I think we are well stocked in No 10. We have Miki, Mata and Pereira back from loan as well. Beside, Jose loves to play big Fella in No 10 in certain matches.

The way we play, Lingard and Young can slot in there as well if needed. :)

Having said that I would have love to have that option of signing James under loan.:P

'We were all behind him' - Bayern bite back after Lewandowski claims

    robert-lewandowski-bayern-munich_1dkt2ietspigd18cmcueqdgh6y.jpg

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists Robert Lewandowski's team-mates were fully behind his bid to end the season as Bundesliga's top scorer.

Lewandowski had to settle for second behind Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and blamed a lack of support from his colleagues in the final match of the season against Freiburg.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has since rejected any suggestion Lewandowski - who scored 30 goals compared to Aubameyang's 31 - is unsettled at the Allianz Arena, and Rummenigge says the Pole's perception is wide of the mark."I have been talking to Maik Barthel, the agent of Robert Lewandowski, and asked him what the problem actually was," Rummenigge told a news conference.

"He said that Robert felt a little bit lacking in support in the last league game against Freiburg. I replied that I don't see this at all like that, and that I want to remind him that Robert had a few chances himself, which his team-mates did create for him.

"And I want to remind people that there were two chances Arturo Vidal had, where he didn't hit the empty net and maybe didn't pass the way he should have.

"I can say his team-mates wanted him to get the Golden Boot but it just didn't work out in the end. Lewi scored one, Aubameyang scored two, that happens.

"But I think when you score 60 Bundesliga goals in two seasons, then you can be satisfied, even without the scoring title."The coach also told me that he advised the other players to help Lewi especially so that he could win the scoring title. It didn't happen, but no problem".

'Alexis Sanchez will definitely stay at Arsenal'

    alexis-sanchez-cropped_10y0rf9rsrdl913h7lnpxobc3u.jpg

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker believes Alexis Sanchez will "definitely" remain at the club for the coming season.Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich reported to be among his potential suitors.

But asked whether he saw the Chile international - who has a year remaining on his contract - staying with the Gunners, Mertesacker told Fox Sports: "Yes, definitely.
"We have a strong squad and we do not want to lose any players.

"Even in their final contract year we need them. We cannot afford to lose them. If you're talking about championships, to keep our best player is key."

Mertesacker added that a restless Sanchez was keen to get back to work after helping his country to the Confederations Cup final in Russia."I think he was impressive in the Confederations Cup," said the German, who will retire at the end of the coming season. "He's now on holiday, so it's quiet in terms of conversations.

"But he's a warrior on the pitch. I think he wants to come back as quickly as possible – he hates holidays, he hates to calm down."I'm looking forward to playing alongside him in my last season and he thinks the same."

Aubameyang transfer talk not going away, admits Dortmund coach

    pierre-emerick-aubameyang-borussia-dortmund-27052017_wdhtdcnea1j91fw1v71jja5yo.jpg

Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz has acknowledged speculation surrounding the future of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is here to stay.

Aubameyang, 28, has been heavily linked with a massive €80 million move to Tianjin Quanjian in recent weeks, with the Chinese club having until Friday to find a way to force through a move.

Milan are also reported to be interested in acquiring the Gabon international, who scored 40 goals in 46 appearances for Dortmund last season.

Chelsea, too, have been linked with a bid for Aubameyang after missing out on the signing of Romelu Lukaku, who joined rivals Manchester United instead. And Bosz has now admitted that he expects rumours to circulate for the duration of the transfer window.

"Auba is here and has trained,” he said after Dortmund trained in front of their own fans.“This is what counts for me. The fact that there will be speculation until the end of August is clear.”

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been mooted as potential destinations for one of the Bundesliga's top goalscorers in recent months.

Douglas Costa set for Juve medical ahead of move from Bayern

    douglas-costa-bayern-munich_b38tu792k4ph1821ekglxlxwv.jpg

Douglas Costa is set to undergo a medical at Juventus on Wednesday ahead of an initial loan move from Bayern Munich.

The Italian side have agreed to pay a loan fee of €6 million, and the club has an obligation to buy Costa for a fee of €40m.

