Most of Free Trade agreement are one sided. We should force the other party to give dollar terms for balance of trade. For e.g. If the import from India $3 billion and export $1billion. We should allow free trade for $1 billion. since our exports are blocked under negative list, and unforeseen ban on our exports. With quality and standard blockage. We need to impose quota restriction on imports.We should stop dumping of vehicles in Sri Lanka by Japanese and Indian exporters. We need Trump style approach. Such as showing that purchase order invoice must at least be 25% of local products in manufacturing instead of imported one. All vehicles must be manufactured in Sri Lanka, may it be any brand. Sri Lankan are experts in assembling in Vehicles.
