'I don't know if he will leave' - Arsenal target Lacazette in limbo after Atletico deal falls through

    alexandre-lacazette-lyon-ligue-1_13bfsab39qkrf1hvrt7yxze79i.jpg

Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette could leave the club this summer, after a deal with Atletico Madrid fell through, according to the French club's president Jean-Michel Aulas.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of marquee striker additions this summer, and have now seemingly turned their attentions to the 26-year-old.However, Aulas maintains that Lacazette will stay, after negotiations with Spanish club Atletico Madrid fell through.

"Today, the question of Alexandre leaving is annoying," he told reporters. For us, he won't leave. he'll be there for pre-season. Anyway, he's under contract."Alexandre knows our position. If he wants to try his hand somewhere else, there must be offers, which have gone straight to him. For the moment, I have no others. I don't know if he wants to leave. Maybe he'll give me a call.

"The ideal scenario would be that he stays and the goals we've set."An initial report from Get France Football claimed that Aulas had spoken of an offer from Arsenal, though this has been proven as incorrect.

Aulas has previously invited an offer from PSG for Lacazette, having taken the stance that he would rather sell the striker to a domestic rival than sanction a move to England.

"I know Nasser suggested to Noel Le Graet [president of the French Football Federation] that he is not investing that much in French players because he thought other presidents of French clubs looked badly upon it," he told France Football earlier this week."I want him to know that if he makes an offer for Alexandre at least equal to that of the other clubs bidding for him, then Alex can go to Paris without problem.

"I am a businessman and a modern club president. Transfer money must be reinvested into French football, as I always did when we were at the peak of our powers.

"When transfer money is shared abroad, it strengthens our competitors instead."
Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 appearances for Lyon in the 2016-17 season.

:)'I'm good at them' - Lindelof offers to take free-kicks for Man Utd

    victor-lindelof-sweden-2017_1390g50tcfbdu158f06pgbkq4c.jpg

Victor Lindelof believes his ability from set-pieces could help him to start repaying Manchester United’s €35 million investment in his talent. The Sweden international has completed a big-money move from Benfica to become Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the 2017 summer transfer window.

He has been acquired to further bolster the defensive ranks at Old Trafford, with the 22-year-old considered to be a shrewd acquisition for the present and future.

Lindelof is about much more than merely keeping opponents quiet, though, and already has his eye on free-kick duty – having shown at Benfica that he is capable of producing the spectacular.

“I’m quite good at them so if I get an opportunity to take a free-kick, I think I’ll be there,” he told MUTV.United already have plenty of options at dead-ball situations, with the likes of Juan Mata, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford on their books.

Lindelof will, however, add to the threat posed from set-pieces and could follow in the footsteps of David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo by becoming a free-kick specialist at Old Trafford.

He already has one stunning effort on his CV, with the strike in the video above helping Benfica to a draw with arch-rivals Sporting. If he can produce something similar at United, then the 22-year-old will be become another useful asset for the club at both ends of the field.

'Dybala needs to leave Juventus to improve' - Dani Alves

    paulodybala-cropped_13rqlm4416pvv1284mzd3ze8kc.jpg

Dani Alves has told Paulo Dybala he will have to leave Juventus in order to reach his full potential.

Argentina international Dybala has been tipped as Lionel Messi's heir, a claim that gained more weight when he hit a double in Juve's 3-0 Champions League quarter-final first-leg win over Barcelona. The 23-year-old has been persistently linked with a move to Camp Nou, as well as Liga champions Real Madrid, and Juve team-mate Alves believes such a transfer is required for him to improve.

"La Joya [Dybala's nickname] will bear fruit," Alves said in an interview on Esporte Interativo."We have spoken many times and I told him that one day, I do not know when, he will have to leave Juventus to improve even more."

Dybala has won back-to-back Scudetti and Coppa Italia since joining Juve in 2015, but he was on the losing side in the Champions League final this month in a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid.

Regarding his own future, Alves, who has one year remaining on his contract with Juventus, would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

"Last year I turned down many offers from the Premier League because I felt I had to go to Serie A," he said."There is a great defensive culture, and to go and play in England you have to know how to defend well. I hope that one day I will go there."Asked if that could happen soon, Alves responded: "Who knows? We'll see."

:(Rooney linked with Man Utd exit as Stoke rubbish reports of interest

    wayne-rooney-manchester-united_1458s5jywxlar1mgwlzyfa6te6.jpg

Wayne Rooney continues to be linked with a summer move away from Manchester United, but Stoke hold no interest in the forward at present.

With the 31-year-old having fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, it is expected that he will go in search of regular game time when the transfer window re-opens.

Various landing spots have been mooted for the England international, from a possible return to his roots at Everton to a foreign adventure in Major League Soccer or the Chinese Super League.

Stoke were also reported to be among those eager to discuss a deal for the vastly-experienced striker, but Potters chief executive Tony Scholes claims there is no substance to those rumours.

He said in The Sentinel: “What I can't do is shed any light on where the rumours have come from.“That happens at this time of year. We have some speculation, some of it is based upon some truth, no smoke without fire, but other times you get wild speculation, and the Wayne Rooney one falls into the latter category.

“Wayne Rooney has been one of the best players of his generation. He has been, and still is, a great football player.

“But there have been no conversations whatsoever about Wayne Rooney coming to Stoke.”Rooney made 39 appearances for United in the 2016-17 campaign, netting eight goals.

Those efforts helped him to become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, to complement a similar record held with the England national team.He was, however, restricted to just 15 Premier League starts, with Jose Mourinho often favouring other options.

Courtois rejects first contract offer from Chelsea but remains keen to agree new deal

    thibaut-courtois-chelsea_npjdz3b55to41wz7oyle65n1h.jpg

Thibaut Courtois has rejected Chelsea's opening offer of a new contract but both parties hope to agree a new deal despite interest from Real Madrid, Goal understands.

Courtois, who is currently on £100,000-a-week, wants to double his salary to £200,000-a-week and is hopeful an agreement can be reached before the start of the new season.

Chelsea's first offer was discarded amicably but talks are set to resume soon. Madrid are not expecting the Belgium international to become available during the current window despite their attempts to convince him to move back in February.

Los Blancos are still keen to secure an upgrade on Keylor Navas but have been knocked back in their pursuit of Courtois and Manchester United's David de Gea and appear set to continue with their current No.1 in 2017-18.

Gianluigi Donnarumma could also be an option for Zinedine Zidane's side but that deal will be far from easy despite the AC Milan wonderkid's refusal to extend a contract that has one year left to run.

Courtois has two years left on his current terms at Chelsea and he will join up with the Blues for pre-season training in the second week in July.

Willy Caballero is expected to join the club on a free transfer from Manchester City to replace departing backup Asmir Begovic, who has officially left the club in a £10 million deal that will take him to Bournemouth.

Third-choice stopper Eduardo, meanwhile, has penned an agreement to remain at Stamford Bridge for another year.Courtois won the Premier League's Golden Glove award for 2016-17 after keeping 16 clean sheets as Chelsea won the title. He is now a two-time English champion and has also won league titles in Spain and Belgium.

Benaglio joins Monaco after Wolfsburg exit

    diego-benaglio-cropped_f22hnpsxk2i11m31nx2bfnqy8.jpg

Diego Benaglio has signed a three-year contract with Ligue 1 champions Monaco after leaving Wolfsburg.

The 33-year-old's contract at Volkswagen Arena still had two years to run but he has opted to move to the Ligue 1 champions, agreeing a deal at Stade Louis II through to 2020.

The former Switzerland goalkeeper, who retired from international football in 2014, will compete with Danijel Subasic and Morgan De Sanctis for the number one shirt at Leonardo Jardim's title-holders."It's an honour to join AS Monaco, the reigning French champions," he said in a statement on the club website.

"I followed the team's results last year, they achieved great things. Obviously I've also followed Falcao's season and Kylian Mbappe's development. I can't wait to meet the squad. I'll be doing my best to bring my experience and everything I can to the team."

Benaglio, who made 14 league appearances last season, leaves Wolfsburg on good terms, stating his intention in a statement on the Bundesliga side's website to return to the club in the future.
"As much as I am looking forward to this new chapter in my career with AS Monaco, leaving here is very difficult for me," he said. "Wolfsburg and VfL have become the second home for my family and me. I am already looking forward to my return."
Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe said: "What pleases us even more though is that we have basically agreed with Diego Benaglio that he will return to take a position at VfL Wolfsburg once he has finished his active playing career and that he will remain closely connected with us."

Former Grasshopper and Stuttgart player Benaglio had made over 250 league appearances for Wolfsburg since joining the club from Nacional of Portugal in 2008.

'It's a dream to play for Manchester United' - Anderson Talisca discusses potential Premier League transfer

    talisca-besiktas_4icicjr9qwsz17l4z13w6nipw.jpg

Brazil Under-23 international Anderson Talisca has revealed that it would be his 'dream' to play for Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.

The attacker spent last season on loan at Besiktas from Benfica, scoring 13 goals in 22 Super Lig games for the Istanbul club. His prowess in front of goal has seen him linked with various clubs, including United.

Talisca says he loves Jose Mourinho and is hopeful that his representatives can agree a transfer to Old Trafford.

"It's a love that exists, I will not lie," Talisca told Globoesporte about Mourinho.
"But it [a move] does not depend on me alone. It depends on Benfica, my representatives, who are dealing with the situation. But soon, soon, they will have the news there."

Talisca has been compared to both Yaya Toure and Neymar, and has scored 20 goals in 76 total appearances for Benfica since moving to Portugal from Brazilian side Bahia.

He has lifted two Primeira Liga and one Super Lig title with Benfica and Besiktas respectively, but is hoping to further his career with a 'dream' move to Old Trafford.

"It's a dream, something all players want," Talisca continued. "I had a good season and, as I said, his love is old and I like his work too. He's a great coach and I hope everything goes well."

Sporting CP to Ronaldo: 'The prodigal son always comes back home'

    cristiano-ronaldo-portugal_zb4lb924rk0w10nq85g91zz44.jpg

Is Cristiano Ronaldo ready to come home? That’s what Portugul side Sporting CP are hoping is the case as rumours swirl about the star attacker's potential exit from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo spent his early days with the Portuguese giants, coming through their youth system before making 25 appearances for the senior side between 2002-03.

The future superstar’s time with the first team was short-lived however as he joined Manchester United before the 2003-04 season, where he would go on to individual and team accolades at Old Trafford and at the Bernabeu with Madrid.

However, with talk that Ronaldo’s time with the Spanish giants may be up, his old club are hoping the star is aching for a return to the place where he grew up.
A tweet from the club reads: “Cristiano, the prodigal son always comes back home… why the delay?”

Sporting join the list of suitors lining up to offer a place on their sides to the forward, no matter how unlikely a move to those clubs would be. We’ll see if this time Ronaldo does decide to turn his back on Manchester United in favour of a return to the Portuguese capital.

    1. Some madrid fans are pure shit! They don't know how to treat players
    2. Madrid board doesn't know how to treat players. Similar case with Pepe
    3. perhaps Ronaldo is guilty in this case and maybe he's trying to evade by leaving spain somehow
    4. Just pure rumors. Although Marca & a portugese paper both have apparently reported this.

Anyway it's not likely he'll return to man u with murinho as coach. They have bad blood between them. But there's a 1 billion dollar transfer fee so might happen.

I hate this shit! Not a player that should leave by any means

Real Sociedad confirm interest in Manchester United's Januzaj

    adnan-januzaj-manchester-united_1nmdu4eo6h72gzqqrwt2tf6mo.jpg

Real Sociedad has confirmed interest in Manchester United attacker Adnan Januzaj.

Jokin Aperribay, president of the La Liga outfit, admitted that his side are hoping to sign the Belgian, but ultimately it's up to the English side to decide on his future. The 22-year-old broke into United's first team during the 2013-14 season but hasn't been able to lock down regular minutes in the time since.

Loan spells with Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland followed, and it seems the man who found favor under David Moyes may be on his way out the door for good.

While Celtic has been mentioned as an option for the winger, Aperribay made it clear the Scotish club wasn't the only team with an interest in him.

"It's true that we are interested [in Januzaj] but we are not in talks with Manchester or with him," Aperribay said at a press conference as quoted by Mundo Deportivo. "We are waiting for the decision of Manchester United and then we will act. There are more teams interested in him and his signing won't be easy."

Spanish publication Marca reported that United were ready to let Januzaj leave for £8.8m. The 22-year-old failed to impress Jose Mourinho after his season-long loan spell at Sunderland.

Andre Silva: Ronaldo seems 'very serious' amid Real Madrid exit storm

    cristiano-ronaldo-portugal_zb4lb924rk0w10nq85g91zz44.jpg

Cristiano Ronaldo remains "focused and very serious" about Portugal's Confederations Cup campaign after a sensational report emerged claiming he wants to leave Real Madrid.

Madrid were rocked on Friday when Portuguese newspaper A Bola claimed the 32-year-old no longer wanted to play in Spain amid scrutiny over his tax affairs, a story that sources close to the player have seemingly since confirmed to other international news outlets.

Ronaldo's representatives have strongly denied an accusation that the forward concealed earnings and defrauded the Spanish tax authorities out of €14.7million.Madrid have expressed "full confidence" in Ronaldo and believe he will be proved innocent of any wrongdoing, but nonetheless he is claimed to have made an "irreversible decision" to leave Santiago Bernabeu.

The storm has gone on while Portugal are preparing for the Confederations Cup in Russia – their first game coming against Mexico on Sunday – but Ronaldo's international colleague Andre Silva insists his captain is concentrating on the task at hand.

"As far as I can see, he is motivated about the national team - he is focused and very serious," Silva told reporters after being asked how Ronaldo had seemed since the tax charges emerged on Tuesday.

Silva, who Ronaldo has tipped as his heir for Portugal, is loving the experience of playing alongside the four-time Ballon d'Or winner."It is a dream, for many years I had imagined playing with Cristiano, so I am happy to play with him," he said.

"I try to listen to him and he explains things to me in the best way. I think our good communication has led to good results."

Man City will be 'extremely strong' when Guardiola completes signings, says Laporta

    pepguardiola-cropped_1q8isvm5zteqx1vtfemch3s9ro.jpg

Manchester City fans should be excited about having an "extremely strong team" once Pep Guardiola has completed his business in the transfer market, according Joan Laporta.

Laporta appointed Guardiola as Barcelona boss back in 2008 and met up with his close friend at an event for the Johan Cruyff foundation this week.

The ex-Barca president revealed the City manager was sounding very optimistic about 2017-18, despite finishing third and failing to win a trophy in his first season in England.

Laporta is in no doubt Guardiola will get it right and got the sense there was major transfer business on the horizon."If City back him as he deserves he will succeed," Laporta told The Guardian."He is an optimist, a winner and he is brave. He won't hide.

"Pep looked very well. He was here for a few days, so we met up and he was very upbeat. He is happy at City, optimistic he can build something. "The way they plan to go about strengthening the team, I think they are going to be extremely strong. The fans will be very excited.

"I don't know what they are going to do! What I do know, and very well, is Pep and Txiki Begiristain and that they are capable of building a team that will enthuse people."

Laporta pointed to Guardiola adapting to life at Bayern Munich and achieving success to back up his conviction over City's future prospects.

He continued: "Pep's record speaks for itself. Everywhere has its idiosyncrasies. He knew Barcelona as a kid but was successful at Bayern and I'm convinced he will be at City. He is lucky to work with Txiki [Begiristain] and Ferran Soriano, who trust him. That's peace of mind. "When I saw Pep he was animated, enthusiastic, excited for the future. He’s smart, has emotional intelligence, an ability to convince.

"It is not easy: the Premier League's a challenge and there are two great teams in the city but he is the world's best coach and could have gone anywhere. He chose City because they'd have the faith, letting him build the project he has in mind.

"He will make his mark. If you watch City last season they passed the ball well but it doesn't happen overnight. You need the right players. They will bring in players who suit the system he wants, which doesn't have to be identical to Barca. He is intelligent, he will adapt. He will create an identity, a connection."

'Lukaku and Mourinho can work together' - Man Utd transfer talked up by Essien

    romelu-lukaku-everton_8mb2tryxwmvm18ng99ug8twgi.jpg

Romelu Lukaku and Jose Mourinho would have no problem working together at Manchester United, says Michael Essien.

With the Red Devils in the market for added firepower this summer, the Everton striker is among those reported to be on their transfer radar.Several other options are being considered, with Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Torino’s Andrea Belotti seen as big-money alternatives.

Lukaku, though, would add Premier League experience to the ranks at Old Trafford and despite Mourinho having deemed the Belgian surplus to requirements during their time at Chelsea, a move could be made once the window re-opens.Ex-Chelsea midfielder Essien sees no reason why United should not table a bid, telling the Manchester Evening News: "Yes why not?

"If Jose wants him and he wants to play for Jose then yes they can work together.
"They both have to want to work with each other for that to happen and if the desire is there then, yes, they can work together."

Mourinho suggested that Lukaku’s “approach was not highly motivated” as he allowed him to head out of Stamford Bridge, but Essien insists there was no animosity between the pair.He added on the relationship between coach and player: "In general it was good and normal.

"We all had different relationships with Jose and mine, as everyone knows, is like a father and son.“I won’t say Romelu’s relationship with Jose was the same as mine but, in general, it was normal and they respected each other."

Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to grace a Champions League stage in the near future and, after 87 goals in 166 games for Everton, could get his wish this summer, with a return to Chelsea also being mooted.

Marotta confirms Juventus interest in Donnarumma

    gianluigi-donnarumma-ac-milan-2017_u9edu4ju7ody1xcg5dauqghih.jpg

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed Juventus are interested in signing Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper will not renew his contract with the Rossoneri , which expires in June 2018, having informed them of his decision this week after lengthy speculation surrounding his future.Donnarumma has been touted as Europe's most promising young talent and Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United are all credited with an interest.

The Serie A champions are preparing for the loss of Gianluigi Buffon, who says he is entering the final year of his career, with Donnarumma the most likely to replace him in Turin as well as with the Italy national team.

And Marotta has admitted Juve are tracking Donnarumma, but must decide if he is the winner they need."It's clear Juve have the right to study all opportunities," he told Corriere della Sera. "When a player is on the market we have a duty to try to sign him, but not right now.

"He is a talent. Then we have to differentiate between a talent and a champion."
Although the Bianconeri may capitalise on Donnarumma's decision, Marotta believes the rules must change to prevent such battles between players and the clubs that produce them.

"It's increasingly difficult to manage these situations. We are facing a radical change in the figure of the young footballer," he said. "These days, professionals close to them plan out their career, even in opposition to the clubs which raised them. That’s a fact."The rules need to be changed, and the efforts clubs make in the youth sector must be protected with some kind of compulsory apprenticeship."

Juventus have been linked with some big transfers as they look to improve on a Serie A winning campaign and a Champions League final. With Marco Verratti and Douglas Costa linked, Marotta discussed some targets.

"Thanks to Bayern, we are in contact for Douglas Costa's availability," he said.
"But the Germans must be willing to sell him and the price must be right.
"Based on tactics and the investment needed, Verratti doesn't interest us."