The Brazil international struggled for game time throughout the 2016-17 season, making just 23 Bundesliga appearances, though he did score four goals and provided six assists.

Once his loan is complete Costa will sign a five-year permanent contract, worth €6m per year.

Juve have embarked on an aggressive summer of recruitment, signing Juan Cuadrado on a permanent deal from Chelsea, Rodrigo Bentancur from Boca Juniors and Medhi Benatia from Bayern.

Bayern appear to have already signed the Brazilian's replacement, confirming the acquisition of James Rodriguez on an initial loan deal on Tuesday.

Costa, who was also linked with Tottenham, has made a total of 77 appearances for Bayern, scoring 14 goals, and also made over 200 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine.

Dani Alves to snub Man City and sign two-year PSG deal

    dani-alves-juventus-2017_iaqibhj5yij81oswex8yc9kbz.jpg

Dani Alves is expected to renege on his move to Manchester City to sign a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain.The Brazilian right-back, who became a free agent last month after severing his ties with Juventus, was believed to have agreed to play under Pep Guardiola in 2017-18.

Man City felt they had made a major breakthrough in their pursuit of Alves midway through June and it was quickly established that they had agreed the terms of a two-year contract with him. However, PSG appear to have gazumped their Champions League rivals and have flown newlywed Alves and wife, Joana Sanz, into the French capital to put pen-to-paper on a contract.

It's not known why Alves changed his mind on signing for City, but Goal understands that the 34-year-old will have a medical in Paris on Tuesday and the transfer will be confirmed shortly afterwards.

City identified Alves as a target in April but had hoped to complete the signings of Tottenham’s Kyle Walker and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy before reuniting the ex-Barcelona man with his former boss, Guardiola.

Alves is the first high-profile signing of the summer for Paris Saint-Germain, who had bid a world-record €135 million for Monaco's Kylian Mbappe last month.

He spent eight years at Barcelona between 2008 and 2016, widely being regarded as the best right-back in the world for much of that time, before leaving in acrimonious circumstances as he didn't feel appreciated.

Alves played a prominent role in Juventus reaching the Champions League final, which was his final game for the Italian club, and won the domestic double.

Donnarumma signs new four-year contract at AC Milan

    gianluigi-donnarumma-ac-milan_ajnjxrulaast1c4oaoe4d9h9x.jpg

Gianluigi Donnarumma has signed a new four-year deal with AC Milan to disappoint a host of high-profile suitors.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who had been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, has brought the long-running saga over his future to an end by committing to the San Siro club until 2021.

Donnarumma, who is represented by agent Mino Raiola, had rejected an offer to extend his contract beyond 2018, but the promise of improved terms – thought to be €6million a year – have encouraged a change of heart.

The news comes after prolonged speculation over Donnarumma's intentions, with the Italy international having been widely tipped to leave.

He deleted his Instagram account and claimed it was hacked during the European Under-21 Championship after a string of mixed messages on social media and also had fake money thrown at him by angry supporters during Italy's match against Denmark in that competition.

Donnarumma's decision to stay will further bolster Vincenzo Montella's plans for 2017-18, with the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio, Andre Silva and Fabio Borini having been brought in.Donnarumma became the second-youngest goalkeeper to play in Serie A when he made his Milan debut as a 16-year-old in 2015.

He has since cemented his position as the club's No.1 stopper and became the youngest goalkeeper to play for Italy at 17 years and 189 days in 2016.

'Lukaku can make Man Utd title winners' - Osman backs £75m striker to be Mourinho's missing piece

    hd-romelu-lukaku-everton_1jc00fhsx7axjzyxoerojwinv.jpg

Romelu Lukaku could prove to be the difference-maker in Manchester United’s Premier League title quest, claims Leon Osman. The Belgium international has completed a £75 million move to Old Trafford from Everton .

Osman played alongside the burly frontman at Goodison Park, so is well aware of the impact that he is capable of making.

He believes that the 24-year-old could be the final piece of the jigsaw for Jose Mourinho, with his reputation as a flat-track bully considered to be a positive given United’s struggles to grind out wins against the so-called lesser sides in 2016-17.

