Everton 2 Hajduk Split 0: Keane opens account in comfortable Europa League win

Michael Keane and Idrissa Gueye were unlikely goalscorers as a dominant Everton display was rewarded with a 2-0 Europa League win against Hajduk Split in their play-off round first leg.

The Toffees secured a comfortable advantage at Goodison Park with Keane – who scored his first Everton goal in front of watching England manager Gareth Southgate – and Gueye making the difference.

Everton paraded club-record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson prior to kick-off and there was further reason to celebrate when Keane headed home the opener in the 30th minute.

The match was disrupted by clashes between Hajduk supporters and stewards, with referee Ivan Kruzliak temporarily calling the players off the pitch and away from the unrest.

However, Ronald Koeman's side remained in their groove upon the restart and, while they had recorded 1-0 wins in each of their three prior competitive matches this term, there appeared little chance of the visitors holding them to just the one goal.

Gueye doubled Everton's lead before the interval and the hosts then delivered a professional second-half performance to see out a fourth successive clean sheet and take a two-goal advantage to Croatia.

Sigurdsson was presented to the home fans before kick-off and his new team-mates soon put Hajduk under pressure, with Wayne Rooney leading the line and nodding the first chance high and wide from Kevin Mirallas' corner.

Rooney teed up Ademola Lookman to tease a low centre across the face of goal, just beyond the stretching left boot of Davy Klaassen, and a series of dangerous deliveries from Cuco Martina caused the visitors further problems before Everton deservedly led.

Leighton Baines stood up a cross from a half-cleared set-piece for Keane to power a header past the stranded Dante Stipic.Unsavoury scenes involving a section of the Hajduk supporters led to a pause in play of roughly four minutes, but Everton had a second goal before half-time.

A tight offside call had denied Rooney moments earlier, but Gueye timed his run to meet the forward's measured pass - after good work from Klaassen - and squeeze a finish inside the bottom-right corner.

Rooney, still waiting on his maiden European goal in Everton colours, was again given opportunities to get on the scoresheet either side of the break but shot too close to Stipica and then directed a header wide.

At the other end, Jordan Pickford had only previously been worked by optimistic efforts from distance, but the former Sunderland man extended himself well to save from Franck Ohandza after Hamza Barry stripped Gueye of the ball.

And Pickford saved twice more in the final 10 minutes, keeping out Ante Erceg and Hysen Memolla, to deny Hajduk an away goal and maintain Everton's control of the tie.

AC Milan 6 Shkendija 0: Silva, Montolivo inspire Rossoneri to brink of Europa League group stage

    id2duce.jpg

Andre Silva scored his first competitive goals for AC Milan as they romped to a 6-0 victory over Shkendija in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie at San Siro.

The 21-year-old, a €38million signing from Porto, and Riccardo Montolivo each scored twice, while second-half finishes from Fabio Borini and Luca Antonelli put Vincenzo Montella's side on the brink of the group stage.

Milan, who handed a competitive debut to new captain Leonardo Bonucci, were in control from the outset and scored all three of their goals in a rampant first 27 minutes.

Silva converted two clinical finishes and Montolivo scored a tap-in to end a three-year wait for a Rossoneri goal and send the home crowd, who numbered in the region of 40,000, into raptures.

Borini buried his first goal for the club before Antonelli made the most of more slack goalkeeping and Montolivo fired in a fine sixth to add gloss and all but assure Milan of a return to European competition proper for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Antonelli and Franck Kessie came close before Silva broke the deadlock with 13 minutes played, the Portugal international reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box to drill home his first goal at San Siro.

Montolivo made it 2-0 with 25 minutes played. Kostadin Zahov failed to parry Suso's free-kick far from his left-hand post, and the Italy veteran pounced to tap home his first goal since April 13, 2014.

Milan were in cruise control by this point and Silva got his second within two minutes – and in some style. The striker showed good close control to turn with the ball inside the box and battled his way through two challenges before placing a fine finish into the bottom-right corner.

Silva thought he had completed his hat-trick three minutes later as he turned Antonelli's flick-on towards goal with his thigh, but the ball struck the base of the post before Zahov just clawed it away before it crossed the line.

