Fuel crisis explained (according to Malinda Alahakoon): :dull:

    • A low grade fuel ship was refused.
    • Sri Lanka anyway had enough stocks to cater the demand until the next petroleum vessel arrives.
    • However the news of dismissing the ship, panicked people. (Media as well as gossip sites fed it more making the situation way worse.)
    • In a rush everybody wanted to get their tanks full and queued in filling stations day and night.
    • As the demand rapidly multiplied and escalated island wide, fuel stocks immediately started to decrease.
    • The main reason behind the entire situation is, people do not trust the actions of the government and the government too has never acted in a trustworthy manner before.
