prior to Sunday's game - proved decisive.

Stefano Pioli made five changes to the team that lost 3-0 to Napoli in their last league outing and his side rewarded him with a second victory in four Serie A matches since his arrival, moving up to eighth in the table as a result.

The visitors, meanwhile, stay 13th after suffering their first defeat in three games.
Genoa came so close to scoring a first-half opener on three occasions in the fog of San Siro.

Only a goal-line clearance from Danilo D'Ambrosio saved Inter early on after Tomas Rincon had fed Darko Lazovic, who skipped inside and beat Handanovic with his strike.

Lazovic turned creator when his threatening cross from the right somehow eluded Giovanni Simeone when the striker had appeared destined to score.

Inter were struggling to deal with the magnificent Lazovic, with the Serbia winger then finding Lucas Ocampos – in for ex-Inter man Goran Pandev as one of two Genoa changes – at the back post, Handanovic getting down superbly to keep out his header. And the visitors paid the price for those misses when Brozovic struck after 38 minutes.

Joao Mario's right-wing corner came out all the way to Brozovic and the midfielder controlled a fine right-footed finish into the bottom corner from just inside the penalty area.

Genoa made a strong start to the second half, with Simeone heading wide, before Handanovic made a wonderful save to deny Lazovic after good work from Ocampos had created the opportunity.

And Inter sealed victory with 21 minutes remaining. Joao Mario again created the goal with a superb solo run into the box and his square pass found Brozovic, who took one touch and finished confidently from 12 yards.

Genoa ran out of steam after that strike as they failed to repeat famous wins over AC Milan and Juventus from earlier in the campaign, the loss extending their winless away run to five games.

PSG 2-2 Nice: Cavani double spares champions' blushes as visitors go top of Ligue 1

    psg-nice-cavani_4sag6xmrflk814ykt9a1uul88.jpg

Paris Saint-Germain pulled off a second-half comeback as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with title rivals Nice and avoid a second consecutive Ligue 1 defeat.

The champions looked set to lose at Parc des Princes for the first time since March after Nice went 2-0 up through goals from Wylan Cyprien and Alassane Plea, but Unai Emery's side turned the game on its head after half-time.

Edinson Cavani scored twice inside the first 15 minutes of the second half to restore parity and PSG appeared poised to go on and win the game, but Lucien Favre's side settled the game down and ground out a point that takes them to the top of the Ligue 1 table.

The result will do little to ease the pressure on Emery, who badly needed a win to silence the criticisms levelled at his side following a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Montpellier in their last Ligue 1 outing and a 2-2 draw with Ludogorets in the Champions League.

While victory helped Nice leapfrog Monaco at the top of the table, PSG trail the leaders by four points and are lacking the consistency and swagger that saw them cruise to the title last season.

The ever-dangerous Serge Aurier created an early chance when he burst down the right flank and switched the ball to Layvin Kurzawa who thundered a shot goalwards but Yoan Cardinale was equal to it, saving low to his right.

Kurzawa was the champions' most effective attacking outlet and he jinked his way down the left wing before delivering a cross that Cavani would have scored from had Cardinale not been alert to the danger.

But all PSG's good early work was undone in a moment of brilliant from Cyprien, who curled an exquisite 25-yard free-kick beyond Alphonse Areola and into the net after 32 minutes.

Marco Verratti presented Cavani with a chance to equalise with a superb pass into the penalty area, but the Uruguayan miscued and Nice doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when Marquinhos and Thiago Silva failed to deal with Dalbert's cross and Plea stroked home an easy finish.

It took PSG just one minute of the second half to reduce the deficit, and the unmarked Cavani could hardly miss when Aurier's cross provided him with the easiest of volleys into the net from point-blank range.

Ricardo Pereira created a good chance for Cyprien, who blazed a shot from the edge of the box over the crossbar and Nice were made to rue his miss when Cardinale parried Kurzawa's cross into the shoulder of Dante, leaving Cavani with the simple task of rolling the ball over the line to make it 2-2.

Cavani thought he had scored a hat-trick when he side-footed Blaise Matuidi's cross into the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Favre sent on Mario Balotelli as he tried to swing the game back in Nice's favour, but it was PSG who created the best chance of the closing stages.

Cardinale made amends for his earlier error with a tremendous one-handed save from Kurzawa that kept the scores level in the dying seconds and ensured Nice their place at the Ligue 1 summit.

:yes:We should have killed Spurs off - Mourinho

    josemourinho-cropped_1x6ahz9tkyuj318iuqdjy0vknl.jpg

Manchester United did enough to beat Tottenham by more than a solitary goal after they ended a run of poor Premier League home form with a 1-0 victory, according to boss Jose Mourinho.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored his first Premier League goal after 29 minutes to put the home side ahead, and United survived a late spell of Spurs pressure to see out their first home win in the league since a 4-1 triumph over Leicester City in late September.

