Bro, before buying GTX260, please consider ATI HD 5770 (only if you like to buy ATI)

It's about 2500/= cheaper (not sure in SL, but deffa cheaper then GTX 260)... and have more performance than GTX 260 in almost every benchmark..

    Go here... http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2010-gaming-graphics-charts-high-quality/benchmarks,101.html

Click on the benchmarks and see the results... do some homework before you end up wasting money... if you save 2500, you can use that for another upgrade on your PC!

Consider all opotions before buying something... But if you only want Nvidia then that's OK! :)

I don't think we have 5770 here in SL :(

That's too bad.. its a good competitor for GTX260, then I guess it's better to go for a GTX260!

5770 is considerably cheaper and a good performer... But if anyone can afford... the real value for money card is HD 5850!

I think after 5770 the next card ATI has is 5830 but its not really a good deal considering there's only about Rs.1000+ difference with 5850!

    Look at it this way...

Most people in SL aren't looking at the whole picture... MOST people in SL cannot afford a very very expensive system... and extremely expensive VGAs!

And VGA alone will not make a performing system.. overall system performance is important, it should be balanced.. for a country like SL, value for money is very important.. if the performance of 2 cards are identical but the price is significantly different.. it makes sense to buy the cheaper card and save money and upgrade something else on your PC using that money!

That's all I'm saying... personally.. when Nvidia makes cheaper kiss-ass cards than ATI, I'll deffa buy Nvidia!

Being a Nvidia or ATI fan will only make you a DUMB Customer!

These companies are competing with each other so that we can benefit, if you don't want the benefit... it's YOUR BAD!

    No idea!
wait and see nvidia release there dual gpu cards.

GTX 480 is a single gpu card.5970 defeat gtx 480 in games by 30 or 25 fps average .

Wait and see untill nvidia release there dual gpu cards.

    Nvidia FTW.

Nvidia always release there good cards after releasing ati cards.
past year also the same story.

first nvidia let the ati to release there 4870x2.
then nvidia release there GTX 295.

ATI have some good cards.MY personal favorites ati cards r 4890,5770,5830.

I recommend ati for normal gamers and pc users.
I recommend nvidia for extreme gamers and renders.ex-auto cad.

wait and see what ? another expensive card from nvidia or ....?:lol:
