With modern gadgets getting smaller and better to replace the jewelry or fashion accessories, the contemporary jewelry designers may have to face a tough time in the days to come. Yesterday we covered the Bricell Jewelry Phone in the blog, and now it’s time for another stylish gadget to tickle the trendy users. Conceived by Brazilian designer Dinard da Mata, the “Fluid” is a smartphone concept that as suggested by its name features a flexible OLED display to allow better mobility and ease of use. Designed for Philips, the mobile phone wraps around the wrist to become a bracelet for the fashionable, while gives an easy access on the go.

Fluxion Transport

680bound

The year is 2100 and a new bread of vehicle has been developed, The Fluxion is a high speed magnetic flux ion driven machine which can transverse all types of terrain. It has a magnetic ion drive on each wheel at around 200kw max power per wheel translating to 800kw total which can propel this vehicle to near 500 kph on the high speed computer controlled highways and also climb rough terrain for some wilderness fun. Each wheel is on a carbon nano pivot support structure. It sits 4 people in luxury.Power to the cells is supplied via the solar skin array of the vehicle, roads in the city have built in flux ion generators to also supply power/info data while the vehicle is in the city.
Syd Mead is a master and I have tried to resemble his image of future transport. Thank you for the inspiration.

    Talking With A Palm

The future iPhone is here or at least in conceptual form. Given that size, design and features need to be drastically innovated, the NOT A Phone – Next Generation iPhone, delves into the projection arena. So basically you strap the next-gen iPhone to your wrist and project the display to your palm. You can figure out rest of the drill from the images, so my question to you today is….are we in for projection screens for phones? Is that the future of phone display, have a basic small screen and project the rest of it?

In 2020 We Can Wear Sony Computers On Our Wrist

Our present need for internet connectivity is so profound that secondary devices like the Nextep Computer are bound to happen. Developed to be worn as a bracelet, this computer concept is constructed out of a flexible OLED touchscreen. Earmarked for the year 2020, features like a holographic projector (for screen), pull-out extra keyboard panels and social networking compatibility, make the concept plausible. Ten years from now is not too far away, so how many of you think we’d be buying such gadgets?

Phone That Shames The Weather Bureau

I don’t know about your city, but the weather bureau of my hometown is often sniggered at, for their in-accurate predictions. When they say it will rain (like they predicted a couple of days ago) you can be sure it will be bright and sunny. I would like to gift them this “Window Phone”, that makes accurate predictions and even changes its display to reflect the climatic conditions outdoors. Maybe I should keep the phone for myself and bug the bureau with my updates.

Eco Gadgets: Wine-powered cellphone takes communication to a ‘high’er level

    cheers_1_9TyOS_69.jpg

Eco Factor: Concept cellphone powered by alcohol.

Apart from solar and wind energy, other green energy sources are being developed to run our portable gadgets and like always designers are taking cellphones to perfect their most ingenious of technologies. Industrial designer Tryi Yeh is developing a new “high” for communication with a cellphone powered by wine.

    cheers_2_V6Gir_69.jpg

The cellphone, dubbed “Cheers” is designed in the shape of a alcohol bottle and powered too by the same drink. Opening the cap of this “bottled” cellphone gives access to the fuel cell, which carries wine, which also provides a more efficient way of saving the battery’s energy. Other details on technical specifications aren’t available, but does a cellphone powered by wine need anything else for good marketing.

Lines of Light on Wheels of Speed

Devour if you will this escape from urbanization, the XSCAPE is from a time and place unknown to us as of yet, a concept car for 2030. Daily commuting is what this lady is for, flexible and narrow for the condensed spaces of the future. Flexible materials are mixed with solids for a safe ride and trip – this car can also extend horizontally to accommodate more than one rider.

The extension mechanism is integrated into the chassis and the pillar which runs along the roof all the way along until the rear. At the back, a concertina of extended lights and a cluster-like hatch that opens to provide flexible luggage space as well. Each wheel is light and highly fuel efficient, a light stripe runs along each to show the width. Sensors and cameras are installed along the wheels to be viewed from within the car.

Inside you’ll find minimal interface between the occupants and the vehicle. Each mechanism is hidden under spandex-like materials allowing for max movement and flexibility while remaining simple aesthetically as possible. Controls appear and disappear just as easily. Each of the following are retractable so that the driver might enter/exit the vehicle: pedals, dashboard, and steering wheel.

The model you’ll see in the first image is milled out of a high-density yellow foam on a 3 axis CNC machine. The DLO is made of a sheet of 2mm Perspex on a vacuum forming machine, and small parts were made using a rapid prototyping machine. Fantastic!

    Intelligent Glass

Right here is a tumbler called the Green Smart Glass, and it’s meant for the cuppa addicts to put their piping hot beverage to good use. Most often people wait for their hot drinks to cool down a bit before consuming it. Now if they were to use this smart glass, then the heat loss process would be harnessed into an energy form, to be used later. While the technical details are very aptly described in the images, for you to ponder on, my only concern is the cleaning process. Will the glass withstand the dishwasher…or do we have to come up with a solution!

Wearable Mobile Device For Enhanced Chatting

A new wearable device that anyone can communicate with that is easier and lighter in mobile circumstances corresponding to the 3.5G, 4G communication standard. Human hand is the most basic communication method. For easier and simpler controls, it uses the instinctive input method “finger joint”. Excluding the thumb, each finger joint makes up twelve buttons, with “the knuckle button”, using the cell phone’s 3X4 keypad, likely being the most popular input method.

MoonRider hybrid motorcycle takes care of your flying needs

    moonrider-concept-electric-vehicle-by-marko-design_1_sRVq1_69.jpg

Eco Factor: Hybrid concept motorcycle harvests renewable solar energy.
The MoonRider concept motorcycle by Marko Design isn’t just a hybrid in terms of its engine, but also when it comes to operation. The concept integrates a zero-emission electric motorcycle and a jet-engine powered aircraft into an ultra-lightweight body that can be driven or flown through urban towns.
    moonrider-concept-electric-vehicle-by-marko-design_2_YOhjW_69.jpg

The MoonRider features electronic controls that balance the vehicle when it is being driven. With a two-wheel based construction, each of the front tandem-wheels is driven by its own electric motor. The electric batteries are juiced-up by solar panels included in the vehicle’s frontal part.

    moonrider-concept-electric-vehicle-by-marko-design_3_TEiC1_69.jpg

Energy for flying comes from a powerful plasma jet engine, which will be a replacement for today’s turbo jet engines. To make flight possible, the designer aims to develop the vehicle from lightweight composite materials which along with an aerodynamic design will help this machine take on the sky in an efficient manner.