Despite Spurs having the bulk of the possession, United created the better of the goalscoring opportunities across the course of the game and Paul Pogba hit the frame of the goal with a free-kick in the second half.

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris also pulled off a number of good saves to deny United a second goal, but Mourinho was left relieved to have ended a run of three consecutive draws at home in the league.

He told Sky Sports: "We didn't deserve to spend the last 15 minutes with our hearts in our hands because we did enough to score a second goal and kill the game."The post and Lloris meant it was just 1-0 but at this moment 1-0 is magic because we needed these three points.

"Everybody was feeling that it could be more of the same. We had opportunities to score the second goal in the first half and the second half but we didn't score. Then we are always at risk."

Mourinho, who named an unchanged line-up from the side that drew 1-1 against Everton a week earlier, added: "I didn't change the team from Everton to this match because the team is playing well.

"Now we go away to Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion. Life is not easy but we are happy with the evolution of the team and we are happy because the players believe in what we are doing."

Costa winner was wonderful, concedes Pulis

    costa-cropped_sss7xilzybr71tqtblh7pb2kn.jpg

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis was frustrated to see one mistake cost his side an impressive result against Premier League leaders Chelsea, but conceded Diego Costa had scored a "wonderful goal" to beat them.

Costa struck with just under 14 minutes remaining to give Chelsea a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, their ninth consecutive top-flight victory to return them to the summit.

But the striker's curling winner only arrived after a mistake from Baggies defender Gareth McAuley, with Pulis ruing how close his team had come to a surprise point after working all week to devise a plan that countered the hosts' 3-4-3 system.

"The goal was disappointing because Gareth should have dealt with it, but I have got no qualms with him," said Pulis, whose side lost for the first time since October.
"To get beat by that one mistake – and it's a wonderful goal from Costa – is so disappointing, but we move on.

"Our structure and organisation was very good. One mistake, one chance and the fella puts it away – that is the difference in quality that separates the teams at the top.

"It is disappointing because Gareth has got to deal with it. He's made a mistake and we move on. We don't really want to criticise anyone.

"They are a very hard working group of players – I'm very disappointed for them. Our supporters will go home very disappointed, but having watched a very honest, hard-working team that very nearly pulled it off.

"I was happy all the way through the game. They play a different shape system to most teams in the Premiership. We had a good week to work on it. We were well set up without possession and caused them some problems on the break, particularly in the first half."

The defeat leaves West Brom eighth in the table ahead of their next match at home to Swansea City on Wednesday.

'It looks like nothing dangerous' - Mourinho provides injury update on Mkhitaryan

    hd-henrikh-mkhitaryan-man-utd_x4kcl3e5h2ur1w4yjkcdeywjv.jpg

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed Henrikh Mkhitaryan avoided picking up a serious injury during the 1-0 win over Tottenham on Sunday.

The Armenian gave United the lead after 29 minutes of Sunday's Premier League game to build on his recent string of encouraging performances, but had to be carried off on a stretcher after going over on his left ankle when challenged by Danny Rose in the 85th minute.

But Mourinho has calmed fears Mkhitaryan will be out for a while, predicting he will miss their next two games against Crystal Palace and West Brom but should return for the Boxing Day clash against Sunderland.

He told MUTV: "It looks like the next match no, but it looks like nothing really dangerous or needing surgery.

"Hopefully we will have Mickey on Boxing Day."Mkhitaryan's goal marked his first in the Premier League since joining from Borussia Dortmund and came after he opened his account for the club in the 2-0 win over Zorya Luhansk on Thursday that sealed United's passage into the last 32 of the Europa League.

Liverpool could have had two penalties - Klopp

    klopped-cropped_1494zdrsbwyn41kc9xfczmwwfe.jpg

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool could have been given two penalties as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to West Ham United on Sunday.

Despite taking the lead early on through Adam Lallana, the Reds ultimately ended up needing Divock Origi's effort early in the second half just to secure a point against their struggling visitors.

Michail Antonio added to Dimitri Payet's free-kick just before the break – with both goals putting goalkeeper Loris Karius in the spotlight again after an error-strewn display last week against Bournemouth – but Payet was perhaps lucky to avoid conceding a penalty for a challenge on Lallana in first-half stoppage time.

"I'm pretty sure one or two [penalties] could have been given," Klopp told Sky Sports. "Adam Lallana late in the first half, it could have been a penalty. But it is what it is.

"Second half, handball with Winston Reid. Then there was Divock Origi in the box with a challenge."It felt like the whole time we were in their box, but West Ham were there too. You need a little luck."

West Ham's first goal saw Payet exploit Karius' poor positioning at a free-kick, while the goalkeeper hesitated for the second after Joel Matip was caught flatfooted.Klopp acknowledged that both goals were avoidable, but he refused to openly castigate the two players.

"They fought for everything," he added. "All the goals everyone could do better.
"For the first goal - don't make the foul, don't lose the ball. The second goal was unlucky.

"Joel Matip made a fantastic game and in this moment he couldn't clear the ball – he couldn't react quickly. Loris Karius was surprised and it was too late."Obviously we all could have done better. You have to stay strong in the game."

'Man Utd better under Mourinho than Van Gaal' - Neville

    jose-mourinho-manchester-united-2016_196z4z41ze3qw1479o8bbwn6v4.jpg

Gary Neville has been impressed by Manchester United’s showings in recent weeks and admits that he likes the current side "a lot more" than the one pieced together by Louis van Gaal. The Red Devils have endured another tough opening to a Premier League season, with Jose Mourinho thus far unable to shake a sleeping giant from its slumber.

Performances have deserved greater reward, though, with United considering themselves unfortunate to have seen so many points slip away.A more attractive brand of football is being played under Mourinho, and that has helped to keep the fans on side.

That was not always the case under the previous management regime, with Van Gaal’s dogged approach delivering tangible reward – in the form of FA Cup success – but winning few admirers.

Neville believes United have moved positively away from that approach, with pace added to their ranks and a defensive formula stumbled upon that works better in practice than it does on paper."I know that over the last few weeks Jose Mourinho has been criticised at times," he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.

"When you don't win games and you say your team are playing well and it will come, but it doesn't, you can sometimes look a little bit foolish as a coach."But I've said it before, I like this team a lot better than the team of last season, even though they might be in a worse points position.

"I like the way they are playing more. I like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and I like the way Anthony Martial has played in the last couple of weeks on the left. There's pace back in the team.

"They have a centre-forward that holds the ball up and they have a midfield that is mobile with Carrick as the composure with Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in front.

"It's a better-balanced team and even though the back four doesn't look great on paper, it's performing really, really well. Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones have really been good these last few weeks.

"Mourinho has stumbled on something a little bit with that back four, but in terms of the team I like them a lot more than last season. As a Manchester United fan I like them more."They have to go on now and kick on from this and win game after game and get the results the performances have been suggesting.”

United returned to winning ways on Sunday, with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford breaking a run of three straight draws in the Premier League and lifting them to within six points of the top four.

    Wenger wants to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain

    oxlade-chambaerlain-cropped_81hxbed2es7d1ah6vkrpe3o9z.jpg

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists he wants to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club. The England international is out of contract in 2018 and reports have suggested talks are yet to begin over an extension.

Wenger was reluctant to discuss the ongoing contract negotiations involving Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, but stressed Oxlade-Chamberlain was a player he wants to keep."I want Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay at the club," Wenger said ahead of Arsenal's trip to Everton on Tuesday.

"I bought him at a very young age and think he is developing well."This season he is making steps and moving forward. Overall we have invested so much time and work in the player."The player loves it here, he is integrated and has the qualities we want him to have. We want him to stay."

Wenger insisted Oxlade-Chamberlain’s position as a winger means he is more likely to be substituted after club legend Ian Wright suggested the 23-year-old was frustrated at not getting the full 90 minutes in matches.Oxlade-Chamberlain has been taken off in six of his seven Premier League starts this season."We are a squad of 25 people," added Wenger.

"Some managers want even more changes in the game. It's a position where the physical demands are most important and one that is subject more to being changed than a central defender."In some positions the changes are more frequent. The position has demands that are higher than any other on the flanks – you have to be up and down, dangerous going forward.

"Oxlade-Chamberlain is much more efficient going forward now. He provided a good final ball for Ozil [against Stoke City] on Saturday and can score goals himself, that’s what you want from him."

Wenger: Chelsea are NOT title favourites

    costa-chelsea-vs-west-brom_17ex9rfjqyfva1tukbie8zn3yj.jpg

Arsene Wenger believes Chelsea are candidates to win the Premier League, but does not feel any team has earned the right to be called favourites.Chelsea sit top of the table after 15 matches, three points clear of Arsenal and on a winning streak of nine consecutive top-flight matches.

Arsenal draw Bayern in Champions League But Arsenal themselves have not suffered a league defeat since the opening day against Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp’s side, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United making up the rest of the top six.

And Gunners boss Wenger thinks the title race remains wide open, with consistency over the busy festive period vital to any side's hopes of glory."What I believe is they [Chelsea] will be one of the candidates," Wenger said ahead of his side's trip to Everton on Tuesday.

"They are of course one of the teams doing extremely well, but there is no super favourite in there at the moment.

"They will have to maintain that like everybody else at the top. When you look at the league it is down to consistency."It is very open, very interesting. Every time a team is the favourites to win, they struggle.

"When you look at the teams around us, you can see the margin of difference between the teams has shrunk a lot.

"The way you respond in every game is absolutely vital. It's a very important period where everybody has to be absolutely focused on our results and the way we want to play."

Ibrahimovic: Why the Premier League is different

    zlatan-ibrahimovic-premier-league-swansea-v-man-utd-06116_1bshmu9j1i2lu1wayz6u3l1skc.jpg

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has described the key difference between the Premier League and other top European leagues.

The 35-year-old moved to England for the first time in his career during the summer after spells in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France, winning the league with all six clubs after leaving Malmo where he started his career.

Manchester United got back to winning ways on Sunday as they beat Tottenham to end their three-game winless streak and Ibrahimovic feels the Premier League is far tougher than other challenges he has faced.

"This is the Premier League, it's something new to me," he told MUTV. "Because every team I've played at we have been dominating competitions and controlling games."Here, it's back to front. I think, here, whoever does the less mistakes during the game is the team that wins."

United triumphed 1-0 over Tottenham thanks to Henrikh Mkhitaryan's fine first-half strike, three days after opening his account away to Zorya Luhansk.

Ibrahimovic is delighted the fellow summer signing is starting to prove his worth at United after initially struggling to break into Jose Mourinho's first team and underlined his importance in the squad.

He added: "He scored a fantastic goal in Ukraine and [on Sunday it was] a great goal. He is dominating in his role. Hopefully the injury is not as bad as it looks. He is important for us and that's why the team and coach bought him. I'm super happy for him."

Mkhitaryan was stretchered off midway through the second half with an ankle injury following a challenge by Danny Rose, though Mourinho said after the game that he does not expect the midfielder to miss more than two games.

Henry pleads with Alexis & Ozil to stay at Arsenal

    hd-mesut-ozil-alexis-sanchez_1tqgu9fqn7md91nneg96lpewl5.jpg

Thierry Henry admits that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are "the future" for Arsenal as speculation regarding their respective futures at Emirates Stadium rumbles on.

Both men are tied to deals that are due to run past the end of the 2016-17 campaign, but the Gunners are understandably reluctant to see either enter the final 12 months of their current agreements. No extensions have been put in place as yet, though, and that has sparked inevitable transfer rumours.

Ozil and Sanchez are key figures for Arsene Wenger, with their arrivals helping to take the club in a different direction as the purse strings were loosened in north London.

The pair have been in sparkling form this season, with their efforts helping to put Arsenal in contention for the Premier League title.

Gunners legend Henry concedes that keeping them at the club is imperative, and he hopes that progress in talks has been made "behind closed doors".The Frenchman told Sky Sports News: “I think Arsene and the club are clever enough to know that they have to secure those deals. “Are they both going to stay? I would want them to, but you don’t know what is happening behind closed doors.

“We all know how important Mesut Ozil is and we now know even more how important Alexis Sanchez is. Him playing in the middle has, for me, been the difference this year. What he can do is amazing, on and off the ball.

“You would like to think that maybe it has already been done and we don’t know about it. You would like them to stay. If you are an Arsenal fan you want them to stay because they are the future of the club.“If you want to build a future, they are the future. You need to build a team around those guys.

“Mesut Ozil has been there for a little while, Alexis Sanchez arrived after, but when you have guys like that, then you have more chance to win things. Arsenal Football Club will always be there, but you want those guys around to win titles.

“Would it be a blow if they left? Yes, it would be a massive blow, but the club is not going to die if they leave. That said, they have to stay!”

Sanchez has netted 11 Premier League goals so far this season, while Ozil took his tally in all competitions to nine with a solitary effort in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Stoke City.

:cool:Arsenal v Bayern, Barcelona v PSG and Man City v Monaco in Champions League last 16 draw

    champions-league-trophy_1fg2917blaaln19zax9isyzn5d.jpg

Arsenal will once again meet Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16, while Manchester City will face high-flying Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

The Gunners found themselves in the same group as the German giants last term, winning 2-0 at the Emirates but going down 5-1 away from home. They also met at this stage in 2012-13 and 2013-14, with Bayern progressing on both occasions.

City made it to the semi-finals of the competition in 2015-16, defeating French opposition along the way in the form of PSG, and will be looking to stake another serious claim for the famous trophy under Pep Guardiola.

Real Madrid will take on Serie A side Napoli, as they look to defend the crown they claimed under Zinedine Zidane last season.

Barcelona face a tough test against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 - who they faced in the group stage last term and the quarter-finals back in 2014-15 and 2012-13 - while Leicester City's continental adventure will continue against Sevilla, with the reigning Premier League champions having impressed so far.

The other ties at the first knockout stage will see Benfica tackle Borussia Dortmund, Porto lock horns with Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen attempt to halt the charge of 2015-16 beaten finalists Atletico Madrid.

The last-16 draw in full, first-leg ties to be played February 14-15 and 21-22:
