Even I dont like his songs. But he is one of the greatest singers we ever had. I closely work with one of the top sound engineers in sl who has recorded most of jothipala's songs. This is what he told me about him.
When jothipala was sick and on deathbed . They brought him to the studio to record a song on a stretcher and he completed the song on one take. There was no difference in his voice ana it was a perfect one and nothing wrong in the pitch. Those days they didnt have technology like today where you can correct your mistakes in the computer. This was his last song and a big hit (sorry i dont know the name).
