A high level government delegation will visit Brussels late this month to pursue with the European Commission the country’s bid to retain the GSP plus preferential trade status which is facing suspension from August this year.
The delegation comprising Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundara, Foreign Secretary Romesh Jayasinghe, Justice Ministry Secretary Suhada Gamlath and Attorney General Mohan Peiris will undertake the visit on May 20 – 21, External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris told Parliament.
