Oh dear. You didn't really mean to send that nasty e-mail to your boss, did you?

Until Thursday, your only recourse would have been the "rescind e-mail" in corporate versions of Microsoft Outlook. And that only works under certain conditions, and is useless if your boss has already opened the message.

Now Google's stepped up to the plate to save your bacon.

Its "Undo Send" feature, just added to Gmail, actually holds your outgoing e-mails for 5 seconds, giving you enough time to say "Ulp!" and cancel delivery.

To turn it on, sign in to your Gmail account, click "Settings," click on the "Labs" header and scroll almost all the way down the page to "Undo Send."

    Then breathe a bit easier.

there are lots of handy features in Google Labs (Check the link at the top-right hand corner named "Labs" in your Gmail account)...

They are in beta testing stage and we can enable/disable them as we wish..

Google is always smart..and full of innovative ideas..

another handy Lab feature is "Attachment checker"...Most of times in our mails we write "I have attached the photo.... .." but we forget to attach it before sending..I think you all have that experience.. Most of times I have sent only the covering letter typed in the email body without attaching my CV when Im applying for jobs...that cool attachment checker feature will notify us if we forget to attach the files and attempt to send the mail...

You all guys might think how google gets to know that we wanna attach a file..it's a pretty simple but innovative concept...they check our message body for the possible texts with the word attachment, etc..

Explore more features in "google labs" and have fun...

N.B. gmail has a cool lab feature of sending sms thru gmail at no cost..unfortunately it works only for a small set of countries except Sri Lanka.. :(
