Both Samsung and LG are good. But some people have a tendency to recognize Samsung for electronics and LG for home appliances.
These products are highly advanced now, If they give you a warranty of 2 yrs it will surely fail on the day 731. But not before.

But 731st day means by the end of warranty period. in case of washing machine, 1 year for all other parts except inverter. inverter might extended upto 10 years. But repair at end of 1 year is disaster...
