The Police headquarters have issued notice to all police Stations in the Eastern province to cancel all pending leave of the officers, DIG Trincomalee Ravindra Vaidyalankara said.
Accordingly the DIG's of the province were sent notices to this effect a short while ago. The notice comes as a result of the tense situation prevailing in the East of the country. There have been protests against the police in the east due to the "Grease devil" pandemic spreading around the Eastern region. However, the cancellation of leave doest not apply to emergency situations.
