The game is good, infact it is one of the most complicated games ever made by valve...Games should be ease things for mind, not more complicating it...
Game is puzzle based, and can be played with SP but u need to be quick in both hand and mind to get the jobs done, but atleast portal 2 has a mission nowm portal 1 didn't had a objective for the plot.
If have doubts, I think most of u kno, that NVIDIA users can get the portal 1free-to-play (not BETA/full) version from nvidia/steam..

it wasn't a bad game. i mean da gameplay that they had provided was highly enjoyable and awesome grfix too at that time ..(u could ride a horse
, sword fight, stealth kill, sit on a bench , mug someone , interrogate ah i almost forgot climb things ) and dat's about it for the whole game... i mean its da same tasks over and over again once u hv completed the first two or three challenges there u go same thing again!
