Darksiders II Delays Death Until August
Darksiders II Delays Death Until August
A post over on the official Darksiders II website has brought word that the upcoming Action/Adventure from THQ and Vigil Games has been delayed. Those of you expecting to dive into the role of Death this June will now have to wait until sometime in August, but developer Vigil promises that the small delay will be well worth the wait.
Apparently, the delay has nothing to do with recent layoffs at Vigil, but rather is intended to give the devs the time they need to get the more ambitious sequel where they think it needs to be. From the post:
This small delay is to allow additional time for polish and bug fixing. As we’ve stated in numerous articles and videos, Darksiders II is substantially larger game than its predecessor and the ambition of this project requires extra time to polish to the high standards that Vigil Games and THQ are committed to.
Speaking of commitment, Vigil promises that everyone who has/does pre-order Darksiders II will receive the Limited Edition at release, along with any associated retail exclusive content. Also, if you're worried that the delay will mean that things are being cut from the final game, fret not as Vigil assures the masses that the game content remains unchanged, as do the studio's future DLC plans.
So, there ya go. Darksiders II is now scheduled to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in August of 2012. Of course, we'll keep you posted as we get word on the specific release date.