Osman told BBC Sport : "It's an incredibly big price tag but you've got a player who could turn those draws into wins for Manchester United."That could potentially be a championship for them."He'll bring goalscoring. It's as simple as that, an ability to find the back of the net.

"Barring Ibrahimovic, that was Manchester United's big falling down last season.
"That's Lukaku's forte. He's been criticised for only doing it in the games against lesser clubs."They're the games in which United struggled at home last season so it should be a good fit."

Lukaku set a new personal best in terms of goals scored last season, with the target found 26 times in just 39 appearances .He pushed Tottenham’s Harry Kane close in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, passing the 50-goal mark in English top-flight competition in the process.

His haul also included four efforts against top six sides, as he endeavoured to dispel the myth that he struggles to deliver on the big stage.

Man Utd name Carrick as new captain following Rooney departure

    michael-carrick-wayne-rooney-manchester-united_1r0hr8gehjpne1s1hovsyl9xsz.jpg

Michael Carrick has been named the new captain of Manchester United, replacing departed striker Wayne Rooney.

Rooney was appointed skipper by former boss Louis van Gaal, but England's record goalscorer ended his 13-year stay at Old Trafford this week to return to Everton after falling down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.Mourinho has handed long-serving Carrick – who had a testimonial to mark his 11 seasons at the club last month – the armband at Old Trafford.

"I feel great, it's such a huge honour to captain such a great club," Carrick told MUTV. "Obviously it's my 12th year here now, I came as a 25-year-old and I never thought I could be here this long and achieve so much.

"I'll try to lead the boys and guide the young boys in some ways. It's a nice thing to be [captain] and it's a real pleasure. I came to this club as a footballer and I'm now a huge fan. I've grown to love the club over the years and to be in this position is very special to me.

"I'll just be myself, you can't change, it's wrong to suddenly get a role and start shouting and screaming at everyone and telling them what to do. I'm not like that, I'll speak when I need to speak but I'm quite laid-back and chilled out. I'll try and lead by example."

Carrick only started 18 Premier League matches last season, but signed a one-year contract extension in May.

During his time at Old Trafford, Carrick has won five Premier League titles, three League Cups, one FA Cup and the Champions League and is now United's longest serving player after Rooney's departure.Following Rooney's exit earlier this week, Carrick played tribute to his former team-mate.

"Blew me away by how good he was from day 1," Carrick wrote on Twitter on Monday. "Outrageous. Had ups n downs but what a ride we've been on. Gonna miss him. Good luck Pal #Legend."

Man City outcast Nasri has Chinese and Italian options to consider, claims agent

    samir-nasri-sevilla_wolagl7df3sf1812ixrq7qgfi.jpg

Samir Nasri has options to consider in China and Italy as he prepares to head for the Manchester City exits, claims the midfielder’s agent.

The France international was among those deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of Pep Guardiola as manager in the summer of 2016.Like Joe Hart, Nasri was allowed to spend last season away from England on loan, with La Liga side Sevilla snapping him up.

He is now back at City for pre-season training but is expected to be on the move again during the current transfer window, with CSL clubs expressing an interest and the presence of Monchi at Roma sparking talk of a possible switch to the Serie A side.

Nasri’s representative, Alain Migliaccio, told Romanews.eu on his client’s future: “The player is still owned by Manchester City and we are evaluating several issues.“There is the possibility of a transfer to China. With regards to Italy, there are two clubs interested who we have already talked to. They are top level teams.

“Monchi wanted him at Sevilla and knows him well. A city and a squad like Roma could certainly be very interesting for Nasri. That’s where the motivation comes from.

“Monchi knows what he wants and where he wants to go. He already has the project in mind: he sold important players, but has the right alternatives in his pocket.

“We want to understand the structure of the Roma option and work out if Samir can really fit into the Roma project. As far as we’re concerned, we want to evaluate the situation well and understand the project.

“Nasri really likes the city, but a move to Rome would also depend on who is leaving from the midfield - Monchi is evaluating it.“Samir can work in the centre as well as going wide. There will certainly be surprises and there are many things to be evaluated.”

