he was in the LTTE.......they did that to upset and dismantle the LTTE.....the govt is cleverer than you think.....
his situation and that of a general like i said abt is very different.....
even Alexander the great did that to bring down countries....bribing the ministers of the countries he is gonna invade and promise them special postings for their help and info......a regrettable sacrifice to end the war.....