But with 67 minutes played, Borini got his first goal for the club. A fine team move involving Montolivo, Suso, Andrea Conti and Silva ended with the latter scuffing a first-time shot into the path of Borini, who converted from 10 yards out.

Just a minute later, Milan had their fifth, with Antonelli arriving to tap the ball in at the far post after Zahov parried Suso's low shot from the right straight into the full-back's path.

Zahov partly made amends with a brilliant reaction stop to prevent Silva completing his hat-trick with a backheel but he was powerless to stop Montolivo grabbing his second with five minutes left, the midfielder collecting Ignazio Abate's pass on the turn before blasting low into the net past the keeper's outstretched leg.

Mbappe left out of Monaco squad amid ongoing PSG links

Monaco have left Kylian Mbappe out of the matchday squad for Friday's Ligue 1 trip to Metz, with the striker continuing to be linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Mbappe has been struggling with a knee injury sustained in the opening-day win over Toulouse and did not get off the bench during the 4-1 victory over Dijon last Sunday.

The 18-year-old, who has been heavily linked with PSG and Madrid in recent weeks, has been left out entirely from head coach Leonardo Jardim's squad for the meeting at Stade Saint-Symphorien.No reason has been given for Mbappe's absence, although Jardim has suggested he is not in the right frame of mind to be involved.

Speaking on Wednesday, he told a media conference: "With all these things around an 18-year-old kid, it's our responsibility to protect him from the storm. It's a decision of the club.

"My philosophy is to play with the available players who are at 100 per cent.Kylian is not 100 per cent, he's not in form right now. It's normal. If another newspaper offers you [reporters] 15 times your salary, you'll type less well on your computer..."

The news is likely to increase speculation around the rising star's future during the final two weeks of the transfer window. Mbappe has been widely linked to PSG and Madrid, with Goal reporting on Wednesday that he also remains a Man City target.

Barca chief admits 'difficult situation' over Coutinho & Dembele

Barcelona are in "a very difficult situation" as they attempt to secure deals for Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, according to sporting director Robert Fernandez.

The Catalan giants completed the signing of Paulinho on Thursday but are keen to add Coutinho and Dembele to a forward line depleted by Neymar's world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain and a knee injury suffered by Luis Suarez in Wednesday's Spanish Supercopa defeat to Real Madrid.

Suarez will be out for four to five weeks despite finishing the contest at the Santiago Bernabeu, after which Barca general manager Pep Segura claimed deals for Coutinho and Dembele were close. That suggestion has been denied by Borussia Dortmund's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

And, speaking at Paulinho's introductory media conference, Robert said: "Not just Barca but any team looking for top quality players are getting involved in a very difficult situation in this market.

"Why? Because the market is where clubs like us want to sign top quality players. There's no buy-out clauses, so that makes things trickier. Yes, we are negotiating with clubs to make several signings, but in all awareness of the difficulty.

"We need to work our way into a favourable situation and hopefully close these deals as quickly as possible."Dembele and Coutinho are two important players that we like a lot and have done for a long time. They have the conditions, the right age and could adapt to our football. They would be good to have here. That's the reality.

"With respect to Liverpool and Dortmund, when there are negotiations you need time, you need to work things into a favourable situation for players and ourselves.

"We still have days ahead of us, would like to move things faster, but do admit they're two players we would like here. But it's the clubs who will have the final say on if we finally achieve those two transfers."

'Just the signature missing' - Messi not signing new deal would surprise Barcelona VP Mestre

Lionel Messi is yet to put pen to paper on his new Barcelona contract but the club's vice-president Jordi Mestre would be "very surprised" if the Argentina superstar did not do so.

Barcelona announced last month Messi had agreed to a new deal to keep him at Camp Nou until 2021.The club said Messi would sign the contract when he returned for pre-season training but no further announcement has been forthcoming.

Speaking at the introductory media conference for new signing Paulinho on Thursday, Mestre said: "It is all agreed and we are waiting for a date for the signing."Everything is in place, with just the signature missing."Leo's renewal is something we are totally clear about and we have worked on it for a long time.

"Everything looks very good and I would be very surprised if the signing didn't happen."

Milan in 'advanced' talks to sign Kalinic, Fassone tight-lipped on Ibrahimovic

AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone confirmed the club are in "advanced talks" to sign Nikola Kalinic from Fiorentina, while a Zlatan Ibrahimovic return remains a possibility.

Milan have overhauled their side with the signings of Leonardo Bonucci, Lucas Biglia, Andrea Silva, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio, Andrea Conti, Franck Kessie and Fabio Borini, but the Serie A giants are still keen on another striker.

Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all been linked but Fiorentina's Kalinic appears set to move to San Siro.

"There's no point denying we have been negotiating for Kalinic for a long time. We are in advanced talks," Fassone told reporters following Thursday's 6-0 rout of Shkendija in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie.Former striker Ibrahimovic has also been linked with a return to Milan, after his contract was not renewed by Manchester United.

Milan have previously refused to rule out a move for the 35-year-old, who scored 28 goals in all competitions at United last season, and Fassone reiterated that stance after Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola – also a representative for Gianluigi Donnarumma – was spotted at the stadium."I don't know, he had a meeting with [director Massimiliano] Mirabelli, not with me. He will have talked about his clients and their future," Fassone said when asked about Raiola.

"Will there be another gift? The fans are happy with what we are doing. We've had a chance over the last few days to consider what is still missing and we're seeking it without haste."If the right opportunity comes up, then we'll take it, otherwise we are competitive as we are."

Robson hails Manchester United signing Matic from Chelsea as a masterstroke

Former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson hailed the signing of Nemanja Matic, describing the former Chelsea midfielder's arrival as a "masterstroke".Matic left Premier League champions Chelsea to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in a deal reportedly worth £40 million.

The Serbia international has made an immediate impact in Manchester, producing a man-of-the-match display in last week's season-opening 4-0 rout of West Ham, and Robson praised the club's transfer business.

"To have signed Matic was a masterstroke for me," Robson told talkSPORT . "The signs there at the weekend were brilliant and I think he is going to be a great player for Manchester United over the next few years."
United will look to make it back-to-back wins to start the Premier League campaign when they travel to Swansea City on Saturday.Fellow recruit Romelu Lukaku impressed with a brace against West Ham, while Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly – signed by Mourinho last season – were also influential.

"You look at the squad in depth and we have got power and pace as well as the quality," Robson added. "We are going forward and we are going forward in a real good way."All of Mourinho's signings have been very good and they have definitely strengthened us.

"Winning a couple of competitions last season gives the players loads of confidence and you can see the way they were bonding together on the tour to America that the lads get on really well together."There is a real good spirit amongst the players at this moment in time."

Klopp sees no reason for players to leave Liverpool right now

Why would anyone want to leave Liverpool? That is the question manager Jurgen Klopp is asking amid Philippe Coutinho's links with Barcelona.

Liverpool star Coutinho is tipped to join LaLiga giants Barca to help fill the void left by Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record deal.On Wednesday, Barca general manager Pep Segura claimed the club were closing in on Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele.

Despite reportedly handing in a transfer request, Liverpool have maintained Coutinho will not be sold as he prepares to sit out Saturday's visit of Crystal Palace in the Premier League due to a back injury, and Klopp sees no reason for any player to exit Anfield."Can you imagine for a minute I am not a little bit interested about the problems or not of Barcelona?" Klopp said.

"I will never talk about something I spoke about with a player. But you can imagine, in general, I think for each player Liverpool is a very good club, a very good team in the moment.

"We have a good age of the group. We have very young boys, experience – it's a good mix and we are on our way."I think we got rid of the expectations of 20 years ago and created our own expectations for all the people. They expect a lot from us because of what we did last season.

"I am fine with the situation and I am very positive about the project of Liverpool. I don't see a lot of reasons for each player to leave the club at the moment and that’s just in general."

Everton open to signing Diego Costa – Koeman

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted his side would be open to signing wantaway Chelsea striker Diego Costa, either permanently or on loan. Costa has been told he is not in Chelsea's plans for this season, and has made clear his preference to join former club Atletico Madrid.

But with Atletico banned from making any new signings until January and reportedly hesitating at signing Costa, the striker may be forced to look elsewhere for a new club.

Speaking at a press conference, Koeman reference his desire to bring in a new striker. When asked if that signing needed to be permanent or could be temporary, Koeman inquired, "Is that about Costa?"Of course you like to sign players for the future, but if you can get the best one that way, then why not?

“That’s for six months, the season, two years," Koeman added, indicating he is open to the possibliity of a loan while Costa waits for an Atletico move to materialise.

“We have the possibility maybe to sign good players, but we don’t play in the Champions League – and that sometimes makes things very difficult.”

Everton defeated Hajduk Split 2-0 in the first leg of a Europa League qualification play-off on Thursday.

Costa: I won't let Chelsea decide where I play

Diego Costa has warned Chelsea that they cannot decide who they potentially sell him to after telling him he is surplus to requirements.

The Spain international is currently in Brazil after being told by Antonio Conte via text that he was not in the Blues manager's plans for the 2017-18 campaign.Costa has made it clear he wants to join former club Atletico Madrid despite their current transfer ban, but feels Chelsea are asking for too much money.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a host of other clubs including AC Milan, Besiktas and Everton, but he insists he only wants to play for Atletico and does not feel he can have his future dictated to him by a club who do not want him.

"Chelsea have offered me to several clubs, but I was very clear with them," he told ESPN Brasil. "I said that if I'm not part of the manager's plans, I would like to choose my destination. I'm not going to let them decide just to get more money."When I came to Chelsea they paid a lot less compared to what's being offered to them. I think they should take into account everything that I've done.

"It's not my fault that I'm not at the club. If it was down to me I'd be playing. It's already been one month. Holidays are good but it gets tiresome."I didn't provoke the situation, but now that it's come to this the club has to think in two ways.

"Of course they need to get something back [in a sporting sense], like I gave them on the pitch, but financial as well. After three years they will receive a fee higher than what they paid."

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are keen for Costa to return to the club and work towards match fitness as the end of the transfer window moves closer and the proposition of him staying at Stamford Bridge becomes more realistic.

But the forward insists he has not heard anything from the Premier League champions and would be wary about returning because of the way he and Conte fell out as well as the belief that he would be forced to train with the reserves.

"I'll be honest, I have my agent and none of that [Chelsea wanting him to return] has reached me," he added. "People at the club called me before [earlier in the summer] to give me extra holidays to not have contact with the manager.

"I was always meant to turn up with the group, but they were already saying that I'm going to have to come back and train with the reserves. I said that this was a lack of respect."We won the league and I haven't done anything so serious to deserve being treated in that way.

"It won't be the same as before [between him and Conte], and we don't know if the fight for the position will be fair."Because of me having exposed the [text] message I understand that he'll be annoyed, so if I go back I have to see if things would be clean, just and correct.

"That's how I like things. If I go back now I don't think it will be a fair situation. It won't be an honest fight for a position [in the team]."

Diego Costa: Chelsea are pricing me out of Atletico Madrid move

Diego Costa has insisted that Chelsea are pricing him out of a return to Atletico Madrid. The Blues forward wants to rejoin Diego Simeone's side having been frozen out at Stamford Bridge, with Costa yet to have returned to the club since the conclusion of the 2016-17 season.

Costa revealed that he had been told by manager Antonio Conte that he was surplus to requirements but now claims the Blues are demanding too much money for him to be able to leave.

He told ESPN Brasil: "I've demonstrated I care for Atletico and have interest in playing for them."But if Atletico and Chelsea don't come to an agreement and Atletico don't make a big effort, I can't keep on wanting to play for a club that isn't going to make a bigger effort to try and sign me.

"I know that this [big effort] will happen, but if it's to pay the amount that Chelsea want it won't be possible."What I know is that this offer Chelsea will get is bigger than what they paid [when they signed Costa from Atletico for £32 million in July 2014], so I've given them something back in all senses.

"I don't know [how much Chelsea want for him], but my agent said that Chelsea want something that Atletico can't get near."When we heard that Conte didn't want me anymore, my agent went to find out if there was interest from Atletico for me coming back.

