More than 1000 people led by Mayor of Batticaloa Sivageetha Prabhakaran protested in Puttur in Batticaloa over the failure of the police to disclose information about three suspicious persons loitering in the village on the previous night.
The three persons were seen running into the Setthukudha police post and the people had questioned the officers about the three persons. After they refused to divulge information resulting in a protest from the villagers.
They set fire to tyres and blocked the traffic.
TNA Parliamentarian P. Ariyanethran , C. Yoeshwaran and Pon Selvanathan visited the scene of the protest.
