lol united. that's what happens when you have murinho as a coach, highly overrated mid, a shit player who doesn't know how to play football other than elbowing others, and no good defenders.

murinho should add shweinsteiger to his plans and give him the chance than this shit fellani. and mkhitaryen should start as a cam while rooney, ibra should start up front with either martial or rashford.

This is the team I'll be putting up.

    4 3 3

def - shaw, valencia.. other than that no great cb's in utds line up. absoulte shit in set pieces and can't even defend properly.

mid - schweinsteiger as the CDM. He can control the game very well. Can pretty much be the creator of the attack. And will hold the ball other than giving the other team chances. And can play as a cb when utd are up front. good on set pieces too. 2 CMs. Mkhitaryen & Pogba. Both should be given free roles. I don't like pogba that much and still consider him as very much overrated, I actually don't know what exat position he should play in atm. lol! but mkhitaryen is another deal. He should at least play behing ibra in a cam role.

attack - ibra at the center, rooney from the right & martial or rashford from the left.

murinho should have bought good world class defenders tbh

:(Watford 3-1 Man Utd: Late Hornets double sinks United

    mourinho-vs-watford_1q7lyuc2t2q0j1odeqhhrwc7sj.jpg

Juan Zuniga scored 53 seconds after coming on and Troy Deeney netted a stoppage-time penalty as Watford beat Manchester United 3-1 on Sunday, condemning Jose Mourinho's men to a third consecutive defeat.

A dramatic opening period saw Odion Ighalo miss an open goal for Walter Mazzarri's side, before Paul Pogba struck the crossbar from long-range for the visitors in the Premier League clash at Vicarage Road.

Etienne Capoue then put Watford ahead with his fourth goal of the season, but Marcus Rashford – handed his first Premier League start of the campaign – equalised after the break.

However, that would not prevent United from following up defeats to Manchester City and Feyenoord with another loss, Zuniga capping a great team move just moments after coming on and Deeney putting the icing on the cake from the spot.

United's latest reverse leaves them six points adrift of the early Premier League leaders, Pep Guardiola's City, and puts Mourinho under immediate pressure to turn their results around.

Watford, meanwhile, now have two consecutive victories, setting Mazzarri up superbly for a favourable run of fixtures in the weeks ahead.

Having won their first game of the season against West Ham last week, Watford started on the front foot, with Deeney inches away from tapping in Sebastian Prodl's header at the far post.

The hosts were even closer in their next attack, Ighalo guilty of a dreadful miss after Prodl's long ball caused a mix-up between United goalkeeper David de Gea and Chris Smalling. That left the Nigeria striker with an open goal, but he somehow failed to find the target.

Deeney's header was then superbly kept out by a flying De Gea, while United's first menacing attack saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic lash a good opening into the side-netting after a cross from Rashford deflected into his path.

A thrilling first half continued as Pogba collected Marouane Fellaini's pass and curled a dipping effort from 30 yards against the bar.

But the breakthrough came at the other end in the 34th minute when Martial – who had previously received a nasty knock to the head - was dispossessed by Miguel Britos in a dangerous area, with referee Michael Oliver ignoring United claims for a foul.

That allowed Daryl Janmaat to race clear down the right and cut back for Capoue to beat De Gea with a low, first-time finish and the visitors' misery was compounded by a stricken Martial having to be replaced by Ashley Young immediately after the goal.

United were initially sluggish in pursuit of an equaliser, but they struck back in the 62nd minute through their first shot on target.

Rashford was involved in the build-up - playing a one-two with Ibrahimovic - and when the Swede's cross deflected off Valon Behrami, the 18-year-old pounced to direct his shot under Heurelho Gomes from three yards out.

United came close to claiming all three points when Gomes got down impressively to claw away Ibrahimovic's powerful header from Fellaini's searching delivery, but there was a dramatic sting in the tail.

A slick Watford passing sequence saw Nordin Amrabat and Roberto Pereyra combine to set up Zuniga and he swept home on 83 minutes. They were not done there either, with another substitute - Isaac Success - helping Zuniga to win a penalty under Fellaini's challenge in stoppage-time.

Deeney took it and powered home to delight the Vicarage Road crowd as the home side snapped a nine-game losing streak in league matches against United.

Mourinho blames referee and bad luck for Manchester United loss

    mourinho-cropped_1fujb448anxsn1twdffpf70cxs.jpg

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho felt the referee and bad luck played a part in his team's defeat to Watford, but also accepted their performance could have been better.

Goals from Etienne Capoue and Marcus Rashford had the match level at 1-1 going into the final seven minutes, when a strike from substitute Juan Zuniga and a penalty from captain Troy Deeney earned the home side a 3-1 victory at Vicarage Road.

United now sit six points behind early Premier League leaders Manchester City, and Mourinho has lost three consecutive competitive games in a single season for the first time since he was in charge of Porto in 2001-02.

The frustrated Portuguese felt Anthony Martial had been fouled in the build-up to Watford's first goal from Capoue and suggested his side were on top when Watford struck twice in the latter stages.

He told BT Sport: "In the first half for about 25 to 30 minutes we didn't play well and that is something that we can control. We can improve, we can work on it.

"Then the referee and the linesman's mistake is not under my control. I can't do anything to improve it. That [the Martial incident] is an obvious situation.

"I think there is no debate, no controversy. I think that is an obvious situation, like it was obvious last week against Man City but it's something I don't control and I cannot even be critical of.

"In the eyes of everyone - it doesn't matter whether you are a Manchester United fan or a Watford fan or whatever - it was obvious.

"In the second half we were much better. We get the draw [equaliser] and after that we were the team. Gomes makes a phenomenal save and the lucky moments again are not something we can control.

"We cannot control the referee, we cannot control the lucky moments. We had that period where, in the stadium, everyone was thinking about Manchester United going on to score a goal and win the game."The only thing we can control is our individual and collective mistakes like for their second goal."

Mourinho went on to describe the decision not to award a foul on Martial following Miguel Britos' challenge as "ridiculous" and reiterated his belief that factors outside of his control played a key part in the loss.

He said to BBC Sport: "The first factor depends on ourselves, it relates to our individual mistakes and collective mistakes as individual players and as a team. We have to improve something, it is in our hands.

"The second factor is the referee and I can't control their mistakes. The story of the game is the result and not the ridiculous situation of the first goal.

"The third factor is luck, we didn't have it. We were the best team when we lost."
He addded: "We started the season very well and had good results. I feel the first moment we had a defeat, a difficult situation, some of the boys are having a bit of difficulty coping with the negativity.

"You see Ashley Young, his mentality, the happiness and confidence he brought to the game is something more players need to have."

Crystal Palace 4-1 Stoke City: Pardew's men heap more misery on struggling Potters

    hd-crystal-palace_1f6f5w1htzue91xb8z7dwcmpnt.jpg

Crystal Palace plunged Stoke City deeper into crisis by inflicting a 4-1 thumping at Selhurst Park that leaves Mark Hughes' side with just one point from their first five games of the Premier League season.

James Tomkins marked his first start for Palace with the opening goal on Sunday, just two minutes and 14 seconds before club captain Scott Dann netted the second.

Stoke settled but never really threatened in attack, and two more quick-fire goals in the second half secured Palace a second win of the campaign.

James McArthur scored the third for Alan Pardew's side, courtesy of a deflection off Geoff Cameron, before Andros Townsend capped a match-winning performance by netting a brilliant solo goal 15 minutes from time, with Marko Arnautovic's injury-time strike a mere consolation for the visitors.

Palace, who beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in their previous outing, had not secured back-to-back wins in the league since December 2015, but with Townsend and fellow winger Wilfried Zaha providing a constant threat down the wings they look capable of troubling many opponents.

Hughes, meanwhile, will need to engineer a drastic improvement in his defence if Stoke are to avoid falling far short of last season's ninth-place finish.

The Potters had started promisingly enough with Bruno Martins Indi playing Jonathan Walters in on goal with a lovely threaded pass after five minutes, only to find the striker had strayed offside.

But Stoke's lack of confidence at the back was evident as soon as Townsend and Zaha began to attack them down the flanks, and the latter won a free-kick when he was bundled over by Arnautovic.

Townsend looped the free-kick towards the far post and, when Walters failed to deal with the threat, Tomkins nipped in and bundled the ball past Shay Given.

Palace continued to press and were rewarded just two minutes later when Jason Puncheon's corner was powered home by the head of skipper Dann, who was allowed a free header by Stoke's defenders.

Stoke eventually managed to stem the flow of Palace attacks but midfield playmakers Bojan and Arnautovic were given no space or time on the ball to create chances for the visitors, who trailed by two at the break.

Ryan Shawcross aimed a header on target from Bojan's corner early in the second half that Steve Mandanda saved easily, as Stoke looked brighter immediately after half-time.

Palace continued to create chances and Dann would have scored his second goal of the game had Bojan not hooked his header off the line following Puncheon's corner.Townsend's relentless industry down the flanks created a chance that Zaha spurned from close range, while at the other end Bojan flashed a shot just wide.

Chances for Martins Indi and Shawcross went begging for Stoke before McArthur picked up a poor headed clearance and fired a shot that took a wicked deflection off Cameron on its way past Given to make it 3-0 in the 71st minute.

Four minutes later, Townsend was rewarded for an all-action performance when he ran from inside his own half and jinked past Joe Allen before applying a finish that will have caught the eye of England manager Sam Allardyce to make it 4-0.

Stoke squandered a number of late chances before finally getting a consolation when Wilfried Bony fed Arnautovic and the Austrian slammed it past Mandanda from outside the area. Impressive as the strike was, it came far too late to save Hughes' charges, who shipped four goals for the third time in five league games this season.

Southampton 1-0 Swansea: Austin powers Saints past Swans

    charlie-austin-southampton-swansea-city-premier-league-18092016_mpqyuu6y9cyx1pty2xo3j9p28.jpg

A second-half strike from substitute Charlie Austin secured Southampton a deserved first Premier League win of the season as they beat Swansea City 1-0 at St Mary's.

Claude Puel's men had missed a string of chances prior to Austin rifling home his third goal in two games, the striker having struck a brace against Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday.

The former QPR man had also rattled the bar moments before breaking the deadlock, while Lukasz Fabianski had frustrated the hosts with a string of fine saves.

The victory, which lifts Southampton out of the bottom three, was their third in succession over the Welsh side and the clean sheet they kept was their first in 17 games.Swansea, meanwhile, rarely threatened to earn what would have been their first league triumph since the opening day of the season.

And that search may be set to go on with games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool next on the agenda for Francesco Guidolin's men.

Kyle Naughton fired in the opening shot of the game after six minutes, drawing a regulation save from Fraser Forster, but it was the hosts who went on to look the more likely as the half progressed.

A fine burst down the right from Nathan Redmond yielded an opening for Shane Long but the Republic of Ireland striker saw his shot blocked by Fabianski, and the Swansea goalkeeper was also equal to a well-struck free-kick from Dusan Tadic after 20 minutes.

Virgil van Dijk then climbed well to meet a Steven Davis corner, but he failed to get any power in his header and Fabianski saved easily. However, it was Redmond who was guilty of wasting Southampton's best chance moments before the break.

Another clever ball from the lively Tadic released the former Norwich man who found himself with only Fabianski to beat, but blazed his shot wildly over the bar.

The Saints continued to press early in the second half and came within inches of breaking the deadlock on 48 minutes.Redmond played in Long, but although the Irishman's angled shot beat the advancing Fabianski, Naughton was on hand to slide in and clear off the line.

And Southampton were denied again seconds later when Redmond was rather harshly adjudged to have been offside before providing a cut-back which Long stroked into the net.

Long was rather surprisingly replaced by Austin on 54 minutes despite having been a thorn in Swansea's side throughout, although Austin did almost score with what would have been his first touch, just failing to convert a fine cross from Ryan Bertrand.

The 27-year-old was then denied by the crossbar on 62 minutes, but made amends shortly afterwards when he controlled another teasing cross from Redmond and rattled a fierce shot past Fabianski.

Puel's side were guilty of sitting back after going ahead and Swansea may well have snatched an underserved point had Foster not pulled off a fine save to deny Gylfi Sigurdsson four minutes from time.

Tottenham 1-0 Sunderland: Kane steers Spurs past Sunderland

    spurs-sunderland-180916_foodwos20uhw1mxu3u8gbzap0.jpg

Harry Kane's second-half strike gave Tottenham a 1-0 victory over Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino's side were relentless in their quest to bounce back from Wednesday's false start in the Champions League against Monaco at Wembley, although 19 first-half shots amid home comforts at White Hart Lane went unrewarded.

Son Heung-min hit the post before the break and shot wastefully into the side-netting afterwards, but Kane found the breakthrough from close range – the England striker's second goal in as many league matches following a nine-game drought for club and country.

A shambolic contribution from Papy Djilobodji led to Spurs' winner and undermined a tireless defensive effort from Sunderland, although their prospects of an equaliser appeared slim even before Adnan Januzaj's avoidable 90th-minute red card.

David Moyes is the latest manager who has failed to shift the north-east club's tendency to start at a snail's pace and, with one point from five matches, they are one of two winless sides in the top flight along with bottom club Stoke City.

By contrast, Spurs lie third behind the other two undefeated teams after five matches – Manchester City and Everton – although the sight of Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Kane limping off during the close stages soured Pochettino's afternoon.

Dembele was back in the Tottenham side after a six-game domestic suspension, while Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela dropped to the bench following the 2-1 Champions League loss in midweek.

Didier Ndong and Jason Denayer made full debuts for Sunderland, although the latter was only included after Moyes lost full-back Patrick van Aanholt to injury during the warm-up.

Moussa Sissoko flashed an angled fourth-minute shot wide on his first Spurs start, while the hosts had early joy down the flanks and Jordan Pickford made a sharp reaction save to deny Kane after Son whipped in a dangerous ball from the left.

The opening exchanges suggested Sunderland keeper Pickford should bed in for a busy afternoon and he was well placed to hold Toby Alderweireld's header from a 15th-minute corner after turning a Kane effort behind.

Jermain Defoe chased a Pickford clearance to call Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris into action midway through the half before Son and Sissoko had shots blocked and Victor Wanyama dragged one wide on a frantic Tottenham attack.

The lively Son cut inside Denayer, who was enduring a tough baptism at right-back, to thud a shot against the base of Pickford's near post in the 39th minute and Sunderland nervily survived a flurry of corners.

Remarkably, the visitors should have led at the break but Steven Pienaar picked out Kyle Walker on the goalline from Januzaj's cutback.Spurs were back on the front foot in the second period and Son should have done better than lashing into the side-netting after Dembele released him in the area.

When the goal arrived for Kane it was practically gift-wrapped, with Dele Alli knocking down a Walker cross that Djilobodji made a complete hash of clearing to leave the England man with a tap-in.

Pickford, who hesitated under the high ball when Spurs broke through, got down well to his left to deny Alli, with Dier firing wide from the resulting set-piece.

Sunderland's toothlessness in attack meant they were ill-placed to take advantage of Tottenham's unfortunate late flurry of injuries, with Januzaj's second booking for a late challenge on Ben Davies completing a forgettable trip to the capital.

Inter 2-1 Juventus: Icardi stars as Nerazzurri take Derby victory

    mauro-icardi-inter-juventus-serie-a_1oc7uwt6kvl5z14jxnzlql70sm.jpg

Ivan Perisic came off the bench to score the decisive goal for Inter in a 2-1 victory over Juventus that gave head coach Frank de Boer his first home win as Inter coach. The Croatian midfielder powered a header into the net in the 78th minute to send the San Siro crowd into raptures and the result was fully deserved.

In fact, the scoreline flattered Juventus, who came up against an Inter side playing their best football since De Boer was installed as coach and they would have been very fortunate had Stephan Lichtsteiner's 66th minute goal proved to be the winner.

Mauro Icardi scored his fourth goal in as many Serie A games to equalise shortly after and it was Icardi who provided the assist for Perisic to score the winner.

Inter, who struggled to play De Boer's preferred brand of expansive football in their opening three games, were compact, cohesive and robust against a Juventus side not used to being pressed and harried as they were at San Siro. The result leaves Juventus in second place in Serie A behind Napoli while Inter – who saw Ever Banega sent off late on - climb into the top half of the table.

Massimiliano Allegri rested Gonzalo Higuain, despite the Argentine netting a brace in his first Serie A start for the club against Sassuolo, and his side seemed to lack purpose without him leading the line.

Sami Khedira was put clean through on goal in the opening minute but Inter were saved by the offside flag, and the scare prompted Frank de Boer's men to slow things down and compose themselves.

Inter have found goals hard to come by this season and, despite enjoying long spells of possession in the first half against Juventus, they struggled to trouble Gianluigi Buffon's goal.

The best chance of the first half fell to Khedira, who was completely unmarked when Alex Sandro's cross picked him out but his header went weakly into the hands of Samir Handanovic, who released Icardi at the other end.

Icardi jinked his way into the Juventus box and unleashed a swerving shot that clipped the post on its way wide, leaving the scoreline goalless at half-time.

Inter ramped up the pressure after the break and forced Juventus into a number of errors that produced chances for Gary Medel, Eder, Danilo D'Ambrosio and Icardi, but they were all wasted.Juventus, having survived a long spell of Inter pressure, struck what looked like a killer blow after 66 minutes when Alex Sandro broke down the left and crossed for Lichtsteiner to score from close range.

