Go for an international probe - Opposition
The opposition today called on the government to get the support of international intelligence agencies to probe the killing of Leader Editor Lasantha Wickramatunge and the arson attack on MTV if there is an "international conspiracy" as claimed by the State.
At an opposition media briefing chaired by UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, (M) leader Mangala Samaraweera said that now that the government had attributed the two incidents to international elements then the government should seek support of international intelligence agencies to carry out probes too.

If there is any justice in this world, those who killed Lasantha (any body with an open mind would know who) would meet the same fate in the near future. At least that is my hope and prayer!

I incidents of these nature, the only question one could ask is 'who will benefit by this?' Could this be to discredit the government and 'nullify' it's and forces' acheivement in winning the war against LTTE? Up to the time our forces captured the oppositon thought winning the war or capturing Kilinochchi was a 'day dream'. I can still remember the fiery speeches made by dark glassed guy's ministers ' Tigers will never be beaten Sri Lankan forces will be crushed etc etc." all these on Tiger propagand on TV and in the website. It was only a 'Trojan Horse' finally.

Mangala already is a political Hence the majority in this country will always reject what he says as irrelevant and nonsensical. Sri Lankan nation is not his personal property for him to be asking for foreign intervention. He is no one else but a social reject making noise pathetically making an attempt to get some attention!

The parochial attitude of some of these bloggers is unbelievable. These people seem to think the present rulers must be protected come what may! One really needs to think about the lawlwssness facing the country and its people. One need not wait till something nasty happening to oneself to realize the gravity of the situation. There have been so many murders and acts of vandalism and destruction to property carried out in the near past where no one has been held responsible let alone being apprehended and punished. The Government keeps on blaming conspirators either lacal or international; The president keeps instructing the IGP to investigate and apprehend the culprits. Either the IGP is not listening or the Police is simply incapable of solving these cases. It is possible that the groups alluded to by the President may even harm the President. It is therefore a wise thing to get help from outside to solve these cases. IT takes a severe case of myopia to not to see this reality.

You must look at this tragic situation without any political biases.If our police cant find the culprits oneday those who are responsible will get the punishment .Curse of the people will follow them .