Nasri joined City from Arsenal for £25 million in 2011 and has tasted two Premier League title triumphs and a FA Cup win with the club.He has made more than 170 appearances, scoring 26 goals, but managed just one outing under Guardiola before being moved on.

The 30-year-old signed a new five-year contract at the Etihad in 2014 so is tied to City for another two years if they are unable to get a deal done this summer.

'Matic fits the bill for Man Utd' - Neville feels Chelsea midfielder would be a shrewd addition

    nemanja-matic_xp9lkfe7meqw1aifc5jk6f0yt.jpg

Manchester United’s interest in Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic makes sense to Gary Neville, with Jose Mourinho in need of another holding option. The Red Devils have offered a 12-month contract extension to Michael Carrick in that area of the field, and made him club captain in the wake of Wayne Rooney’s departure.

They also saw Ander Herrera shine in a defensive midfield post last season, earning him the club’s Player of the Year award.Neville is, however, of the opinion that United need more cover and feels Matic, as a proven Premier League performer, would tick all of the boxes.

The legendary former full-back told Sky Sports: "Michael Carrick has obviously got one more year but he can't play every single week so they do need to have that player who can come in and do the same job"And Nemanja Matic would be able to do that. So I think United do need a holding midfield player.

"Morgan Schneiderlin was let go earlier in the season and Bastian Schweinsteiger didn't get a game."So you're talking about there needing to be a replacement for them and ultimately Matic would fit the bill."

Matic helped Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2016-17, the second time he has claimed that particular trophy since being brought back to England by Mourinho in January 2014.

The 28-year-old impressed alongside N’Golo Kante, with Cesc Fabregas providing a further option, and Neville is surprised to see Antonio Conte considering a sale.He added: "It's a strange one for Chelsea to let him go because I thought he was really good for them with Kante.

"I think they need to strengthen, so I'm not sure why they're letting him and they must have a replacement."Chelsea have been heavily linked with Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, with that interest sparking the Matic to United talk. The Red Devils are also said to be considering the Frenchman, though, along with Tottenham’s England international Eric Dier.

James Rodriguez didn't have the character to succeed at Madrid – Sanchez

    james-rodriguez-cropped_il1fspdqyc9j1j901d09oxe4i.jpg

Former Real Madrid star Hugo Sanchez believes James Rodriguez lacked the character to play for the La Liga and Champions League titleholders.James ended his time with Madrid on Tuesday, moving to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal with the option of a permanent transfer.

The 25-year-old fell down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu following Zinedine Zidane's arrival in January 2016 – starting just 13 La Liga matches as Madrid dethroned Barcelona last season.

James will now reunite with former boss Carlo Ancelotti but Sanchez – who won five La Liga titles during his time in the Spanish capital – questioned the Colombia international."James needed to prove to Zidane that he can trust him in every game, not just the once but also the next one," Sanchez told Radio MARCA.

"One's character has to harden and that's what James was missing."To play for Real Madrid, you have to put a little more in."Sanchez is also hopeful Madrid can keep hold of Spanish forward Alvaro Morata amid growing speculation of an off-season departure.

Morata was tipped to join Manchester United before they signed Romelu Lukaku, while Premier League champions Chelsea have emerged as a possible destination as the former Juventus star searches for more game time.Despite the uncertainty, Morata was included in Madrid's 26-man squad for the International Champions Cup in the United States.

"To sell Morata is a luxury that I hope is not necessary," Sanchez added."It is clear that he prefers to be playing than warming the bench, and especially given that next year there is a World Cup, where he wants to start for the Spanish national side."

'I joined Arsenal for the challenge' - Lacazette excited to prove himself in Premier League

    lacazette_1qc27ir5pvqfp1ikj6x42usc4f.jpg

Alexandre Lacazette has expressed delight at moving to Arsenal, admitting that he joined the club 'for the challenge.'The France international forward became the club's record signing after moving from Lyon for £52 million, but already feels part of Arsene Wenger's squad.