But less than two minutes later Inter were level thanks to their inspirational captain Icardi, who leaped above a crowded penalty area to connect with Banega's corner and head the ball past Buffon.

Inter continued to push forward and they were rewarded when Kwadwo Asamoah gave the ball away cheaply to Candreva, before Icardi delivered a sublime pass with the outside of his boot that found the head of Perisic and he found the corner of the net.

Higuain was sent on by Allegri in the closing stages and he flashed a glancing header wide with Handanovic rooted to the spot, but Inter were not to be denied a hard-fought victory.

The only downside for De Boer was Banega's red card in the final minute for a second bookable offence, but his dismissal and ensuing suspension failed to take the edge off a fine victory for Inter and their ecstatic supporters.

Mourinho concerned after third straight United defeat

    mourinho-cropped_1gdm5qv3k2j3xzjl7sui5svoi.jpg

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says he is saddened by his team's latest defeat against Watford, but insists he will not hit the panic button.

Two goals in the final seven minutes gave the Hornets a thrilling 3-1 Premier League win over United at Vicarage Road on Sunday, condemning the visitors to their third consecutive defeat in all competitions.

Mourinho has been affected by a spell that has seen them lose to rivals Manchester City, Feyenoord and Watford and acknowledges the latest loss will have an impact on his players.

But the former Chelsea boss stressed the importance of seeing the bigger picture and called for positivity from his squad to turn the situation around."I'm sad - obviously I'm sad," Mourinho told MUTV. "I'm always concerned when we don't get the result we want.

"But as I was telling the players, there is only one way - tomorrow we have a training session 10:30 in the morning. We have to be there and we have to work, but they have to show themselves a certain attitude towards the negative moments. "I gave them as an example Ashley Young, who was phenomenal in his attitude and determination.

"We need positive people to give us positive feelings because obviously the next time these guys are going on to a football pitch they are - as a normal human being - going to obviously feel the weight of the defeat."

Mourinho felt United did not deserve to lose the game, with Watford's two late goals coming at a time he felt most satisfied with his team's performance. He continued: "I have this capacity of balance. Nobody saw me running around the pitch because we were winning a couple of matches and nobody sees me now really depressed.

"We had a strong period where we showed intensity, quality and desire. There was a creation of opportunities - the goal, the almost goal [Ibrahimovic's header] when it was a great save by the opponent. "The game was going really well. The pressure was there and the team was trying to win, showing confidence.

"But, in one completely isolated counter-attack - I don't remember David de Gea touching the ball in the second half - they scored a goal."

Mourinho has now lost three competitive matches in succession during the same season for the first time since he was in charge of Porto back in the 2001-02 campaign.

Mazzarri eyes more to come from improving Watford

    waltermazzarri-cropped_1us8bfoltt56f1bkeprjjzmkqk.jpg

Walter Mazzarri believes there is further room for improvement from his Watford side after they stunned Manchester United with a 3-1 Premier League triumph at Vicarage Road.

Watford secured back-to-back wins on Sunday, having previously come from two down to win 4-2 at West Ham last weekend, as a late goal from substitute Juan Zuniga and Troy Deeney's stoppage-time penalty condemned United and Mazzarri's old adversary Jose Mourinho to a third consecutive defeat in the space of eight days.

Mazzarri was dissatisfied with how Watford coped in the aftermath of Marcus Rashford cancelling out Etienne Capoue's opener in the 62nd minute but he was pleased to see his tactical changes – including Zuniga scoring 53 seconds after entering the field – pay dividends."It is a very important three points to give my players the confidence to go ahead," he told BBC Sport, via an interpreter.

"We were playing well, we conceded a goal and we stopped playing and we were afraid. But then we made the changes and everything went the right way.

"It is something we have to work on."We have been improving a lot. I don't look too much on results but how we play and we have been improving dramatically."I am very happy about this. We have to go to Burnley next Monday and play in the same way."

Capoue's first-half strike came in controversial circumstances after Miguel Britos appeared to foul Anthony Martial but Mazzarri would not be drawn on the issue – citing consistency with complaints his own team might have had over recent fixtures.

"You can follow my other interviews in the past weeks, you know that even when we had chances in our favour the referees didn't allow us [the decisions]," he said.
"I never commented on the referees then and I don't intend to do so today."