Barcelona hold minute's silence for terror attack victims as Messi & Neymar leave touching tributes

Barcelona's players observed a minute's silence at training on Friday following the terror attack in the city on Thursday.

Thirteen people were killed and dozens injured as a van drove into pedestrians on Las Ramblas in Barcelona. Authorities have warned that the death toll may rise. The players of Barcelona subsequently took the time, ahead of training, to commemorate those killed.

Real Madrid, too, honoured the victims with a minute's silence of their own.
Both Lionel Messi and Neymar - the latter now of PSG but formerly of Barca - issued touching tributes to the victims on social media.

Taking to Facebook, Messi wrote: "I want to send my condolences and all my support to the families and friends of the victims of the terrible attack in our beloved Barcelona, in addition to totally rejecting any act of violence."We are not going to give up, we are many more who want to live in a world in peace, without hate and where respect and tolerance are the basis of coexistence."

Neymar, meanwhile, wrote on Twitter: "God will comfort the families. #PrayForBarcelona."

West Brom reject bid for Man City target Evans

West Brom manager Tony Pulis has confirmed that the club have rejected a bid for defender Jonny Evans.Evans has been linked with a move to Manchester City, but Pulis believes the Northern Ireland international is happy at West Brom.

The Baggies face Burnley on Saturday, with Evans doubtful to play in the game. However, Pulis insists that the 29-year-old could miss out due to hamstring problems rather than a proposed move to Man City."We've turned down an offer for Jonny. He'll have a late fitness test today. It's his hamstring," Pulis told reporters.

"Jonny understands the situation and where everything is. Jonny is happy here and wants to get on with his football. Jonny is one of our best players. We all understand where we are."Pep Guardiola has turned his attention to Evans after deciding not to pursue £60 million-rated Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.

The City boss sees Evans as a more reasonably priced alternative as he looks to further strengthen his defence following the signings of Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy.

City's most recent bid for Evans is believed to be in the region of £18m, but Guardiola remains confident that a deal can be done before the transfer window closes.

Bailly: Man Utd will show we're world class again!

Eric Bailly says Manchester United have always been at a world-class level and is confident the club will prove it this season.

United thumped West Ham 4-0 at Old Trafford to open the new Premier League campaign and travel to Swansea City on Saturday looking to maintain that early-season momentum.

Bailly, 23, is entering his second year with a club he feels have always remained at the top level, despite not winning the top-flight title since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

"The team has always been at a world class level, they have just had some bad moments," Ivory Coast international Bailly, who joined in a £30 million move from Villarreal, told reporters.

"But now it's time to give Manchester United its value. That comes with our hard work and that's what all the players do that come - like [Romelu] Lukaku and Paul [Pogba], and also [Victor] Lindelof.

"With all the hard work we put in we are going to demonstrate that we are again a world-class club."Bailly found the move to United a big step up compared to what he was used to at Villarreal, but praised his team-mates help in his quick adaption to the Premier League.

"I found out when I was in the Ivory Coast," he said of his move to United. "I didn't believe it was true, I thought it was a dream. Afterwards I found it was true that the team was interested in me and it was something big for me, and I am thankful for everything that happened in that moment.

"When I came to Manchester, it was a bigger step from when I was in Villarreal. It is something that is not easy, when you come to a team where there are players that have more experience in the English league. "I had to see how the football was played. For me it wasn't difficult because I had very good team-mates that helped and were always looking after me. The dressing room is like a family."

Growing up Bailly was a keen follower of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, but also drew inspiration from Sergio Ramos at Real Madrid."I was following Marseille and looking up to my compatriot playing there, Didier Drogba, and my team was Marseille," Bailly said of his youth.

Roma open to restarting Mahrez talks with Leicester City

Roma have not written off a possible move for Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez, Goal understands.

It was thought Roma’s interest in pursuing a deal was finished after the Foxes would not come down off their asking price for the Algeria international, who started for Leicester in their Premier League opener against Arsenal.

