Can anyone please tell me that what is the best software to get a image of a hard drive?
I use Acronis TrueImage Home 10. Works perfectly in Vista and even 64bit environment. Very stable. The only thing I'm not happy about it is the fact that it is not natively 64bit (not relevant to most people, but it could surely make me use a higher compression.

Another program like this is Symantec Backup Exec (formaerly known as Symantec Live State Recovery). I haven't used it and only now it supports Vista.

Norton Ghost, IMO, is too mediocre for the current technology.

You will find all the information you need from this screenshot.

But you can't download it from their website. They only give the trial version. You can't crack it. You have to find a torrent.

I'm used to trust symantec programs more than any thing. if u try the software let me know, i'm also a vista user and i need 64bit....

Are you using 64bit edition of Vista too? Cool, if you are.

I'm yet to confirm the native x64 support in Symantec BESR7. TrueImage works fine, just that I would like to use the maximum compression level and I think 64bit can achieve it without slowing down.

I don't have problems like that because I use private trackers. They don't display any inappropriate images.

BESR7 is still in beta stages. I will not download it as a beta. I will only try it out when the full version comes out.

Hehe ok. Anyway, I think TrueImage is the best software around at the moment.

O&O is supposed to have a software called O&O DiskRecovery but it's not currently compatible with Vista. I like O&O because they almost always have a native 64bit software version of their popular products such as O&O Defrag, O&O Undelete etc.

It will take a long time :D
Maybe by then, Acronis will have a native 64bit software out.

BTW, can you tell me which native 64bit software you are using in Vista x64? I hate to run software in WOW64 mode.
