People keep underestimating Portugal big time.
As I said earlier, they might have drawn the first three games, but in the frst two games theirs were the best performance I saw in the group stages.
They linked up pretty well and had some really good runs. But sadly couldn't find the net because didn't get good balls in to the box.

Godak kattiya kiyanne Portugal melo wedak ne. Ronaldo thamai team eka adan yanne kiyala. Eth ehema ne. Team eka sahenna hodai.
Godak star players la nathi wenna puluwan. Eth the team is good. Wade thiyenne Team eka hadila thiyenne Ronaldo wate. They all depend on Ronaldo. Wanting him to become the saviour.
Oya idea eka nathi karagaththanam sahenna dinana chance eka wadi wenawa. Ronaldo ta thiyana pressure ekath nathi wenawa. kattiya hodata play karanawa.

Habai Hungary match eke nam man baya una. :D goals gahuwata team eka poddak balance eka nathi kara gaththa. Croatia match eke nam thanikara tactical battle ekak giye. Possession aran attack karanam sure ekata counter eken wadinawa perisic & rakitic gen. Btw Rakitic wasn't that good in the game.
The best player in the croatia team was of cause Modric. Stats prooves it.
Ronaldo has said he didn't celebrate Quaresma's goaal because he couldn't celebrate against Modric.
Poland match eke nam kohoma weida danne ne. Man nam kiyanne all out yanna one kiyala.

    Starting line up -
    Ronaldo - LF
    Nani - CF
Quaresma - RF (But playing as a winger more than a forward)
    W. Carvalho - CDM
    Renato Sanches - CM
Jao Mario/ Adrien Silva/ Jao Muotinho - CM
    LB - Guerrrero
    RB - Cedric
CBs - Pepe & Jose Fonte

As I said before the croatia game Renato Sanches changes the game completely while Quarresma is the wild card. They both work very well as subsitutes. But I think we should go all out starting both in the game because we can get 2 or 3 goals like this.
But if we go all out on attack Cedric should start as RB other than Virenha cause he is more defensive minded than Virenha and we will need help in the back in case poland counter.
Poland doesn't use the wing that much. They run mostly through the middle with Blaskcovisky (can't spell his name lol!)
So maybe it'll be a good thing to play 2 CDM's maybe but nobody does that usually.

    Germany vs Italy

This will be the game to watch :D
I'm really impressed with the Italian side. If they can go through Germany, they'll become the favourites against France or Iceland.

I really like their defence. rare to see a 3-5-3 formation but their back 3 works really well.
    Chiellini, Bazzhagi & Bennouchi.
And then theirs De Rossi who'll shape up things in the middle and Zacherrini & Florenzi in the wings.
The thing about Italy is that they win by the Opponents' mistakes.
They does their pat well by defending really well and soon as the other team breaks, they take advantage over it. They work as a really good team not depending on one person to do the job.

I was really impressed in the set piece where Chiellini scored.
I mean the free kick wasn't that good. The thing is they took advantage seeing De Gea & Pique wasn't ready. Refree blew the whistle way too quickly. De Gea was still arranging his defense. They saw that and took the chance. Pique didn't even have time to turn. As soon as it was hit, every italian player in the box was attacking the ball.

Even if somehow Florenzi curled the ball into the inside corner, he would've scored because De Gea wasn't ready at all.
But he made some really good saves later on.

But against Germany Italy will have less chances than in this match.
Germany is powerful because they don't give the opponent chances. And they don't change the phase of the game that much. They wait and wait until the right pass. It's beautiful to see Germany play. It'll be a really good match to watch :D

    Juanfran delighted with Griezmann stay

Juanfran says he is delighted Antoine Griezmann has opted to sign a new contract with Atletico Madrid, affirming that the striker is a key player for the Spanish side.

France international Griezmann ended speculation surrouding his future by penning a four-year extension with the Colchoneros, tying him to Atletico until 2021.

And club team-mate Juanfran believes that Griezmann's decision to stay put is crucial for Atletico's hopes ahead of the new season.

"Grizzi's renewal is something that has made us all very happy. Koke and I knew something about him before the news broke, although we could not say anything," the defender explained to Goal.
"We need Griezmann because he has been one of the cornerstones of Atletico for the last few years.

"He is happy, he feels comfortable here, and we are delighted with him because he is a fantastic player and person."

Atletico, who have already brought in Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica, are expected to strengthen their squad further with the signing of Sime Vrsaljko from Sassuolo.

But although Vrsaljko plays in the same position as Juanfran, the right-back has welcomed the Croatia international's imminent arrival and insists competition for places will only make Atletico stronger.

"I don't know if Vrsaljko is official or not, but I have seen him play and I have heard great things about him," Juanfran added.

"As long as good players are coming to Atletico Madrid, we need them all to put together a competitive side and go as far as possible."

Alves aiming to bring Champions League glory to Juventus

    dani-alves-brazil-training_787pfcjkcq0717jukj0gaak2k.jpg

Dani Alves is aiming to bring Champions League glory to Juventus after completing his switch from Barcelona.Alves' free transfer from Camp Nou to Turin on a two-year deal was completed on Monday, with the Brazilian opting against renewing his Barca contract.

The right-back was part of the Barca side that denied Juve a treble by beating them in the 2015 Champions League final in Berlin. But now Alves is hoping to help bring the European trophy back to Turin for the first time since 1995-96.

"It's a great honour to be her. Juve have a great dream and I want to make it a reality," said the Brazilian when presented to the media."The club's dream is to win the Champions League and I hope to help them achieve this.

"I can't say exactly what Juve require to win the Champions League. That's something I'll begin to work out from now onwards."We need to believe we can win the Champions League if we are to do it. We will give it our best shot.

"Juve is a club full of interesting challenges and goals. There's a unique opportunity to go down in history here."The 33-year-old says he is also excited to be undertaking a new challenge and playing alongside the likes of Paul Pogba.

"The club's history fascinates me. I also wanted a new experience, in a new country," continued Alves."I'm not someone who looks for an easy ride. I'm not a star, I'm a real worker.

"I haven't had the chance to speak a great deal with the coach, but I can imagine what he'll be asking of me.

"Pogba is a great player. I am excited by the chance to play with players of his quality."Alves confirmed he will wear the number 23 at Juventus, a nod to the Cleveland Cavaliers' recent NBA Finals win.

"I will wear the number 23 in honour of LeBron James," he added.

OFFICIAL: Liverpool complete £30m signing of Mane from Southampton

    3384132_heroa.jpg

Liverpool have wrapped up the £30 million signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton on a five-year deal.

The 24-year-old becomes the club's third-most expensive acquisition behind Andy Carroll (£35m) and Christian Benteke (£32.5m) after completing a medical as well as agreeing personal terms with the Reds.

He is the fourth new recruit under Jurgen Klopp's charge, following Marko Grujic, Joel Matip and Loris Karius to Anfield ahead of the German's first full campaign at the helm.

Mane's pace, pressing, versatility, propensity for shots inside the box, dribbling strength and combined 21-goal tally over the past two Premier League seasons distinguished him as one of Liverpool's priorities in the market. He will wear the No.19 shirt, vacated by Steven Caulker, becoming the 10th player at the club to don those digits.

Klopp has long admired Mane's attributes, paying close attention to the Senegal international's progress at Red Bull Salzburg, who snapped him up from French outfit Metz after he dazzled at the 2012 Olympics.

The 49-year-old drove the deal for the speedster, who is expected to add an extra dimension to his attacking options, and aligns with the manager's full-throttle approach.

Manchester United twice tried to sign Mane over the past year but Southampton rejected their efforts.

On the move, the player said: “Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe.“It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history.

“Now I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and my teammates and starting the season. “I knew Liverpool were interested in me, I had some [other] opportunities, but I think for me this is the right club, the right coach and the right moment to change.

“I am very happy to be a part of Liverpool Football Club.“He [Klopp] said he wanted me to come to play for Liverpool. I didn’t even have to ask myself, I said straight away ‘yes, I am interested’ because I know Liverpool.

“I am convinced Liverpool are the right club for me with the right coach.”
The Generation Foot academy graduate becomes the fifth player to to swap St Mary's Stadium for Anfield in the past three seasons for a combined cost of £92m, following Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne.

Italy are better than in 2012 - Low

Joachim Low believes Germany's Euro 2016 quarter-final opponents Italy are a stronger side than four years ago – when they reached the European Championship final.

Germany go head-to-head with Antonio Conte's men in Bordeaux on Saturday after easing past their Round of 16 opponents Slovakia, but Low is wary of the threat posed by Italy's counter-attacking game.

The Azzurri have been impenetrable in their victories over Belgium, Sweden and Spain, and though they conceded a goal in their final group game against the Republic of Ireland, Low is focussing on how to break down one of the tournaments meanest defences.

"I'm looking forward to the game immensely," said Low. "Italy were very impressive [against Spain]."Italy work well together in defence and have lots of quality in attack. They are a better team than in 2012.

"We need to avoid the Italy counter attack and have a good plan going forward.
"Sami Khedira is a clever player and I will be seeking his advice ahead of the Italy game."Low has a fully fit squad and a whole week to prepare for the game, and he paid tribute to his medical staff for keeping his players in shape.

Defender Jerome Boateng was struggling with a calf injury prior to the 3-0 win over Slovakia, but intensive treatment helped him recover in time to play – and score – in the game.Low said: "We have every player available. The medical team worked with Jerome Boateng non-stop prior to the Slovakia game. They did fantastically.

"I have faith in all my players. They are working incredibly hard in training. We can use the week to instill new impetus in preparation for the game. The break is not a disadvantage."

    OFFICIAL: Paris Saint-Germain appoint Emery

    3120612_heroa.jpg

Paris Saint-Germain have named Unai Emery as their new head coach, following the departure of Laurent Blanc.

The Spanish coach, who left Sevilla following the 2015-16 season, has signed a deal until June 2018.

Emery arrives at the Parc des Princes as the treble defending champion of the Europa League after leading the Andalusian club to three consecutive European titles.

PSG's Qatari owners are dedicated to securing European success for the capital club at the highest level, with Blanc's dismissal largely down to his exploits in the Champions League after 11 trophies and two trebles during his three years with the club.
The mammoth wealth of the French team means Emery has been appointed in a bid to reach the summit of Europe's elite competititon.

The Spaniard previously spent one season in Russia with Spartak Moscow and also has enjoyed spells with Valencia and Almeria.

Alves: Messi must ignore critics after Copa loss

    lionelmessi-cropped_1dmkf2f4l0r5c1kwcaac2j089n.jpg

Dani Alves has told former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi to ignore his critics after his Copa America final penalty miss.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner failed from the spot in Argentina's shootout defeat to Chile and announced his international retirement after Sunday's game.

Messi lost all four of his major finals with his national team and this was a third in three years, coming after the 2014 World Cup defeat to Germany and another setback against Chile in the 2015 Copa.

However, Alves, who has this week joined Juventus from Barca, had comforting words for his great friend."I did not see the end because it was late and I had commitments," he said. "No one can take away Leo's greatness.

"It's a pleasure to be his friend. He must be with people who respect him and not with those who disparage him."It is a minority who criticise him and he should not give them importance."

Liverpool boss Klopp: I've followed Mane's progress since the 2012 Olympics

    1392272_heroa.jpg

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted he has been watching new signing Sadio Mane for many years. The Anfield outfit announced the signing of the 24-year-old attacker on Tuesday, with the former Southampton man signing a five-year deal.

And Klopp is overjoyed that Reds have done the business quickly as he prepares his squad for his first full season in charge.

“I have followed Sadio for a lot of years since his impressive performances in the Olympics in 2012, and then watched his development in Austria and in his time at Southampton," he told Liverpoolfc.com.“Since I came here I have spoken to the staff a lot about him and have always felt he could be a very good signing for us. He has a lot of quality, works hard and has a very good goalscoring record.

“When I spoke to him I could tell that he was passionate about joining the club and playing for our fantastic fans. I think they will be just as excited about seeing him put on a Liverpool shirt as I am.

“It is great that we have managed to sign him so he can work with us from the first day of pre-season.”

Chelsea's Pato could return to Corinthians, says president

    pato-cropped_pstpaw7l2xtf19dcv4gmc1rm3.jpg

Alexandre Pato could return to play for Corinthians again, according to the club's president. The Brazilian international has been on loan with Premier League outfit Chelsea since January, but is due to return to his parent side this week.

And, though Pato has not made an appearance for Corinthians in over two years, president Roberto de Andrade would welcome him back."The technical part I cannot answer," he told Boa Noite Fox. "The coach is different, we have new life at the club.

"If Pato is back, the coach will talk to him. Let's wait and see what happens."He plays for Corinthians, I will pay the salary. Why not? There is no problem."

Meanwhile, general manager Alessandro Nunes insisted the club must first discuss the player's intentions."We do not have anything definite," he told Lance. "We must expect to have a conversation with Pato and his representative, and then decide.

"In January, he showed an interest to play in Europe and that's what happened."

Ben Arfa set to complete Sevilla move

    3043442_heroa.jpg

Sevilla will complete the signing of Hatem Ben Arfa by the end of the week, Goal understands.

The 29-year-old, who is out of contract after leaving Nice this summer, has agreed a three-year contract and will receive a signing-on fee in excess of €10 million.

Ben Arfa’s preferred destination was to Paris Saint-Germain but the French champions have not submitted an offer for one of Ligue 1’s standout stars last season.

Ben Arfa was the catalyst in a Nice side that finished fourth in Ligue 1, scoring 17 goals and registering six assists.

But despite his impressive form, it was not enough to secure a place in France’s final Euro 2016 squad.

The former Newcastle United midfielder will link up with Jorge Sampaoli, who was confirmed as Sevilla’s new coach on Monday.

'Higuain will not renew Napoli contract' - agent

    3168712_heroa.jpg

The agent of Gonzalo Higuain has affirmed that the striker will not renew his contract with Napoli, as he accused the club of breaking promises made to the Argentine.

Higuain scored 36 goals last season to help the southern Italians to second place in Serie A, 17 clear of next-highest scorer Paulo Dybala as he was crowned Capocannoniere.

Napoli finished well off champions Juventus, however, and his agent brother Nicolas affirmed he was not happy with the current situation at San Paolo.

"We came here with a plan for the Champions League, to be champions, to grow, and the club's response has not been ideal," he told Radio Continental.

"He has the right to ask for his contract to be terminated, but we will choose not to renew so he becomes a free agent in 2018.

"Under these conditions we will respect the contract we have with Napoli but we will not renew it under any circumstances. Gonzalo is super-professional and will continue to give his all."

Higuain also criticised Argentina coach Gerardo Martino for taking Gonzalo off during the Copa America final, while admitting his brother is devastated by his miss during the defeat.

"The No. 9 should never come off in a final. He has to play the whole 90 minutes. I never saw [Carlos] Bianchi taking off [Martin] Palermo in a final, and let's be honest: Kun Aguero is not a No. 9, Gonzalo is.

"I will not allow, as his brother and agent, everyone to take their shots at Gonzalo Higuain. Gonzalo is not a murderer, and Aguero is not a traitor.

"Gonzalo called me destroyed after the game, he tried to round [Claudio Bravo] and when he realised Bravo wasn't coming out he tried the chip."

AC Milan have officially announced the appointment of coach Vincenzo Montella on a two-year contract.Montella, who led Sampdoria to a 15th-placed finish in Serie A last season, replaces interim boss Cristian Brocchi at the helm.

A statement on the Serie A club's official website reads:"Vincenzo Montella is our new coach, he has signed a new contract which begins on July 1."It is the belief of the club that the style of play of the new Rossoneri coach with be the base of a fruitful and positive collaboration.

"Heartfelt thanks to Cristiano Brocchi for the enthusiasm, preparation and intensity with which he approached his career as Milan coach with the youth team, the Primavera and the first team."

With Milan on the verge of a Chinese takeover, Montella will be expected to return the Rossoneri to their former glory, with the ailing Italian side having finished Serie A in only 7th place last term following a succession of poor seasons.