After having multiple offers rejected, Roma reportedly went as high as €35 million — an offer which would have been a record fee received for any player in the Foxes' history. However, it appears that while the Serie A club won’t make any further bids, they will respond to a counter-offer from Leicester City, should one come as they believe Mahrez would be willing to move to Rome.

Goal understands the Foxes are willing to accommodate Mahrez’s desire to leave. However, the Premier League side still want a fee in the region of €40m, but would be willing to accept part of that in the form of additional add-ons and bonuses.

Juventus have completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi in a deal worth an initial €20 million. The 30-year-old arrived in Turin on Wednesday and began his medical, which was then completed on Thursday prior to him signing a three-year contract with the Italian champions.

The deal could rise to €30.5m if certain appearance-related bonuses are triggered during Matuidi's time with the club.

Juve have been active in the transfer window, with Matuidi's arrival adding to the likes of Federico Bernardeschi, Wojciech Szczesny, Mattia De Sciglio and Douglas Costa.

Matuidi spent six seasons at PSG and was a key performer throughout his spell, winning Ligue 1 four times among 16 domestic trophies.

The midfielder made 295 appearances in all competitions for PSG, scoring 33 goals, and will hope to make his debut as Juve begin their Serie A campaign at home to Cagliari on Saturday. His departure comes as PSG look to balance the books following their world-record €222m signing of Neymar from Barcelona.

The France international has never played outside of his homeland before, with Troyes and Saint-Etienne his other former clubs.

Liverpool reject fresh €125m offer from Barcelona for Coutinho and maintain he's not for sale

Liverpool have immediately rebuffed a €125 million (£114m) offer from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho, reiterating their “definitive stance” that the player is not on the market this summer.

It was the third formal proposal the Catalan club have tabled for the Brazil international, who submitted a transfer request that was rejected last week Friday.

The guaranteed figure was €90m (£82m), with add-ons that could have ultimately pushed it to around €130m (£118m), with the Reds saying the breakdown of the package was "irrelevant" given their position.

As with the previous bids of £72m and £90m, Liverpool's unwillingness to do business has been clear in the instantaneous way they have refused to consider the approaches.

The Merseysiders insist, as per an emphatic statement from owners Fenway Sports Group, that the 25-year-old will remain at Anfield when the window closes.
Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez admitted the difficulty in getting a deal over the line for Liverpool's highest-paid player, given the new five-year deal he signed in January did not contain a release clause.

Coutinho has missed the opening two games of the season with a back injury and has not been in team training yet.He has, however, reported to Melwood as normal for treatment on the issue.

On Thursday, Jurgen Klopp was asked to respond to speculation from Spain suggesting the Brazilian could go on stike. "I can have nothing to say about his attitude, because since he got the back injury, he hasn’t been in training," the manager said.

"When I asked the medical department how he’s doing, they had no complaints so that’s how it is. I’ve got nothing bad to say about this."

Manchester United are no dream team, warns Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has warned against making Manchester United favourites for the Premier League title following their opening-day thrashing of West Ham.

The Red Devils cruised to an impressive 4-0 win at Old Trafford last weekend, with Romelu Lukaku scoring twice on his home debut before late goals from Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba.

With champions Chelsea having suffered a shock 3-2 home defeat to Burnley, Liverpool drawing 3-3 with Watford and Manchester City and Arsenal having to battle to three points, some have already identified United as the most likely to be at the top of the table at the end of the season. However, manager Mourinho insists his side have not become a "dream team" simply by beating the Hammers.

"I'm too stable and too experienced to lose my discipline, to lose my stability and to think that a 4-0 result makes us the best team in the country, the favourites, the dream team," he told a news conference ahead of Saturday's clash with Swansea City.

"We are not favourites, not the dream team. We have more confidence than last season, probably more happiness, [we're] more relaxed on the pitch. But I'm calm.

"When I won two consecutive titles with Chelsea [in 2004-05 and 2005-06], the United manager [Alex Ferguson] said we brought the bar to a certain level and that they had to improve a lot to try to win the trophy back. I think this happens every season.

"Somebody wins and the others are not happy. They don't accept it with their hands in their pockets and the others improve to try to be better."
