'I can always move to China' - Icardi happy at Inter but hints at future exit

    mauroicardi-cropped_1aisvtlltb8m31dka7zadu5uer.jpg

Inter captain Mauro Icardi has not ruled out playing in the Chinese Super League in the future, but he is happy in Serie A.

The lure of the lucrative CSL has seen Oscar and Carlos Tevez become the latest star names to move to China.Oscar made a record-breaking switch to Shanghai SIPG from Premier League leaders Chelsea, while Tevez joined Shanghai Shenhua.

Icardi, however, has no intention of leaving Milan having signed a new five-year deal in October.

"China? I renewed [my contract]," the 23-year-old told Sky Sports Italia. "I'm happy to be with this shirt."China - there is always time at the end of career."

Cavani: I want to sign new PSG deal

    edinson-cavani-coupe-de-la-ligue-psg-metz-11012017_18nvnohgxhrmx151029hlvz8bc.jpg

Edinson Cavani has said he wants to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

The striker, who is currently tied to the club until 2018, grabbed headlines for his angry reaction to being taken off against Rennes in Saturday's encounter. After Unai Emery insisted such a response is "normal", the former Napoli star himself has emerged himself to insist he is set to extend his stay at the club, having long looked likely to sign a new deal which will keep him in the French capital until 2021.

The 29-year-old has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 champions this season, scoring 18 goals in the French top flight in as many games, while he has netted a further six in six Champions League appearances. And the Uruguayan is confident he will remain put for the foreseeable future, insisting he is happy at the club and in the city.

"My stats are good," he told Telefoot. "But this is not what concerns me most. What interests me is that PSG can win and be champions.

"I want to stay in Paris. I am doing very well here and I love this city so I think all conditions will be there to extend. I had a meeting with the president and I hope that it will happen."

Despite Cavani’s excellent form up front, PSG’s season has not been a breeze thus far. After Saturday’s win over Rennes, Emery’s men are still trailing Nice in the Ligue 1 title race, and are only level on points with Monaco, with both teams playing on Sunday.

PSG may have faltered at times this term, but Cavani is confident they are still improving as they look to regain control of the title race.

"We do very good things," he said. "There are some things that we can improve, but it is a PSG that is more dynamic, more conquering than last season."

Aubameyang: Dortmund not on a level with Barca, Madrid or Bayern

    pierreemerickaubameyang-cropped_1ilujd64injvu1ecogf6qfboja.jpg

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is happy to stay at Borussia Dortmund "for now" but accepts the Bundesliga club are not on the same level as Europe's elite clubs.

Aubameyang is currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he opened the scoring for hosts Gabon in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Guinea-Bissau.After the match, the 27-year-old was once again asked about his club future having done much to previously spark speculation himself.

Last month he reiterated his desire to represent Real Madrid on account of a promise he made to his grandfather but he urged the speculation to stop for the time being, while offering a frank assessment of Dortmund's standing – Thomas Tuchel's men lie sixth ahead of the Bundesliga season's resumption.

"For now, I want to stay in Dortmund," Aubameyang told RMC. "I think we’ll stop talking about Madrid. This is not the time to talk about it, especially since I feel really good in Dortmund.

"The challenge is even more beautiful. Of course we are one of the top clubs, but not really like Barca, Madrid or Bayern."It would be nice to win titles with this team, with Dortmund. I hope to do so."Aubameyang also addressed recent reports linking him with a big-money move to the Chinese Super League.

Shanghai SIPG were claimed to have tabled an offer in the region of €150million for the star forward, who it was suggested would have earned an annual salary of €41m, although Dortmund denied receiving an offer."I was on vacation sleeping and my brother called me," he explained."He said to me, 'Have you seen the proposal you have just received?'. So I looked on the internet.

"It amused me. It is nice to see that people are willing to put so much money on the table for you, but whether it is true or not is the question that must be asked.
"I do not pay attention to it. I have other objectives, which are my priorities."

His age is irrelevent - Donnarumma is incredible, says Joe Hart

    gianluigi-donnarumma_1v3yiu0imnn9x1cu92fpb7ap6q.jpg

Torino goalkeeper Joe Hart has praised the talent of his AC Milan counterpart Gianluigi Donnarumma, stating that the level of his performances defy his age.
Costa move to China would scare Europe's eliteThe 17-year-old has attracted a great deal of attention since emerging in the Milan first-team in October 2015 and taking over as their undisputed keeper.

Donnarumma was quickly seen as the natural successor to Gianluigi Buffon at the national team, while Juventus are even said to be interested in him.Hart, 29, who joined fellow Serie A side on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the season, is in awe of the high-flying teenager and has huge expectations of him.

“Donnarumma is incredible, full stop," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "The fact he’s only 17 years old is almost irrelevant and just adds extra gloss to the situation.

"You can tell he’s at the top because he trains at the top. Age can only make him better, but he acts as if he’s already got a long career behind him.”Arsenal have been linked with a £50 million move for Hart's team-mate Andrea Belotti, with the club's officials confirming an offer this week, while a Chinese Super League club has also emerged as a potential destination.

And Hart feels the Italy sensation is a supreme talent.“Andrea is similar to all great strikers, whether they are English or not. It’s difficult to find someone to specifically compare him to: he is Belotti and that’s all.

“As a goalkeeper, I can say his best qualities are the instinct for goal, his character and the fact he is a team player. He’s always got in his mind how to work hard and help his teammates.”

Hart has been keeping an eye on the goings on of the Premier League, and has been impressed by Antonio Conte and his Chelsea side, though the England international says his attention is more focused on his new surroundings.

“Chelsea are not a surprise for me and neither is he. As a manager he’s always been successful and that’s also because he was a great player – just like Roberto Mancini and Sinisa Mihajlovic," he added.

“It’s difficult to make predictions in the Premier League, as unpredictable things can happen and I know that well: I won the title in a crazy way and lost one unexpectedly.

“I do watch some Premier League football, but my priority now is Serie A, so I try to watch Italian football when possible. It is understandable why the Premier League is more popular around the world, as it’s more ‘visible’ and there’s so much on offer. But playing here I have realised how you Italians live the sport with pride and passion.

“People say the English players don’t come to Italy because they look down on Serie A, but that’s just not true. Aside from the guaranteed earnings from the Premier League, I think it’s also because there isn’t much of a dialogue between English and Italian clubs: if they communicated more often, these moves would happen more. I see no reason why not.”

Ozil tops Kroos to be named German Player of the Year for a fifth time

    mesut-ozil-arsenal_i3pqyie6vdcg1dg1e4n7zupdx.jpg

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been named German Payer of the Year for a fifth time.

The 28-year-old has dominated the prize in recent years, having first picked up the honour in 2011.Since then, 2014 is the only year in which he has not topped the poll.He was an overwhelming winner in 2016, claiming 54.5 per cent of the 316,850 votes.

Toni Kroos, the only man to deny Ozil in the last six years following his exploits in a successful World Cup campaign, finished second. The Real Madrid midfielder was way back on the Gunners forward this time round, though, with 33.9 per cent of the vote.

Jonas Hector, with four per cent, took third place. The Koln full-back has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea over recent weeks, so could soon be joining Ozil in the Premier League.

The Arsenal star remains the pick of the German crop for now, though, and insists he will continue striving for continuous improvement. He told the DFB’s official website: “I’ve changed a few things in my life this past year, for example my diet and my training.

“That helps me to regenerate fast after games and it reduces the chance of getting injured. And obviously you can’t lose the love for the game. But that’s not going to be the case for me!”

Ozil has netted nine times in all competitions for Arsenal this season, including a hat-trick in a 6-0 Champions League demolition of Ludogorets in October 2016.
He has also provided three Premier League assists, helping Arsene Wenger’s side to remain in title contention.

On the international stage, Ozil has been involved in a faultless start to 2018 World Cup qualification, with Germany currently top of UEFA Group C after four rounds of fixtures.

Everton 4-0 Manchester City: Toffees make easy work of Guardiola's men

    lukaku-everton-manchester-city_19jj7eulcy7rk15722hojaecyt.jpg

Everton claimed a clinical 4-0 win at a rain-lashed Goodison Park to leave Manchester City with a tenuous grasp on their Premier League title ambitions.

Pep Guardiola's side dominated possession during the first half but lacked the clinical touch shown by Romelu Lukaku when he dispatched his 12th Premier League goal of the season from the hosts' only shot on goal during the opening 45 minutes.

It became two from two a little over a minute after the restart, with Lukaku and City's slipshod defence again to the fore as his Belgium international colleague Kevin Mirallas picked out the bottom corner.

Teenage midfielder Tom Davies crowned a majestic performance with a remarkable first senior goal 11 minutes from time and new signing Ademola Lookman came off the bench to add a fourth on his debut, ensuring Everton moved four points clear of West Brom in seventh – cementing their current status as best of the rest against the present worst of the elite,City were aggrieved when Raheem Sterling was denied an early penalty but their lack of conviction in the final third and persistent vulnerabilities around their own box mean an aging squad appear increasingly likely to view a keenly contested title battle from a distance.

As Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United have composed imposing winning runs, City have won four and lost four of their past eight Premier League outings - form that makes for dismal reading ahead of next weekend's showdown with Spurs and their overall prospects of securing Champions League qualification.

Raheem Sterling enjoyed City's first clear opening, after Mirallas had seen a goal chalked off for offside, but opted to try and round Joel Robles, went to ground over the Everton goalkeeper's trailing leg and was frustrated in his penalty appeals.

The England winger did get a shot off on the end of Kevin De Bruyne's lofted pass, only to stab a volley directly at Robles. The Spaniard was then out quickly to thwart countryman David Silva and, after absorbing mounting City pressure, the hosts hit the front in the 34th minute.

Davies collected Gael Clichy's wayward clearance and his measured pass sent Mirallas into space down the right channel to cut back for Lukaku to convert with nonchalant ease.

Sterling fizzed just wide from long range and right-back Bacary Sagna saw Davies clear his header off the line in first-half stoppage time as Guardiola's men reached the interval in arrears.

They began the second period in dreadfully lacklustre fashion and faced double the deficit within 62 seconds of the restart.

John Stones - barracked throughout on his return to his former club - cut out Lukaku's pass but Pablo Zabaleta was slow to react to the loose ball, leaving Ross Barkley to pick out Mirallas to finish unerringly having been played onside by Nicolas Otamendi.City now lacked their earlier fluency, with scrappy passages of attacking play punctuated by some abject set-piece delivery.

Robles was on hand for smart saves to keep out Sergio Aguero and De Bruyne, by which stage Everton recording back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since September was in little doubt.

Davies made sure in glorious style, collecting possession in his own half and turning inside Gael Clichy and Yaya Toure before picking himself up off the turf and dinking Barkley's return pass over Claudio Bravo for an unforgettable first senior goal.

And there was much mirth when Lookman was the beneficiary of a stoppage-time error by Stones, who was unlikely to receive any assistance from team-mates who seemed to have given up entirely as their manager suffered the heaviest league loss of his illustrious career.

Costa, like Ronaldo and Rooney, can make his own mind up - Scholes

    diego-costa-cristiano-ronaldo_1r0hkwad4v7mr1ngsmelih6gga.jpg

Paul Scholes sees similarities between Diego Costa’s situation at Chelsea and experiences he had at Manchester United with Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

The Blues striker has become embroiled in a heated debate regarding his future at Stamford Bridge, with the riches on offer in the Chinese Super League said to have turned his head.

He played no part in a 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Saturday, with his absence put down to a back complaint.Speculation regarding an imminent exit refuses to go away, though, with the winter transfer window open and Chelsea having already seen Oscar and John Obi Mikel leave Stamford Bridge for Asia.

Scholes saw Ronaldo and Rooney caught up in similar storms during his time at Old Trafford, with the latter twice requesting a transfer while the former completed a then record-breaking switch to Real Madrid. He insists that he never discussed the matter with those in question, with it up to individuals to decide their own fate.

Asked on BT Sport whether he spoke to Rooney and Ronaldo during periods of uncertainty, Scholes said: "No, not one bit. Why?"They're old enough to make their own minds up. If they don't want to play for the football club any more, so what?

"My job on a Saturday afternoon - and a Tuesday/Wednesday night - was to go out and try to win the game with my team-mates."Whoever I'm playing with - doesn't matter who it is. I don't care as long as we win the game."

Chelsea did not appear to miss Costa too much against Leicester, but the Spain international has netted 14 Premier League goals this season and been a key figure in their title bid.

The Blues are next in action on January 22 when they welcome Hull City to Stamford Bridge, with plenty of focus likely to be placed on the team sheet for that fixture.

:love:Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool: Zlatan uses his head to save a point

    zlatan-ibrahimovic-manchester-united-liverpool_1sqwp5isgyz1p1piup9rlglaj2.jpg

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a dramatic equaliser with six minutes remaining as Manchester United grabbed a 1-1 Premier League draw at home to Liverpool.

Paul Pogba had looked like being the villain of the piece for United, but Ibrahimovic's header – his 10th goal in 10 top-flight games – prevented a damaging defeat.

James Milner's 27th-minute penalty and sixth league goal of the season – awarded after a handball from Pogba – had looked like it would prove to be the winner at Old Trafford.

Pogba missed a brilliant opportunity to put United ahead prior to Milner's strike, while Simon Mignolet had made key saves from Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the first half, but had barely been troubled prior to the veteran Swede's intervention.

United's nine-match winning streak in all competitions is now over, but they still sit within five points of second place after salvaging a draw.Liverpool, meanwhile, are winless in four matches and trail leaders Chelsea by seven having dropped from second to third over the course of the weekend.

The hosts had threatened first when Ibrahimovic – one of four players brought into Jose Mourinho's team - charged down Mignolet after a weak back-pass from Dejan Lovren and watched the ball deflect agonisingly onto the roof of the net.

United then squandered a golden chance to take the lead when Mkhitaryan produced a superb throughball to release Pogba, but the midfielder could only drag his left-footed shot wide.

Pogba's first half got worse when Milner swept in a corner from the right and the France international's raised arm inside the area prevented Lovren from attempting a header.

Milner took the penalty himself and confidently beat David de Gea despite the goalkeeper correctly diving to his left.Mignolet made a brilliant stop from Ibrahimovic's powerful 20-yard free-kick at the other end, saving the visitors after Divock Origi – starting as one of four Liverpool changes - had brought down Ander Herrera in a dangerous position.

The Liverpool keeper was alert again to keep out Mkhitaryan's left-footed strike after the playmaker had been fed by Herrera, ensuring Jurgen Klopp's men had a half-time lead.Mourinho brought on Wayne Rooney for Michael Carrick at the break, the United captain's 450th Premier League appearance.

Origi saw an effort deflect narrowly wide, but the hosts were soon in the ascendancy when a fast counterattack – prompted by Anthony Martial dispossessing Trent Alexander-Arnold on his Premier League debut - led to Mkhitaryan's cut-back just evading the France forward.

Klopp then introduced Philippe Coutinho from the substitutes' bench and his change almost had an instant impact with the playmaker setting up compatriot Roberto Firmino, only for De Gea to make a two-handed stop.Juan Mata, who had scored three goals in his last four league games against Liverpool, replaced Martial, but United were finding it more difficult to create openings, Rooney shooting wide from one rare chance.

If anything, the visitors were looking more likely to put the game beyond United, Adam Lallana denied by De Gea and Georginio WIjnaldum just off-target with a header.

But Ibrahimovic struck in dramatic fashion, his looping header from Antonio Valencia's cross beating Mignolet and a despairing clearance from Lovren, the move kept alive after substitute Marouane Fellaini had headed Rooney's delivery against the post.

Unbeaten Run Ended :( A Spanish Record. Shik! Waradimaa welawe waradima opponent ta waradima widihata paradune :(

Sevilla who are second in la liga and now just one point behind us although we have a game in hand.

Pure brilliance in performance against Sevilla in the first match with not many starters on the team. Won 3-0. Second one not so and barely held out 3-3. Third one pretty bad and lost 2-1. This is troubling. And most of the starters were on the team. :sorry:

Lost it in injury time :sorry: The way we used to win games :(

Time to get back into winning. Ronaldo is lagging without Bale. And not really in sync with the team. He should perform really well in the upcoming matches. Specially in La liga and the UCL.

Sevilla 2-1 Real Madrid: Jovetic ends Merengue unbeaten run in thriller

    stevan-jovetic-sevilla-real-madrid-la-liga-15012017_17y6lw3c97961vdea531t9ksw.jpg

Real Madrid's 40-match unbeaten run came to an end as Sevilla scored twice late on to secure a 2-1 victory in a thrilling conclusion to Sunday's La Liga encounter.

It was the teams' second meeting in four days at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan after an enthralling 3-3 draw in the Copa del Rey last 16 on Thursday, but until the 85th minute this clash failed to live up to the drama of that tie.

Cristiano Ronaldo had given Madrid the lead midway through the second period with a coolly taken penalty - his 21st goal in just 13 appearances against Sevilla.

The build-up to this fixture saw the clubs involved in a spat surrounding Sevilla fans' treatment of Sergio Ramos during the Copa clash, and the home fans will have taken delight in the Madrid captain heading past his own goalkeeper to level matters.

But worse was to come for the leaders as, in stoppage time, Stevan Jovetic marked his maiden league appearance for Sevilla with the winner - curling a shot from just outside the box that Keylor Navas could only parry into the bottom-right corner.

The victory - Sevilla's eighth at home from nine league outings this season - lifts them above Barcelona and into second, a point behind Madrid who have a game in hand.

Ramos - chosen alongside Nacho and Raphael Varane in a back three rather than the usual four - was rarely troubled as Sevilla struggled to break through until the remarkable end to the game.

Steven N'Zonzi glanced a header over from a corner and Samir Nasri brought a comfortable save out of Navas, while at the other end Ronaldo thumped one free-kick into the wall and saw another low shot easily held by Sergio Rico. The best chance of the half arrived five minutes before the interval, but Ronaldo failed to get a telling touch on Karim Benzema's low ball across the area.

Sevilla began the second period brightly with Navas forced to tip over Franco Vazquez's effort and the goalkeeper got down smartly to his right to deny Wissam Ben Yedder's low drive in the 54th minute.

Benzema wasted a glorious chance nine minutes later, hacking wildly over from eight yards following a mad scramble inside the Sevilla box.But Madrid were not made to rue that miss as Dani Carvajal robbed Sergio Escudero and burst into the area, where he was taken out by Rico close to the byline.

Sevilla complained about the decision, without justification, and after Vitolo attempted to put off Ronaldo by scuffing the penalty spot - Ronaldo throwing the ball at his opponent in retaliation - the Portuguese calmly dispatched his kick into the bottom-left corner.

It was Ronaldo's 12th goal in seven trips to Sevilla, but the hosts were not in the mood to give up and had their leveller five minutes from normal time as Pablo Sarabia's wicked free-kick from the right was nodded in by Ramos.

And there was to be one final twist as Navas failed to keep out Jovetic's effort, Sevilla fans and players ecstatic at the final whistle as a shell-shocked Madrid were forced to contemplate their long undefeated run coming to a close.

Fiorentina 2-1 Juventus: Kalinic & Badelj on target as leaders beaten

    nikola-kalinic-fiorentina-juventus-getty-images_1jbt8bxb5q9eh1ssiohoyf8uyi.jpg

Fiorentina breathed life into the Serie A title race by producing a commanding performance to beat bitter rivals and pacesetters Juventus 2-1 on Sunday.

Roma's 1-0 win over Udinese earlier in the day cut Juve's lead to a single point and they rarely looked like providing a response, as Paulo Sousa's men dominated for much of the match and deservedly secured a rare victory over their fierce foes.Juve were guilty of a particularly limp showing in the first half, as Fiorentina took control with an intense display and carved open numerous chances.

Nikola Kalinic eventually gave the home side the lead with his ninth league goal of the season, late on in an opening period that offered Juve few reasons to be positive.

Fiorentina deservedly doubled their advantage in the 54th minute through Milan Badelj's fluke effort, but Gonzalo Higuain swiftly pulled one back with his sixth Serie A goal in four outings.

Juve, who still have a game in hand on their title rivals, piled the pressure on towards the end as things got desperate, but Fiorentina were ultimately good value for the triumph.

Leonardo Bonucci's pre-match snipe suggesting this was Fiorentina's "game of the year", but only a "stepping stone" on Juve's path to glory seemed to be given credence by the hosts' start, as they attacked with brilliant ferocity.

Matias Vecino was particularly threatening, forcing Gianluigi Buffon into a strong save seven minutes in after latching on to a loose ball on the edge of the area.

The Uruguayan went even closer a few minutes later, darting into the left side of the area to offer support to Kalinic and eventually slamming a left-footed effort on to the post.

Fiorentina finally made the most of their superiority eight minutes before the break – Kalinic beating Buffon from a tight angle after being fed into the box by Filippo Bernardeschi.Juve almost levelled on the stroke of half-time, but Maxi Olivera crucially blocked Higuain's goal-bound effort to preserve the hosts' lead.

Fiorentina remained in the ascendancy early in the second period and should have scored a second four minutes after the restart, but Kalinic delayed his finish after racing on to Bernardeschi's incisive pass and Buffon made an important block.

Buffon was beaten a few moments later, though, as Badelj's half-volleyed pass from deep sailed all the way through without a touch from anyone else and found the bottom-right corner.

Juve gave themselves a lifeline just before the hour mark. Higuain stabbed home from close range after Sami Khedira's cross struck Stefano Sturaro and dropped kindly for the Argentinian.Fiorentina generally did a good job of keeping Juve at arm's length thereafter, but had two lucky escapes in the final 10 minutes.

Ciprian Tatarusanu closed his legs just in time to keep a Higuain header out and, in the ensuing scramble, Giorgio Chiellini saw his effort kept out by the goalkeeper.
Paulo Dybala then blazed over after darting into the box with two minutes to go, letting Fiorentina off the hook.

Ronaldo equals La Liga penalty record in Real Madrid loss

    ronaldo-cropped_18wmlb1ciz03k1i2mvp0lcysh8.jpg

Cristiano Ronaldo has tied a La Liga record for the most penalties scored in the competition's history. The Real Madrid forward levelled the mark of 56 spot-kicks scored by Hugo Sanchez during Sunday's loss to Sevilla at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Ronaldo netted his record-equalling goal from the spot in the 67th minute despite Vitolo attempting to put him off by scuffing the penalty spot, the Portugal international calmly finding the bottom-left corner.

Goalkeeper Sergio Rico had conceded the penalty for a foul on Dani Carvajal, but Ronaldo's effort from 12 yards was not enough for Madrid to win as a late Sevilla comeback sent them to a stunning 2-1 defeat.

Real Madrid relaxed, admits Zidane after Sevilla defeat

    zinedinezidane-cropped_1ldo7nphsrd4z1vcp4zxs8mbds.jpg

Real Madrid "relaxed" after taking the lead against Sevilla according to Zinedine Zidane, who saw his side's 40-match unbeaten run ended in dramatic fashion.
The La Liga leaders were 1-0 up with five minutes of normal time remaining at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, after Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty broke the deadlock midway through the second half.

But Sergio Ramos' own goal levelled matters and in stoppage time, Keylor Navas could only parry substitute Stevan Jovetic's shot into the bottom-right corner as Madrid tasted defeat for the first time since a 2-0 loss to Wolfsburg on April 6.

Sevilla's victory lifts them above Barcelona into second with Madrid a point ahead at the summit, having played one game fewer.

"We relaxed for five minutes and that was enough to let the win escape," conceded Zidane. "It's hard considering how the game went but that's football."We managed for 85 minutes. We added another dynamic but lost focus for only five minutes.

"You have to accept the result. We know something could happen but we'll use this as motivation for the next game. We knew it was logical that one day the unbeaten run would come to an end.

"I always said that the season until the end is tough. We were unfortunate with the own goal. But this can happen in football. I am very proud of my players.

"Sevilla have shown that they are contenders for La Liga. We will continue with the same work as we've done until now. We'll analyse the game and see what needs to improve.

"I'm happy with the game but disappointed with our two mistakes. We aren't going to change anything. It's difficult to digest a loss but you have to relax and think about Wednesday [against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey] with a clear head.

"Sevilla played very well. They were intense in everything they did. Obviously we're hurt. A defeat is never welcome here."

Zidane also paid tribute to Ramos, who was the target for abuse from Sevilla fans in Thursday's 3-3 Copa draw, responding by cupping his hands to his ears in celebration after converting a 'Panenka' penalty.

"I'm very proud of our captain, he played a great game," Zidane said. "Own goals happen in football. He showed great personality."

'Money is not everything' - Conte issues warning amid China speculation

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has told his players "money is not everything" as speculation linking Diego Costa with a move to the Chinese Super League continues.

Costa was not included in Chelsea's squad for the 3-0 Premier League win at Leicester City on Saturday amid reports he has been offered £30million a year to move to Tianjin Quanjian.

Reports claimed the club's top goalscorer had an argument with Conte and a fitness coach in training having become unsettled by the approach, while his agent Jorge Mendes fuelled speculation by holding a meeting with the Chinese club.

But Conte, who insisted Costa had only missed the match because of a back injury, issued a warning to his players about the temptation of China and compared it to the prestige of playing for Chelsea. The Italian's words come as Willian is also linked as a target for teams in the CSL after Chelsea already sold Oscar and John Obi Mikel to teams in the competition."The money is not everything," Conte told reporters.

"When you play for a great team like Chelsea, you must be pleased."I think we are a great club and it is a great honour to play for Chelsea. For this reason I don't see [China] as a threat for my players.

"I have to look at the past. Oscar played with us, had a good offer from China and he went. "But this league is really competitive and every player wants to come and play in this league.

"This league is the first in the world because of a lot of positive things, so I don't think these offers from China are a threat for our league."Chelsea are seven points clear of Tottenham and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

Messi and Barcelona need each other - Mascherano

Javier Mascherano believes Barcelona and Lionel Messi “need each other” and hopes to see his fellow Argentine remain at Camp Nou “forever”.Speculation regarding the 29-year-old’s future in Catalunya has resurfaced amid uncertainty surrounding a contract renewal.

Messi’s current deal is due to expire in 2018 and no fresh terms have been agreed as yet.The reigning Spanish champions have seen Neymar and Luis Suarez commit to new contracts, but no extension has been put in place with the club’s talisman.

Barca remain optimistic that a deal will be done, despite issues regarding a lack of room for manoeuvre within La Liga salary caps.

Messi’s team-mates have also been speaking out on the matter, with Mascherano the latest to express a desire for a positive conclusion to be reached in a drawn out process.

He told Spanish news outlet Sport: "I have no doubt that both Messi and the club need each other. The relationship between both parties has been really good up until now.

"I hope that, in terms of elite football, Messi plays here forever. There’s no better place for him, although it’s a matter which must be dealt with in private by Barcelona."

Messi may have missed out on the biggest individual accolades of 2016 to Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, but he is still enjoying a fine campaign at Camp Nou.

He was among the goals again on Saturday as Barca blitzed Las Palmas 5-0, with a solitary strike in that contest taking him to 27 for the season in just 24 appearances.
