IMPRESSIVE!!!
First of all.. a word about Dr.Naik's video you posted, did you actually watched it yourself? Because he says the
WORD Holy War is not in the Q'ran which maybe true, but what he would not tell you what's in the Q'ran that resembles a HOLY WAR.. watch the video and let me know!!
Oh! Can I ask you few questions?
1. Is Chapter 8, Verse 65 in the Q'ran?
2. Do you understand what it means?
3. If you do.. can you explain to me why has Q'ran mention something like that in the first place?
4. And what's the difference between a HOLY WAR and what's Q'ran has mentioned in those chapters and verses?
Sorry,I didnt get time to answer to ur question y'day..
sri_lion ayya thank,(if) atleast u went through the quran.I think u have done a googling with the word quran, killing and etc for ur quotations from the quran and confused ur self with those limited knowledge.
Actually i cant explain each and every word, bcoz im not an expert(but i know more than u).Bt i'll try to explain.
If u wanna understand quran properly u have to follow some conditions(ethics?).I'll mention some of them.
* C the background or in which situation it revealed.
* dont hangup with a single quotation.there may be a history behind tht surah.
most of the non muslims comlain abt these things like u, by brief reading without going further.
for this kind of people i suggeest thm to go through like thafseer of quran(not only the translation bt also in greater details. I have one by S.ABUL A'LA MAUDUDI, better if u can c this).you can use this also
http://www.tafsir.com/ go to this and select the chapter.
you talked abt white skins who convert to islam earliar.do u think they also go through briefly like u?
in this place u have bcome like arunshoori(whos tht?).for details
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yNrxYewhi0&feature=related
this wil show u about ur earliar questions?look at the example aronshoori uses.
I'll come to ur question.
chapter 8 is surah al-anfal.This Surah enunciates general principles of war and peace while reviewing the battle of Badr and uses them for the moral training of the muslims.
It ws revealed after the battle of Badr, the first battle beetween islam and kufr.
* so consider its in war period
(for further details find out abt battle of badr and events tht led to tht battle)
better if u c the meaning from 60-66 rather than finding the meaning only for 65.
it tells tht The muslims should always be prepared for war on every front, but should be ready to make peace if the other party is inclined towards it.
(some thing similar example in youtube link i mentioned
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yNrxYewhi0&feature=related )
Whn u r going through the quran(not only for quran,bt for any new unknown matters)first try to understand wht does it try to mean and thn critisize.
I hope u r a buddhist. So u may have greater knowledge of it.Do u know ur religios scriptures also mention abt prophet Muhammed(PBUH)?(if u like to know more ,ask me)
Hope u'll get something out of it..
Cheers.Thnks for ur interest.
sri_lion ayya,ur post amount shows tht most of the time u r free(am i correct?).so allocate some time to go through these stuffs i mentiond.specially watch Dr zakir naiks videos.bcoz he
is renowed as a dynamic international orator on Islam and Comparative Religion.