He has been impressed with what he has seen so far at the club, and is looking forward to making his first appearance."I'm very happy to be in Arsenal colours and I'm eager to play for Arsenal," the 26-year-old told reporters.

"I joined Arsenal for the challenge and playing in the Premier League is very important. It's the best league in the world and Arsenal play fantastic football.

"I feel very well. They train technically and physically, which is comparable to what I'm used to. I feel really integrated by the rest of the squad."Lacazette is due to make his Gunners debut on Thursday, July 13 against Sydney FC, with the Gunners also taking on Western Sydney Wanderers two days later during their pre-season trip to Australia.

Arsenal then travel to China to compete in the International Champions Cup, where they will face Bayern Munich and Chelsea before returning to England to meet Benfica and Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.

'I'm still an Arsenal player' - Giroud plays down transfer speculation

    olivier-giroud-arsenal_poej2mpgnj0y1x6rpnyaqyn93.jpg

Olivier Giroud has admitted he is not sure what will happen regarding his future at Arsenal, but is prepared to face the pressure if he stays at the club.

The Gunners signed Alexandre Lacazette for a club record £52 million from Lyon and he is expected to be Arsene Wenger's first-choice striker next season, meaning Giroud faces a battle for a place in the team.

Giroud started just 11 Premier League games last season, but scored 12 goals in 29 league appearances for Arsenal. However, the arrival of his fellow Frenchman could see those starts further reduced, and it has been speculated he may leave the club.West Ham and Everton have both been linked, but the 30-year-old is adamant that he does not know if he will move during the transfer window.

"Honestly, I don't know at the moment but I'm still an Arsenal player so I try to be professional like I always have done and prepare well for next season," Giroud told reporters.

"Obviously there will be more competition, even more than last year, but it's always nice for a striker to feel the pressure. I always deal with it."I've been through some difficulties these last years but I always succeed to bounce back. This one, I don't know. This year I don't know about my future so I can't tell you more. I'm focused on pre-season."

PSG beat Man City to Alves by offering whopping £230,000-per-week deal

    dani-alves-embed_wkak9dd22bn81rxhmii1lys08.jpg

Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City in the race for Dani Alves by offering the Brazilian a huge contract worth £230,000 per week, Goal understands.

City had reached a verbal agreement with Alves more than a fortnight ago and had been so confident that he would be joining the club that they had already arranged media activities for him on their pre-season tour of the United States.

As late as Tuesday afternoon, City chiefs were still expecting the right-back to arrive in Manchester later this week, only to see him land in Paris to undergo a medical.

The French club's offer is almost double what City had agreed with Alves, who persuaded Juventus to cancel his contract by insisting he wanted to work with Pep Guardiola once again.

City were caught on the hop by Alves' decision and Guardiola, who dined with the Brazilian last Friday, is said to be livid at missing out on the player he coached at Barcelona.

Sources in France have suggested City made a last-ditch counter offer to Alves, matching what he would earn in Paris, though City officials insist they were unwilling to go anywhere near those figures and will now turn their attentions elsewhere.

City want to bring in four full-backs this summer and remain confident they will land Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker, as well as left-backs Benjamin Mendy, of Monaco, and Ryan Bertrand, of Southampton.

The Blues have been working hard to close a deal for Mendy over the past 10 days and are determined to have the France international in the squad for Monday's flight to the United States for pre-season.

City had been planning to sign Alves since April but will now have to find an alternative option for the second right-back role, having already scouted and discounted several options from across Europe.

:cool:Pereira eager to impress Mourinho in search of Man Utd role

    pereira-cropped_14pw8a91zb7991pdoej41qe3kq.jpg

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is eager to impress Jose Mourinho on the club's pre-season tour to the United States so he can earn himself a place in the first-team squad.

Pereira spent last season on loan at Granada, who were relegated from La Liga, but is back with United and training with the first-team squad, including new signing Romelu Lukaku.

The 21-year-old hopes he can do enough to catch Mourinho's attention and boost his chances of adding to a tally of five Premier League appearances with the club.
"I am very happy that I am back and I can be part of this team," Pereira told MUTV.
